We’re Servants

A few days later, the king and the prince finally arrived at their destination.

(At the Water kingdom)

"You lied to me," Carson sighed.

"What's wrong with being a servant?" Cameron asked.

"We just arrived yesterday and I'm so exhausted."

Cameron giggled. "By the way, you look good in that wig."

"You are just being—"

Before he was able to finish, someone came and told them to start cleaning. Both Cameron and Carson then looked back and saw the head maid of the Water kingdom, Alice.

Carson whispered, "Cam, I've never cleaned anything before."

"Do it for the gem," Cameron said.

A few hours later...

(In the throne room)

"What are their names?" Mateo asked.

"Charles and Benjamin," Alice replied.

The queen sat on her chair. "What about them?"

Alice scratched her head. "They just arrived a few days ago and they seem to have no experience."

"Then why did you hire them?"

"I just found them interesting." Alice smiled.

"What's with them?" the king asked.

Alice assumed that Charles and Benjamin wasn't after for money. The queen then laughed and told her that she was just thinking too much.

Mateo smiled. "If they're doing their job well, then there's no need to."

"You seem really worried, would you like us to speak with them?" the queen asked.

Alice replied, "It's fine, your majesty. It's better if you keep your faces hidden."

"What's wrong?"

"Remember that the princess stole the red gem? King Cameron must be really angry by now."

"What do you mean?" Mia asked

Alice then explained that King Cameron must've sent someone to retrieve the gem and those men he sent might me Charles and Benjamin.

Mia asked, "How did—"

Before she was able to continue, a woman came and told the queen that she needed to talk to her. Mia then looked back and saw that it was her younger sister, Eleanor.

(In the princess's bedroom)

The queen asked what the princess wanted to talk about. Eleanor then looked at the floor and told her that Leo had already confessed to her.

Mia laughed. "You believe that? When did he tell you?"

Eleanor sank into her chair. "Around a week ago."

"Is that the reason why you've been so quiet all this time?"

"He sounded serious, Mia."

"What do you think of him then?"

"I don't know. I've actually never thought about it."

Mia folded her arms. "Well you better give him an answer."

Eleanor sighed, "Can I not? I don't want to hurt his feelings."

The queen then explained that if she didn't tell him straight what she really felt, it would just mean that she was giving him hope.

The princess responded, "I don't wanna think about it."

"Then think about this, who do you really like? Cameron or Leo?" the queen asked.

"None."

"Didn't you just tell me that you liked Cameron the other day?"

Eleanor looked at the ceiling. "I don't now. He's our rival."

"Not necessarily. We just needed the red gem. Once we bring it back, it'll be okay."

"Do you want me with Leo?"

Mia then explained that she'd rather choose Cameron than Leo because she didn't trust him. When Leo came back a few weeks ago, it was all too sudden. He wasn't the Leo they knew back then.

Eleanor asked, "Didn't he say that mother lied to us about his death?"

Mia answered, "I don't believe she did. Mother would always tell us the truth."

"I think so too."

"He's being devious."

"What would he even do to us?"

Mia assumed, "He's probably after you."

"Why do you say so?" the princess asked.

"Remember that only a few people know that the blue gem is in your heart and that includes Leo."

"What do you mean?"

"Once we combine the two gems, you'll be the most power being in this world..."

Eleanor chuckled. "Don't act like an ominous woman."

Mia sighed, "I assume that he plans to use you to get what he wants."

"What do you think is that want then?"

"Probably the throne."

"Are you serious?"

"It's just an assumption."

The princess started massaging her sister's head. "Just relax your mind. You've been through a lot."

"You too. Olivia told me that we can't proceed if you're still thinking and worrying about Leo."
