the encounter

╰┈➤ ❝the encounter❞

Wooyoung opened his eyes, finding himself lying on the familiar bed in the small house. As he slowly sat up and looked out of the window that was located next to the bed, he heard some noise coming from the other side of the door.

He flinched and covered himself with the blanket he was wearing. The door opened and Wooyoung heard someone coming towards the bed. He felt a hand on top of the blanket which was moving on top of him like it was taking notes of his body.

He felt the hand stop and grip the blanket, taking it off his body. While Wooyoung's eyes were adjusting to the bright daylight, he saw a tall figure next to him. When his eyes were adjusted, he widened his eyes in shock. It was a tall, young and handsome looking man, standing tall next to Wooyoung's bed, examining his features with a crease between his eyebrows.

The young man approached Wooyoung, reaching for him with his hand. Wooyoung turned to face him and reached for the other's hand, slowly with his smaller one. The man examined Wooyoung's hand as if he had never seen another human before. He then focused his gaze on his face and started to examine it. Wooyoung blushed a bit, knowing the man was taking a close look at his features. No one had ever looked at him so closely other than himself.

The man reached for his face and touched his forehead with his hand and stared into Wooyoung's eyes. The man's eyes were like two pairs of galaxies, this weird purple colour almost glowing in his eyes. Wooyoung found it mesmerizing, as if the other was luring him into his trap.

Was he even human to begin with?

Who has purple eyes?

The man then proceeded to take his hand away from Wooyoung's face, backed off and left the room, leaving Wooyoung in the room with a startled expression. What was that man thinking? And was he safe to be around?

Wooyoung then got up from the bed and opened the door to go outside. He walked down a little path and stopped at the same rock he was sitting on yesterday. The river had calmed down and there was no mist to be seen anymore. He sat on top of the rock again and put his head on top of his knees, hugging his legs.

He closed his eyes and thought about last night. He had definitely been drowning, but he was saved in the end, possibly by that man. A little smile crept its way to Wooyoung's lips at the thought of that man saving him. He definitely had to thank him when he saw him again. He also remembered the little song he heard last night, humming random parts of the song in thought as he watched the water swirl in the river again.

He didn't remember every part of the song, but he tried hard. Wooyoung's voice echoed through the forest as he hummed the song. Then he went silent when he didn't remember the rest, listening to the trees rustling in the wind. It was peaceful.

Wooyoung heard footsteps behind him, but he didn't bother to look because he already knew that him and that man were the only ones that were in this forest. So, he continued to watch the water for a few minutes.

When he finally turned his head to look at him, the man was staring at Wooyoung and he looked confused for some reason. He didn't speak, but Wooyoung knew he was confused. Well, he was as confused as the other one was, because the man just appeared from somewhere yesterday. But in all honesty, he was thankful that he saved him yesterday.

Wooyoung gathered up his courage, showing the other a small smile. "Thank you for saving me last night. I really appreciate it." He blurted out, the other one just blinking and continuing his staring.

The man continued to stare at Wooyoung and he decided to stand up to get a better look at him. He walked towards him and was now standing in front of the other man. The first thing Wooyoung noticed was that he was tall, very tall. He reached for his hair with his small hand and touched it, the soft texture feeling good between his fingers. Wooyoung looked at the other, examining every detail on his face and body.

His purple eyes were nothing compared to the colorful hair he had, different shades of purple and black splattered all over his head like a child had painted on it. Wooyoung couldn't hold his smile back, so he gave him a warm smile. The other's eyes widened a little, Wooyoung giggling at his reaction and taking a step back, continuing his small talk.

"My name is Wooyoung. What about you?" Wooyoung smiled at him and hoping that he would answer the question. But when the silence continued for a few minutes, he was rather disappointed.

The small smile he had on immediately disappeared when he heard his phone's ringtone coming from the small house. A million thoughts ran through his head as he ran to the house and picked up his phone from a table. Oh no, it was his mother. Picking up the phone and placing it on his ear, he carefully answered and as soon as he did, his mother was already yelling on the phone.

"Where the hell are you, young man?!" She yelled. "I thought you were going for a run when you suddenly disappeared from the house?"

"Why do you care..." Wooyoung answered coldly, almost slapping himself right after when his mother seemed to rage even more because of his disrespectful tone.

"You are coming home, right now!" She commanded and hung up.

Wooyoung was scared what would happen when he got home. Would they beat him up like they always did? Would they take all his precious things away from him like they always did? He dropped the phone on the ground and squatted down, feeling his eyes tear up as he thought about all the horrible things that had happened every time he came home too late. They would either beat him up, or starve him for a few days. Sometimes they did both. He didn't want to go home now, or never.

Wooyoung heard the door open and he stood up quickly, wiping the tears off his face to look somewhat presentable. That didn't help though, because the tears kept on rolling to his cheeks when he saw the man step inside the house.

He widened his eyes as he watched Wooyoung cry his eyes out, picking up his phone from the floor and heading outside. He had to go home. Otherwise his parents would call the police on him and give him a worse beating.

Wooyoung walked down the narrow path again, seeing the bench again and the worn out paint on the edge of it. As he stopped to look at the bench again, he saw the man running towards him. He looked a little worried which made Wooyoung confused. He stopped in front of him and looked into his eyes again.

He felt the other's hand brush on his cheek, carefully wiping the tears off his face in the process. Then, he smiled. He seriously smiled at Wooyoung. He widened his eyes and blushed. The man had the cutest smile, dimples showing and eyes almost disappearing with the smile.

Then he took Wooyoung's hands and wrapped them around him and hugged him. It's been a such long time since someone had hugged him. Hence, he felt tears falling again. It was nice to be embraced by someone.
