Mateo sighed, "She's been in my heart since day one."
"You've been in my mind for twenty years." Lucy smiled.
"Look, just tell Valentina that you don't like me."
Lucy bursted into laughter. "Do you seriously think that I would allow that to happen?"
Mateo folded his arms. "Do you want a one sided love marriage then?"
Lucy then told him that she didn't mind as long as she had him.
"You're the most obnoxious woman I've met."
"Marry me or watch your precious Mia die."
The prince shouted, "You—"
"Didn't Valentina tell you already? It's your decision," Lucy interrupted.
"Fine, I'll marry you."
"What? I can't hear you."
"I said I'll marry you!" Mateo shouted as he went to Antonio's room.
When he arrived, he told Antonio that he never knew that his sister lacked discernment. Antonio then asked why he was angry.
Mateo looked at the window beside him. "I decided to marry her because if not, Valentina will kill Mia."
Antonio's eyes widened. "She what?"
"You seem surprised."
"Valentina told me that you wanted to marry her willingly."
"Look, I already have a person who I love, so I can't marry your sister."
Antonio then told him that it wasn't for him to decide. If he just knew about it earlier, he would've talked to Valentina about it already. But now that it's too late, they can't cancel the marriage.
Mateo punched the wall. "Isn't there any other way?"
"The only way is if Lucy announces that she doesn't want to marry you."
Mateo fell to his knees. "This is hopeless."
"Lucy has liked you for a long time. Why not give her a chance?" the king said.
"Antonio, I already have someone who I love."
"I'll give you a chance to fix everything, Mateo."
Mateo looked at him. "What chance?"
Antonio sighed, "I'll pospone the wedding. You have a month to convince Lucy to cancel it."
"That's impossible."
"Take it or leave it," Antonio responded.
Mateo smiled. "I guess it's worth a try."
"Then I'll inform Lucy and Valentina about this too."
"Thank you, Antonio."
The next day...
(In the dining hall)
Valentina asked Antonio why he wanted to postpone the wedding. The king then told her that they needed to be more comfortable with each other because they just met not long ago.
The queen turned to look at the princess. "Are you okay with this?"
"It's fine." Lucy smiled.
"How about Mateo?" Antonio asked.
Mateo rolled his eyes. "Same."
After breakfast, Lucy and Mateo went to the royal garden. As the princess followed him, Mateo told her to stay away. Lucy then laughed and told him that she didn't have a reason to because she was his fiancé.
The prince walked faster. "You disgust me."
Lucy grabbed his arm. "I'll make you fall for me."
"Give up. My feelings for Mia won't change."
"No matter what you say, I won't."
"I'm going back to my room," Mateo said as he started walking away.
While Lucy was walking back to the dining hall, she suddenly lost her balance, but before she was able to fall, she felt an arm wrapped around her waist.
She looked at the man. "Thank you."
The man smiled. "Be careful, your highness."
"What is your name?" Lucy asked.
"I'm Josh, the head general of this kingdom."
Josh, the most talented general of the Earth kingdom, never fails to impress different kinds of people. He's notorious for being gentle and kind, but he's the exact opposite when he's in training.
Lucy brought out her hand. "Nice to meet you then, Josh."
The general shook her hand. "You must be the fiancé of prince Mateo. Welcome to the Earth kingdom."
"Thank you."
"Your highness, if you would excuse me, I need to go and prepare for training," Josh said as he headed towards the training center.
When Lucy arrived at the dining hall, she saw her brother eating. She then went closer and asked him why he was still eating so late. Antonio then sighed and told her to sit down because he needed to talk to her.
"What's the problem?" the princess asked as she sat down.
The king sighed, "Move on."
"If you're talking about Mateo, there's no way I'm doing that."
"You'll just get hurt in the end."
"It's worth a try."
Antonio then explained that she needed to consider Mateo's feelings and that it's better seeing him with the one he loves rather than forcing him to like you.
"What do you mean?" Lucy asked.
The king leaned back on his chair. "Don't you want Mateo to have a joyful life?"
"I do."
"Then let him go. He won't be happy if he's with you."
"You can't foresee the future."
"I've experienced it."
"You mean rose?"
"Yes. I did pursue her, but she loved someone else. I didn't force her to marry me because she is happy with another man," Antonio explained.
"Well maybe that only applies to you," Lucy responded.
"Up to you then."
"I won't regret anything, brother."
