He Is Mine

(At the Earth kingdom)

"Seems like the princess has fallen for you," Mark began.

Mark, the general's best friend, had always been the number one person Josh trusted the most. Josh's entire family died many years back, so Mark was like a brother to him.

"I don't like her," Josh lied.

"Tell me, why are you saying that you don't like her when you have the chance right in front of you?" Mark wrapped his arms around his shoulder.

"We're not compatible."

"Just because of your status? The king and queen has already agreed for the princess to date you."

"I've already told you that I don't like her."

"You can't deceive me, Josh. We've been best friends since birth."

Josh begged, "Mark, please stop—"

Before Josh could continue, a girl came and smiled at Josh. The general then asked the woman why she came.

"It's my break and I wanted to see you." she smiled.

Josh scratched his head. "Oh, that's great, Charlotte."

Charlotte, one of the maids in the Earth kingdom, has always been trying to win Josh's heart, but always failed. Every man working for the king and queen would fall for her, but she only liked one person, the general.

Charlotte handed him a bottle of water "You must be thirsty."

"Thanks."

"Then I'll be heading back now."

When Charlotte left, Mark said, "That was indeed an awkward conversation."

The general responded, "She keeps clinging to me. Help me get rid of her."

"I can't. She seems to like you."

"I don't think so."

Mark then asked if he'd choose the Princess or Charlotte. Josh smiled and told him that he'd rather be single than marry any of them.

Mark said, "You know why a lot of girls fall for you? It's because of your sense of humor."

"That's it?"

"Probably your hospitality too."

Josh stood up. "Let's go. Our break is almost over."

Mark folded his arms. "I have a question."

"Go on."

"Will you give the princess a chance?"

"Maybe. Depends on my mood," Josh replied.

Mark sighed, "You're really full of surprises."

(In the royal hall)

Lucy told the king that Josh has been avoiding her since the day she confessed. Antonio then assumed that Josh just needed time.

The princess rested her chin on her hand. "Is it so hard to decide?"

Antonio patted her shoulder. "It's harder than you think."

"What's there not to like about me?"

"You're attitude."

Lucy sighed, "You don't need to be frank."

Antonio chuckled. "Didn't you ask me? I just answered your question."

"So you're telling me to change my attitude?"

"For your information, most people don't consider you virtuous."

Lucy then asked the king on what she should do. Antonio smiled and told her that she should act like Mia.

"How does she even act?" the princess asked.

Antonio responded, "Weren't you love rivals? You're suppose to know."

The princess then realized what her brother meant.

Lucy's eyes widened. "Are you telling me to be poise?"

"Not only that. You have to also show him your determination in seeking his attention," the king replied.

"We're already friends."

"Then why's he avoiding you lately?" the king asked.

Lucy was then left speechless.

Antonio smirked. "You might wanna speed up. Charlotte has been eyeing Josh lately."

"You mean the maid that cleans our room? What makes you think I'll lose to her?"

"Do you think that Josh likes girls like you? He wants a girl that acts like a lady."

"Are you insulting me? When have I never acted like a lady?"

"A lot of times."

Lucy sighed, "You know what? Don't even mention it."

"I've given you my advice. Anymore questions?" the king said.

"Can I give up?"

"Your telling me that you're giving up on him? Then let me ask you. Why didn't you give up on Mateo that easily too?"

"Josh is different. I think it's a waste of time."

Antonio then asked his sister if she really wanted him. The princess nodded.

The king leaned back on his chair. "Then go for it!"

Lucy responded, "I'm sure that Charlotte isn't the only one that likes him..."

"So? It doesn't mean you don't have a chance. It's worth a try," Antonio said.

"You're so supportive."

"Why not? I'm your older brother."

"Do you think that Valentina would do the same?" the princess asked.

"Most likely not. She's just a stern and prideful woman."

"Why did you marry her then?"

Antonio then explained that Valentina might look like she doesn't care, but deep inside, she actually does.

Lucy sighed, "Then why is Valentina so mean to me lately?"

The king smiled and told her that she shouldn't misunderstand her because Valentina just wants what's best.

"I see. Thank you for giving me the motivation. I'll try to win his heart then."
