Fluent rapping.

With the mindset that he had fully mastered the skills of rapping, Mark sauntered to the studio's microphone for the commencement of the recording. He carried his phone along 'cause he hadn't mastered the lyrics to the song they wrote. The song they worked on had been given a title, the lyrics were nice, rapping was to take place mostly in the song. There were gonna be few displays of singing and vocals and lots of rapping.

On getting to the microphone, Mark took a deep breath, he was about to do something that he had never done before...that's rapping. Ben displayed the beat, and the oozing out of lyrics began. The first phase of the recording went smoothly 'cause the chorus came before the first verse, and the singing and vocalizing part of the song was to take place in the chorus, and Mark was definitely good at singing and vocalizing.

When it got to the first verse where rapping was to take place, Mark began to fumble. He thought that he had mastered the skills of rapping, but here he was fumbling. After a few more attempts, and his rapping was still shaky, he halted and took off the headphone from his head. With an unpleasant expression on his face, he said,

"This was even much harder than I thought, I speculated that I had fully learned how to rap, but damn! my rapping is so unstable....shit!".

"You just have to focus bro, you can do this". Dylan uttered from where he was sitting.

"This isn't a matter of being focused bro, I'm completely focused. Rapping isn't just my style of singing, and it wouldn't be that easy to learn. I was so stupid for thinking that I had mastered the techniques of rapping within some minutes of coaching". Mark let out in an audible tone of voice, seems like he was getting pissed off.

Dylan didn't like the fact that Mark was raising his voice, all that was being done was for his own good, for him to attain the fame that he deserves.....and here he was raising his voice? Dylan retorted back to Mark with an audible tone of voice also, but in a more relaxed way.

"Men, chill, you don't have to raise your voice at anyone, it's no one's fault. As I said earlier, you just have to relax and calm down, and you would do it perfectly. I know you can do this Mark".

"Yeah, you can do this Mark, I trust you on this". Ben chipped in.

Mark put on the headphone once again, took a deep breath, and uttered,

"Play the beat".

Ben wasted no time in displaying the beat again as the lyrics started flowing out from Mark's mouth once again. The recording started from its onset, the chorus went smoothly 'cause it involved singing and vocalizing, and as we all know....Mark's vocals were one of a kind and he was superb at singing. When it was getting very close to the first verse where rapping was to take place, Dylan used his palms to rub his jaw and wondered,

"Would he do it right this time?".

When it got to the first verse, Mark didn't disappoint this time, he didn't fumble....the rapping flowed freely from his mouth. That was possible 'cause he heeded to what Dylan told him, to relax and calm down. He put them into action, and things were going well, the rapping was flowing out freely. Not like Mark was so good at rapping now that he could compete with other top rappers in the music industry, he was just trying his best.

The rest of the recording went smoothly from the first verse, to the second verse, and the third. He didn't fumble or make mistakes throughout the recording, he rapped smoothly.

"He has finally done it, such a nice and fluent recording". Dylan uttered with a smile on his face at the climax of the recording.

"Yeah, it is done and finalized, lots of thanks should go to me for the smooth production". Ben bragged playfully.

With a playful frown on his face, Dylan stated disagreeing with what Ben said, "There he is bragging, lots of thanks shouldn't go to you, lots of thanks should come to me instead for creating the nice beat used in recording the song".

Mark walked to where the both of them were sitting, took a sit also and said,

"Lots of thanks should come to the three of us for working together to create such a cool song.....agreed?".

"Yeah....yeah, we agree". Mark and Dylan said in unison, not like it was a serious disagreement, all were just playful jokes.

Ben played the song for them to listen to, and it was such a jam and a cool vibe to listen to. It was so cool that they didn't know when they started nodding their heads to the melody.....even Mark didn't know when he was feeling the song.

"Damn! this is such a jam, such a great vibe, see how Mark's rapping is flowing fluently and rhythmically". Dylan declared.

"Yeah, I put in my best there, you told me to calm down and relax, I heeded to it, and the outcome was excellent. But I'm not sure I'll be able to rap so fluently like this with other lyrics". Mark stated.

Dylan's facial expression altered into a mystified expression the moment Mark made that statement. Without talking too much, he threw a simple question at Mark, "Why?".

"Rapping isn't just my style of singing, that's the main reason. I had to put in my very best for my rapping to be this fluent for the song we just recorded. I'll need weeks of coaching and practice for my rapping skills to become strong".

"I don't think you'll need weeks of coaching for your rapping skills to become perfect, you are downgrading your talent, Mark. The song you've just recorded is a complete jam, the rapping flowed so smoothly. I can fully say that you don't need weeks of tutoring for your rapping skills to become perfect". Dylan declared with so much belief in Mark, he really trusted Mark's talent.

Ben who had been keeping mute all this while suddenly said, "But the thought of these not working out is cringing me out. After all the efforts we've put into making such a nice song, Mark did what he had never done before, he rapped, and he did it fluently though he fumbled at the beginning. But after all our efforts, and the song doesn't blow up not to talk of making Mark a mainstream artiste.....that would be so bad. And the worst part of it is that we know that the possibility of it not working out is high".

"Yeah, to be sincere, it's cringing me out also, but I think I've faced a lot more and I've gotten used to it. No, I wouldn't say I've gotten used to it fully, I have learned how to manage the failures and depression to a certain level". Mark expressed.

Dylan sighed and said, "But no matter what, the striving as to continue, we wouldn't give up. Mark, You have to keep on striving no matter the challenges. You know what guys, I've seen an upcoming artiste like Mark that is more frustrated and fed up than what you guys are thinking. He is also talented, but not as talented as Mark".

"Did you discovered the talented guy before discovering me?". Mark inquired of Dylan.

"No, I discovered you before discovering the guy". Dylan responded.

"Why didn't you assist the other guy in attaining the fame he deserves as you are assisting me now?".

"Hmmm, let's say the potential I see in you, I don't see it in him".

"Hmmm, I understand now".

There was silence in the room for some seconds before Dylan disrupted it with a question,

"So when is this newly recorded song gonna drop?".

"I am gonna be dropping a new song soon according to my label's schedule. I and Ben had recorded lots of songs even before I met you, so we are gonna be releasing one of the songs soon. I think the newly recorded song should drop along with it". Mark stated.

Ben stood up from the chair he was sitting on, sauntered to the barricade, rested his back on it, and said,

"It would have been much better if we know that the song is gonna be a hit for the hard work we put into it. But there is a high possibility that it's gonna be the other way round instead".

Dylan shrugged a little then uttered, "We just have to hope for the best".
