(Emi's POV)
I woke up the next morning in Levi's arms. My golden eyes fluttered open, looking at the handsome details of my husbands sleeping face. There was a part of me that still couldn't believe this was my life now. My gaze shifted to the nightstand next to our large king sized bed. Two pictures sat on the nightstand, in identical black picture frames. The first was a picture of Levi and I, back when I was still his cadet. I reached over Levi's sleeping body, taking the picture frame carefully in my hands.
Those days felt like centuries ago, before I had actually confessed my feelings to Levi. That was such a confusing time in my life. I sighed to myself, noticing his eyes on me in the picture. I reached over and pulled the other picture off of the nightstand, doing my best not to wake Levi up. This picture was our first family photo, when Megami was first born. It blew my mind that Megami was now almost six months old. As the days passed, she reminded me more and more of Levi. She had his attitude, and his perseverance as well. I reached up and gently touched the small ruby that hung around my neck.
Memories of Kami flashed in my mind, causing a tear to stream down my cheek. I closed my eyes, thinking about all of the times Kami helped me. She changed me as a person, for the better. She helped me realize that I truly was capable of anything. Levi's gentle touch against my cheek caused my eyes to flash open.
"Are you alright, Emi?" His soft voice calmed me down in moments. I nodded and quickly wiped my tear away. "Yeah, I was just thinking..." I muttered. Levi placed his arms around my naked waist, pulling me into his chest. "Thinking about what? Talk to me Emi." He ran his free hand through my long blonde hair. "I've just been reminiscing, that's all. Our lives have changed so much since we first met each other. We've lost many people..and gained a bunch of people as well." I explained as Levi kissed my forehead gently.
"That's true but we will always have each other, as well as our beautiful daughter." Levi stated as I giggled. "That's true. Who knew that this is how our life would have turned out?" I smiled, thinking about the many times Levi and I argued, and still got through things together. "I've told you this before Emi, I always knew we would end up like this. There was a time in the beginning where I didn't want to admit it. I was scared of loving someone, because I had already lost so much. It took me a little to figure out that life is just too damn short." Levi explained, gently moving a strand of my blonde hair out of my face.
"Well don't worry Levi, I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me." I giggled, causing an adorable smile to appear on his lips. "Forever?" He whispered as I nodded, touching his cheek softly. "Forever." I answered. I knew deep down in my heart, as long as I had Levi I had everything I could ever hope and dream for.
