Ritual-ready

"Very well, dear prince." A faint smile tugged on the corners of my mouth. "Feel free to accompany me as you like." In the mirror, I saw his dark eyes brightened. "But, should you get in the way of these ladies. You'll find your ass thrown outside of this room."

The maids' giggles echoed all around the four corners of the room.

Erion frowned and got to his feet, his hands landing onto his hips. "Such a profane way of speaking, Calla. Wherever did you learn that?"

I bit back a laugh. "Where else? You and Lavi spit curses like there's no tomorrow."

The light in his eyes vanished as the rush of realization settled in him. "I never noticed you were listening."

"I didn't need to."

Erion shrugged, brushing it off as though he deemed it not much of a big deal. It wasn't, of course. I doubted these maids would spread rumors of a noble girl speaking informally. Besides, they didn't look like they were taking it seriously as well.
