A few days later...
(At the Water kingdom)
"You must be really thrilled to see me everyday," Leo began.
The princess started walking away. "You tricked me."
Leo followed her. "I thought you would be waiting for me."
"I did."
"Oh really?"
"Yes, you—"
Before Eleanor was able to continue, Leo pulled her into a hug and told her that he was glad that he gets to have her in his arms again. Eleanor's eyes then widened as she tried to escape his arms.
"Leo, what are you doing?" Eleanor asked.
"I'm hugging you," Leo answered.
"Someone might see us."
"So what? Everyone knows that we're childhood sweethearts."
"Leo, stop. This is embarrassing."
"Eleanor, don't you see me in that way?" Leo responded as he let her go.
Eleanor fixed her dress. "What way?"
"The love way."
"Why wouldn't I? Shouldn't I love my best friend?"
Leo then smiled and told her that he liked her. As soon as Eleanor heard that, she bursted into laughter before telling him that she liked him as a friend too.
Leo grabbed her shoulders. "Eleanor, I like you not as a friend."
The princess asked, "Are you joking?"
"I'm not. I want to be more than friends."
"What do you want me to say then?"
"Yes or no," Leo answered.
Eleanor said, "Leo, I just—"
"You actually believe everything I said?" Leo interrupted.
"Leo!"
"Sorry, I was just joking with you."
Eleanor folded her arms. "Don't play with my feelings."
Leo brought his face closer. "Why? You like me?"
"You narcissist!"
"Oh well, I guess I fooled you."
"You made it sound like it was real."
"Thank you, I'm a professional."
"Give me a break, Leo." Eleanor giggled.
Leo smiled. "You're just too gullible."
A few hours later,
(In the dining hall)
"That's just absurd," said Mateo.
Leo started walking around in circles. "I just couldn't."
"Why didn't you get straight to the point?"
"I'm just afraid that she wouldn't like me back."
"Look, you'll never make her yours if you keep holding it back."
"Mateo, it's not that easy to confess."
"You like her and yet you took it as a joke?"
Leo apologized, "I'm sorry."
The king shook his head. "You're hurting her feelings, Leo."
"What do you mean?"
The king then explained that one of the things that women hate the most is boys playing with their feelings. It might seem like a joke to other people, but that can actually ruin their life.
Leo sat down. "Is there any way that I could make it up to her?"
Mateo looked at the book he was holding. "Don't bring that up ever again unless you're ready to confess."
(In the throne room)
The queen asked her sister if she felt the same way as Leo did if ever he truly liked her. Eleanor then sighed and told her that she didn't know because she's never actually thought about it.
"Why not give him a chance if ever he did really like you?" the queen smirked.
"Mia, I like someone and I've loved this man for quite a long time."
"Have you ever thought if he liked you back?"
"I always do, but I just can't understand him."
"Why?"
Eleanor then explained that the man she liked treated her differently. They've been through a lot, but he's never actually looked at her in that love way. Mia patted her sister's shoulder and told her that maybe she just doesn't see him looking at her in that way.
Eleanor looked at the ceiling. "He's been really kind to me, but I want to be more than just that."
The queen smirked. "That's Cameron isn't it?"
"No, it isn't."
"Yes, it is."
The princess folded her arms. "Okay, fine. It's him. I love everything about him. His smile, his attitude, his eyes, all make my heart wanna explode. He's perfect."
Mia giggled. "There's nothing wrong with liking him."
"I was afraid to tell you."
The queen then told her that whoever she'll end up with, she'll always support her till the very end.
"What if Cameron doesn't like me back?"
"Then we can't do anything about it, Eleanor," the queen answered.
"I guess I'll just have to make him fall in love with me in the right time," Eleanor sighed.
"That's right, but for now we'll have to focus on bringing father and mother back."
"I'll do my best."
"I know you will."
