Episode one

(note to the reader: this story is 5 years after Stefan's death, in this story Damon is not a human he is still a vampire, Elena is still in a magic coma, and the Salvator house didn't turn into a school for special kids except for that everything is exactly how it was in the TVD series)

Bonnie: where to go next? I almost visited every country and island in the past 5 years, I guess one last island and that will make me honest when I tell Enzo in the afterlife that I did as I promised and lived my life, I just hope to see Elena again I still don't know how to help her, Damon is barely holding up after his brother died, Caroline is struggling too, I really hope that there's something that I can do to bring them back together again...

*Bonnie sees her Grandmother with her ability*

Bonnie: oh my god I missed you so much and I really want to hug you right now!

Gramz: oh child I miss you too

Bonnie: I really wish I can touch you and hug you

Gramz: I may know a way to make that happen but I'm afraid you'll let your emotions get the best of you and you will try to change what happened

Bonnie: what do you mean? There's a way to make you alive again? And you didn't tell me!

Gramz: I assure you it's extremely dangerous that's why us Bennett witches kept it a secret for thousands of years but they think it's time for you to know, you have a pure heart and it's enough to allow you to see and contact your beloved ones in the past, but you must under no circumstances try to save anyone! Do you understand my child?

Bonnie: yes yes one last goodbye to everyone I love and I come back without messing with anything, I'm guessing you're talking about a time machine?

Gramz: there's no such a thing my dear science can't get you to travel in time, but there's a compass with magic of the oldest witch 3000 years ago, it's in a cave sealed with Bennett magic which can make a hole in time and allow you to travel back in time, you'll remember everything and when you finish saying goodbye you'll find your way back through the same cave, but you have to be careful and make sure that no one follows you to make sure the compass doesn't get stolen my dearest child

Bonnie: I understand, I really am grateful for you telling me this, giving me the opportunity to say goodbye, but I'm curious, how long did you know about it?

Gramz: the ancient witches don't tell any living witch to ensure they don't get sentimental and try to save a loved one which will have huge impact on the future as if there's a change of even one event that happened a while ago, it will affect the rest of time

Bonnie: that's a great risk, I'll be careful I promise

Gramz: the cave is in a deserted island in the south

*Gramz discribes the location of the cave to Bonnie*

Bonnie: thank you Gramz!

*Gramz smiling proudly of Bonnie*

*Bonnie calls Damon*

*Damon responds in a drunken voice*

Damon: weeeeelp iiit'sss Damon *hiccup* Salvatore, wwwhat can do for you todaaay?

Bonnie: are you drunk again?!

Damon: oooh heeey boooooon bon *hiccup*

Bonnie: you need to sober up and call Alaric too, meet me tomorrow at the airport I have great news!

Damon: you have what? *Hiccup* did you finally hook up with someone? Oooh no don't tell me you're getting married!

Bonnie: you're an ass do you know that?

Damon: and I'm a handsome one don't you think

*Bonnie hangs up the phone*

*The next day at the airport*

Alaric: over here Bonnie!

*Lizzy and Gosey run towards Bonnie*

Lizzy and Gosey: we missed you auntie Bonnie!

Bonnie: oh my god you brought the girls how sweet *she said in a happy excited tone*

*Damon shows up with a bottle of bourbon in his hand and talks in a loud voice*

Damon: Booonnieeeeeeee! I didn't miss you at aaaaaalll

Bonnie: he is still drunk?

Alaric: I'm trying to get him to sober up for the last five years, see what I'm dealing with?

Bonnie: well he has to be sober to listen to what I have to say, but first let's get somewhere private, I may have a way to make all of you get one last chat with anyone dead, your brother, your wife, my Enzo and...

*Damon pays attention and says with an angry, sad voice*

Damon: I swear Bonnie if this is kind of a joke to you I'll!!!

Bonnie: I'll never joke about something like that! And hey we all lost people we love, I know that you still didn't recovered from Stefan's death, and for some reason you think he didn't found peace but I will be grateful if you stopped being such a pain in the ass for two minutes!

Alaric: if that's true then we should involve Caroline in the matter, I'll give her a call to meet us in my house

Bonnie: what's wrong with his house?

Alaric: believe me you don't want to know

Damon: I may have burned a room or two...

Bonnie: you did what!!!?

Alaric: you mean burned the entire house except for Stefan's room where you sleep in his bed right?

*Bonnie looks with pity at Damon and that's when she notices how messed up his hair and clothes*

Bonnie with a soft tone: come here buddy I'm sorry I wasn't here for you

Damon: I'm fine everyone let's just get to Alaric's place

*Damon leaves Bonnie and heads to his car*

Alaric: he'll be fine

Bonnie: I seriously doubt that

Alaric: come on girls let's go

*At Alaric's place*

Caroline: I'm here, OMG Bonnie I missed you sooo much! How are you doing? And since when you're here why didn't you call me to get you from the airport?!

Damon: slow down tiger, and do you mind lowering your voice, I have a massive headache

Caroline: and typical hungover Damon is here too yaaaay *she said in a mocking tone*

Bonnie: I know that you were busy with the merge business and I didn't want to burden you, but I've got news

Damon: just spit it out Bonnie I want to dive into deep lovely sleep

Bonnie: so, because I'm a witch, I was able to contact my Gramz

Damon: I thought those days of "I can see and talk to dead people" were over

Bonnie: you're not helping! Look, I'm trying to help you to move on, there's a compass which can allow you to travel back in time in a cave in some deserted island, I'll go there to give Enzo and my Gramz a proper goodbye, feel free to join me and to have a moment with your brother and see him one last time either that or go home!

Caroline: you're saying that I may be able to see my mother? To see Stefan one last time?

Bonnie: I'm sorry I didn't mean to say it all like that I know it must be overwhelming and it's a lot to take in but yes that's basically everything

Alaric: and me and the girls can see Jo one last time at least they get to know her

Bonnie: but I must warn you, you don't get to save or take any of them with us, it's just to say goodbye

Alaric: can't we just stay there in the past?

Bonnie: no, the compass have the power to give us just a day in the past and we must leave things as they were not to change anything back there or there will me mighty concequences we will have to face

*Damon thinks about his brother, how he will feel when he see him again, he feels overwhelmed and then gets up and goes outside*

Alaric: Damon!?

Bonnie: I'll go after him

*Outside the house*

Bonnie: hey stranger

Damon: hey...

Bonnie: it'll be okay, you'll get to say goodbye to him

Damon: and then what, tell him he's going to die because he wanted to protect me? Tell him that Cade told me that there's no way to get out of hell and that's is where he is headed? Tell him that he is doomed and his fate is sealed? What am I supposed to tell him or how am I going to face him? You want to say goodbye because you know that both of your loved ones are at peace while my brother...

*Damon starts to breathe slower and his eyes gets filled up with tears*

Damon: my brother died Bonnie, and there's nothing I can do to bring him back...

*Damon says angerly*

Damon: I'm not killing anyone to honor him, I'm not shutting my humanity because I'm honoring my girlfriend who is in a magic coma until my best friend pass away so excuse me if I'm acting out a little bit, I don't care what you all will do, you've been busy with your travels, Alaric has been busy with his kids, Caroline is busy with the merge stuff, and me I'm doing nothing, I don't know how to help my girlfriend and when you said I could just say goodbye and not doing anything to help my brother... I feel helpless Bonnie, I'm good for nothing, if Stefan was the one here now he would've been a lot more helpful!

*Damon leaves Bonnie and heads home*

*Alaric joins Bonnie outside the house*

Alaric: he'll come around

Bonnie: I knew he was hurt but I didn't expect him to be that much hurt and all of us got busy and involved with our lives while he struggled alone, I feel bad for him

Alaric: he drove us away, whenever I came he didn't bother, so I stopped coming, he burned his whole house except for Stefan's room Bonnie!

Bonnie: that's more of a reason we should've been there for him, how come I only find out about all of this now!

*Caroline joins them*

Caroline: you don't have to blame yourself, we all lost people we loved most, I guess each have a different method of dealing with the pain

Bonnie: I hope you're right, I hope he feels better

Alaric: we should go to sleep we have a big day tomorrow, a deserted island to visit, and to deal with Damon's shit
