Covers, the first thing people see when they look at your book. They obviously need to look static, otherwise, it might shoo people away. Of course, some very alluring un-overexaggerated titles could draw people in as well, but that's for next week.
As someone who's extremely loyal to fantasy-fiction books, if I see a cover that has a real-life person on it, I'll be instantly shooed off. Even books with animated covers that are about real-people or realistic fiction will draw me in and make me fall in love with them.
If it has a bad cover, I don't care if my favorite author (which on Webnovel is ash_knight17, go check them, their great) wrote it, I won't bate an eyelash towards it.
To sum up this short lesson due to a case of short-term writer's block (hopefully), choose a cover that fits your theme, lures in readers, and something that you're proud of.
