(Levi's POV)
"Commander, may I make you some tea?" Hana's gentle voice snapped me out of the mounds of paperwork I had been working on. My dark eyes studied her as I nodded slowly. "Sure, a cup of tea would be lovely." I stated, pulling my gaze back down to the papers in front of me. I could hear her softly humming from across the room, causing me to relax a little. "Why don't you take a break Commander? You've been working all day, you deserve a break." Hana explained as she sat a hot cup of tea in front of me.
"You're right Cadet, thank you for the tea." I spoke softly as I lifted the cup of tea to my mouth. Her deep green eyes stayed locked on me as I took a sip. The hot jasmine tea coated my tongue, causing a relaxed sigh to escape me. A dark blush crawled across her cheeks as she leaned against the desk. "Commander, I've been thinking. I can't keep this hidden from you anymore." She stated as she leaned across my desk, brining our faces closer together. My eyes widened a bit as I backed up a little.
"C-Cadet, what is the meaning of this?!" I asked her, the tension in the air only thickening. "I don't ever want to die, without telling you my feelings." Hana explained as she walked around my desk so she could stand directly in front of me. "True feelings?" I repeated her words in shock as she got closer to me. "I'm in love with you Commander Levi, and I need you." She whispered, her voice making me quite uncomfortable.
"You're not in love with me Cadet, I'm married." I stated, hoping that would get her to back down. To no avail, she climbed on top of my lap before I could react. "I don't care if you're married, I need you commander..." she whispered as I put my hands on her hips in order to push her off. Before I could shove her off I heard the door open. "Hey darling I know-..." Emi's voice trailed off as her golden eyes met mine. Her expression quickly changed from suprise to heartbreak.
I threw Hana off of me as I rushed to the door. "EMI! THIS IS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!" I yelled. Emi slammed my office door shut before I could reach it. I clenched my fists in anger as I shifted my angry gaze to Hana, who was sitting on the floor. "Are you happy now, Cadet?!" I hissed as I opened the door and ran after Emi. After a few moments of chasing after her, I was finally able to reach her. I grabbed her wrist, stopping her from taking another step foward.
"Emi, it wasn't what it looked like! I swear I would never cheat on you." I explained frantically. Emi forcefully pulled her wrist out of my grasp. She reluctantly turned to face me, huge tears streamed down her face, causing my eyes to widen. "I'm not stupid Levi. I know what I saw." She stated coldly, her tone of voice felt like a knife in my chest. "Emi, baby... I would never do something like that. The only woman I want and need is you." I did the best I could to reassure her. I closed the space between us, her golden eyes sparkled under the moonlight that was coming in from the huge window in the hallway.
"H-How am I supposed to believe you Levi? You've been incredibly distant these past few weeks. Not just with me, but with Megami as well." She explained as my eyes widened. I had been so busy catching up on all the work I was behind on. I never once noticed that I had been pushing the two people I love the most away. I put my hand on the back of her head and pulled her into my arms. I held Emi as close to me as I could as she sniffled against my neck.
"Baby, I'm so sorry... I've been so busy with work, I didn't realize I had been slipping up as a father and husband. Please forgive me, Emi." I whispered as I kissed her forehead a few times. "What about your assistant?" Her soft voice caused me to sigh. "Don't worry, tomorrow I will be dismissing her from her duties. She had confessed her feelings to me and I denied her. She climbed onto my lap and right as I was about to push her off, that is when you walked in." I explained as Emi looked up at me, her sweet golden eyes still watery from her tears.
"So you weren't cheating?" She muttered, looking for more reassurance. I smiled gently and leaned in, kissing her softly. She instantly kissed me back, resting her arms over my shoulders. "No, never. I only have eyes for you. Nothing has changed." I explained as she deeply sighed, wiping away a few stray tears that were still running down her cheeks. "Let's go home Levi.." she smiled gently at me. I nodded in agreement, taking her hand in mine as I led her to the entrance of the barracks.
