Orion

It had been three days since I'd told the animals about the new law the councillors and I were in the throne room reading the new law it said that anyone seen hunting would be arrested and punished how the animal in question saw fit the only people that could hunt were butchers and they had to carry a licence with them to show they were hunting for food, I signed the papers and later today the new law would be printed in newspapers posters would be put up and people would spread the word. It was really happening I am going to pass my first law as queen my mother would be proud as for my grandfather he would probably have a cow I smiled at that thinking about his reaction made me want to do it even more.

"I know why you're smiling" Tony let me know I smiled wider then looked at him innocently this made him laugh. We heard the maid, Amanda, scream outside, we looked at each then stood and ran to the door the door opened, before we got there, by a very scared looking Amanda

"what's wrong?" I asked her grabbing her shoulders I was panicking now

"there's ....there's ...a I'm ....it" she stuttered Tony walked past us into the hall and ... laughed he was laughing Amanda frowned getting colour back onto her face

"Caitlin, you better come look" he sounded cheerful, I went out into the hall and nearly jumped for joy I ran forward and hugged the black wolf the one I had heeled

"careful your majesty" Amanda called still sounding scared the wolf growled I laughed

"relax Amanda he won't hurt you this is the wolf I heeled in the forest he's harmless" I rubbed his head and kissed his nose I probably didn't look very elegant but ehh elegant is over rated "by the way injured wolf what's your name?" 'I'm Zorif' the wolf spoke in my mind  "well its a pleasure to meet you, now what brings you here?" I tried not to sound rude 'you saved my life so I am in debt to you I owe you my life' he bowed his head "you don't have to do this Zorif I did what anyone else would have done go home and enjoy life" 'I can't my queen alpha's orders alpha is like .... king of the pack we have to obey him or we die a painful death' we couldn't have that now could we 'maybe you can keep me as a pet?' I let out a sigh "fine but you're not to stay as my pet but a friend" I smiled 'agreed' he let me know I gave him another hug and introduced him to Amanda and all the councillors Amanda seemed to relax a little now which I was grateful for.

We soon figured that Zorif could stay here during the day to follow alpha's orders then at night he could go home to follow my orders

"hey Zorif I read somewhere that wolves can't live without their mate is that true" 'its true for shifters my queen not wolves' "what's the difference?" I asked my eyebrows furrowed 'shifters can change form meaning they can look like people when they want wolves cant' "oh you mean shifters are warewolves?" I asked finally understanding Zorif nodded his head.

We were currently walking through the castle looking for Zorif's room it was on the third floor but not next to mine butlers and maids bowed in greeting as they walked past, Zorif nodded in acknowledgment we finally came to his room I opened the door and Zorif walked in first there was a window opposite his door you could see the forest, on the right was his bed he had no wardrobe in here as he didn't need it Zorif walked over to the window and whined

"hey buddy" I said as I walked up to him and put my hand on his back "you can go home tonight" Zorif turned his head towards the door and growled I took a step back, maybe he felt danger there was a knock on the door it didn't feel like danger to me "enter" I called out the door opened revealing Amanda

"there is a man here to see you from Orion"

"Orion? as in Orions belt the collection of stars?" Amanda frowned

"no Orion the planet your majesty he's waiting in the throne room" I nodded Amanda looked down at the floor next to me I followed her gaze and realised Zorif was still growling "what's wrong with him?" she asked in a very scared voice 

"I don't know I can't read his mind he's too angry" I sat down next to him and stroked his head I looked up at Amanda "why don't you go now I'll be down soon" Amanda nodded probably happy to leave. when she left Zorif seemed to calm down he stopped growling "whats wrong?" I asked again

'that man, be careful he's bad news' I nodded, stood and blinked to the throne room I opened the door and walked in there was a man standing near the door he was about six feet tall he had brown eyes and had brown shoulder length hair I don't think they have barbers on Orion the planet I smiled inwardly and walked past him to my throne, I sat down then looked at his shocked face "how may I help you?" I asked he smiled

"I'm sorry little girl" he started in disgust "but I'm looking for the king, you know king Richard" I smiled 

"my my my where have you been?" I said as I shook my head "king Richard is dead he was killed by his grandaughter" he looked more shoked "and that grandaughter is me" I said as I pointed to myself

"oh how old are you ten?" he said again in disgust

"sixteen actually" I told him "now lets try again shall we, why are you here?"

"the king of Orion wants to see you" I nodded 

"he can come by anytime he wants" the man shook his head and laughed 

"my king will not come here you will go to him" I stood up and started to walk towards him slowly 

"if your king want's to see me then he will come here"

"he can't he has a kingdom to run"

"and you think I don't?" i said in a low menacing voice the man gulped 

"you're a girl you can go and see him" that did it I put my hand out palm and fingers facing up when a fire ball appered the man took a step back 

"tell your king if he wants to see the queen of Enidan he shall come here or you can tell me what he wants either way I am not .leaving. this. planet" I said saying the last part slowly he was looking at the fire ball in my hand I closed my hand and the ball dissapeared he looked at me and gulped he looked a little pale I smiled, turned and walked back to the throne and sat down "so tell me what does your king want?"

"its that time of  year again" he said getting a bit of colour back in his face I frowned not knowing what he was talking about he noticed this and started to explain using his hands for emphsis "you know where we buy the girls of your planet"

"WHAT?" I screamed slamming my hands on the arms of the throne as I got up again the man took a step back 

"we buy girls from you every year we buy girls the age of twelve and keep them as slaves or we use them to make our children" he explained in a low scared voice a voice that was barely audible I closed my eyes trying to calm down I didn't want to burst into flames which I knew would happen if I didn't calm down I could feel the flames coming to the surface

"get. out. now" I whispered but I knew he heard me 

""what?,  I need the girls now" my eyes opened and I saw red my body started to shake as the flames began to raise further to the surface 

"get out if you want to live" I stated menacingly he looked pale as he turned to leave "tell your king the deal is off you can't have anymore girls" he turned to me to argue but he didn't say anything just left I let out a sigh and sat down Zorif walked in 'told you he ws bad news, are you alright' i nodded not trusting my voice to speak, Zorif came closer and curled up at my feet i bent down and patted his head, feeling tired i stood and told Zorif i was going to my room to rest he just nodded and i blinked to my room it was still a replica of my old room, i could still smell a faint smell of fire, i threw myself on the bed and soon fell into a dreamless sleep
