The next day...
(At the Earth kingdom)
Antonio and Valentina told Gabriel that they'd be leaving in a few days because they needed to help Mateo. Gabriel then asked who will take care of him while they are away.
Antonio smiled. "Ruby will. We trust her, so you do not have to worry. You're in good hands."
"I've known her for quite a while. She'll protect you if anything happens," the queen added.
"All of you are leaving me?" Gabriel said as tears started falling from his face.
Antonio wiped the little boy's tears. "We'll be back as soon as possible."
A few hours later...
(In the royal hall)
"Antonio, are you sure about this? It's too dangerous," Valentina asked.
"Yes, we wouldn't want anyone else to be killed," the king replied.
"Helping them could put our lives at risk too."
"Valentina, an innocent maid was already murdered here. Do you think that they're doing this for noting? They might even aim for the Wind kingdom too."
"I appreciate that you're really hard working on ruling both the Earth and Wind kingdom, but I don't think that we're in the right age for that."
The king turned his head. "Are you telling me that we're old?"
"Of course not. I'm just saying that we also have to fret about our safety." Valentina chuckled.
Antonio responded, "Gabriel will be fine without us, I promise."
"It was just a maidservant that was killed. Her death isn't the most consequential among all."
"I've already told you that we're—"
Before the king was able to finish, Alice suddenly came and told them that Ruby has arrived. The king and queen then proceeded to the throne room.
(In the throne room)
"You want me? To take care of Gabriel? I can't do that!" Ruby laughed.
"We've already told you the reason why," Valentina responded.
"Look, I have no experience in taking care of a child."
"Gabriel isn't a child."
"Then what do you expect from an eight year old?"
"Gabriel is independent, Ruby. You don't need to worry about it too much," Antonio said.
"You have tons of maids, but why me?" Ruby asked.
"We trust you."
"What? Why?"
"Anything can happen to Gabriel, and who knows? Someone might actually betray us behind our backs."
"Am I really your one and only option?"
"Yes, and Gabriel seems to be looking forward to spending time with you."
"Fine, I'll do it," Ruby sighed.
"Thank you, please keep him safe while we're away." Valentina smiled.
"You do know that Mia and Mateo are in danger right?"
"How-How did you know?"
Ruby rolled her eyes. "They told me."
"That's why we're helping them. We've already identified the main culprit, Albert," the king said.
Ruby responded, "You-You mean the..."
"That's right. Cameron's father."
"He's targeting the Water kingdom first, but next in line is the Earth kingdom," Ruby sighed.
"What will he even benefit from doing all this?" Valentina asked.
"He wants the red and blue gem," Antonio answered.
"Then he'll be aiming for the white and green gem next," Ruby added.
"Antonio, if you knew what his intentions were, why didn't you just tell King Mateo?" the queen asked.
"I have my own reasons."
"Like what? The main culprit is in there place, and you're just going to keep quiet?"
"Valentina, it's too dangerous. Why do you think we're just going there instead of telling them?" Antonio responded. "It's because it'll just harm them."
