Bea's Arcade Date

Bea's POV

It is the weekend, nothing really exciting except that I don't have anything to do because I have already passed all my papers and projects.

Thirdy is here now, having breakfast with Kuya and I. They will be having their own bonding time. Then I received the text from Dave.

I will be there at 1PM.

I am excited to go to the arcade, doesn't matter who I will be with. Kuya still insisted that I go with him alone and not be chaperoned anymore while Thirdy was still protesting.

"Are you sure you will let Bea go out with Dave alone?" He asked Kuya

"It is not like Dave is a stranger, Thirds. What is wrong with you, bro?" Kuya asked him, eyebrows furrowed.

"Boys" I interrupted, "Chill, okay? This is not a big deal, it is just arcade thingy. Duh?" My eyes directly looking at Thirdy who is acting so weird since he got here.

I went upstairs after breakfast and fixed my room while passing time. Before lunch time, I have already showered and prepared my small bag for the things that I will need. My purse, my favorite spritz. My phone I placed in my pant's back pocket. Looked at myself one last time at the mirror and headed downstairs.

I can hear Kuya Loel and Thirdy still in discussion about my going out.

"I have a sister, Loel and I wouldn't definitely allow her to go out on a date with someone at her age." I heard Thirdy say.

"Oh Thirdy, are you serious? We have been discussing this for hours about Bea going to the arcade?" Kuya was laughing.

"Whatever, I am just saying it might be better if we accompany them."

"Keep cool, okay? Bea IS safe with Dave. It's the same feeling that I have whenever Bea is with you."

Then there was silence.

I was surprised when the door to Kuya's room opened and saw Thirdy looking at me.

"Are you listening?" He asked.

"Of course not! I am on my way downstairs." I said in defense.

Ayay yay Beatriz, when did you learn to eavesdrop? I thinkingly asked myself.

Thirdy is so irritating, why is he so against with the idea of me going to the arcade with Dave?

My brother is more lenient. Maybe because Dave is Kuya's friend and has known him for a long time. But Dave is not a stranger to Thirdy. All of Kuya's high school friends know Thirdy and vice versa.

Then I heard the doorbell, must be Dave.

I kissed Mom and Dad and said my goodbyes to Kuya and Thirdy.

"Take care, you two." Mom and Dad said. "Have fun, Bea!" Mom said.

"Update us, Bei." Thirdy told me with puppy eyes.

Everything went fine with my "arcade date" with Kuya's friend. Their driver dropped us at UPTC and then we went to Time Zone. I honestly enjoyed my time while we were there. I mean, who wouldn't, it is an arcade, anyway.

After the arcade, Dave invited me to have some snacks.

"Let's go, Bei, I'm hungry. Where do you want to eat?"

Good thing lunch was over so we were able to get an available seat at Romantic Baboy right away and then while waiting for the meat to arrive, I checked my phone. I felt it vibrating while I was in the arcade.

Just what I thought.

5 missed calls... 20 messages... All from Thirdy.

I decided to call him instead, excused myself from Dave.

"What's up?"

"I asked you to update us."

"Sorry, Kuya Thirdy, I was playing. Dave and I will be eating already. I will text you before I come home. Tell Mom and Dad, okay?

"Stop teasing, Bea. Take care."

The late lunch that Dave and I had was fine. We shared a lot of stories and he asked so many questions about me. Just minor things. I felt I was in a getting to know you Q&A.

"Where are you attending college?" He asked.

"I am not sure yet. I might go to La Salle since everybody in my family is from La Salle. What about you?"

"I'm Forever Lasallian so next year, I will still be in La Salle."

"Right. I still have a lot of time to think about that so I am not really in a hurry."

"I think you should attend college in La Salle, too so we could be together." Dave surprisingly said.

"Uhm Bea?" He looked at me. " Maybe we can do this again next week?"

Honestly, I didn't like the idea. Maybe Thirdy was right, after all.

"Oh that would really be a good idea, today was fun but I have things to do next week. Maybe next time."

I saw the disappointment in his eyes, but then again, the idea is making me uncomfortable.

When we arrived home, Kuya Loel and Thirdy was there to welcome us from the gate. I invited Dave in but he refused.

"I better get going, too. Better to avoid the traffic." Dave said.

He just did a fist bump with Kuya and said, "Take care, bro. Thanks for bringing Bea home."

Thirdy just looked at them, half smiling at Dave. I just have a feeling, Thirdy doesn't like him for whatever reason.
