Let Me

A month later...

(At the Earth kingdom)

While Ruby was on her way to the kitchen, she saw Gabriel's bedroom door open, so she decided to close it since no one was in the room, but as she took a few steps closer to his room, he saw Gabriel cleaning his room. She then asked him why he was doing that.

Gabriel looked at her with bright smile. "I'm doing it with my own will."

Ruby clapped. "When your parents come back, they'll surely be proud of you."

"I know."

Ruby handed him a note. "They've sent you something."

Gabriel scanned the letter. "Again?"

"What does it say?"

"They won't be back till they kill Licia."

"Do they have any idea where she is now?" Ruby asked.

"No, they've searched everywhere. She's no where to be found," Gabriel replied.

"What about—"

Before she was able to continue, a servant suddenly came and informed that Charlotte and Mark has arrived.

(In the royal hall)

"We're back, Gabriel," said Charlotte.

A little boy ran to hug her. "I missed you!"

"Gabriel, how about me?" Mark folded his arms.

Gabriel responded, "I missed you too, but I miss Charlotte more."

Ruby asked, "Why didn't you come back with the others?"

Mark then explained that King Antonio decided to let them come back first because it was too crowded in the Water kingdom.

Gabriel sighed, "When is father and mother coming back?"

"Until everything is solved," Mark replied.

"That's gonna take forever."

Mark motioned his hands to the room. "Gabriel, could you go back to your room first? Charlotte and I need to have a word with Ruby."

"Sure, take your time," Gabriel responded.

When Gabriel left, Charlotte asked Ruby if she knew that King Cameron was assumed to be dead. Ruby then nodded and told her that his body hasn't been found yet, according to the letter that King Antonio and Queen Valentina sent.

Mark interrupted, "We're all assuming he's dead. It's impossible for an intruder to survive once their skin touches the water."

Charlotte sighed, "He wasn't an intruder."

"As of now, only Jack is the one confirmed dead."

"What are you trying to say?"

Charlotte then explained that Valentina has told them to tell her that she should stay longer to protect Gabriel since a lot of people despise I'm because of his social status.

Ruby tied her hair. "Who would despise a prince?"

"The commoner's hearts are filled with jealousy. They can do anything to him."

"Why can't you just ask the royal soldiers? Why does it have to be me?"

"You're one of a kind," Mark responded. "You're probably unaware, but you actually have some power within you."

Ruby laughed. "Power? Are you joking?"

"It just hasn't been activated."

"Look, how could a commoner like me—"

"You were born with it."

Ruby then explained that she can't just stay at the Earth kingdom and wait till King Antonio and Queen Valentina comes back because she has some family and friends waiting for her too.

"We're not like you who can protect Gabriel," Charlotte sighed.

"I don't think that anything will happen if I'm not around," Ruby said clutching her dress.

"No one knows that."

"I've looked after Gabriel for over one and a half month, and your asking me to extend my stay without even getting anything back?"

"They'll pay you."

"Is that what you all think of me? Do you think all I care about is money?"

"Ruby, that's not what we meant. Didn't you say that you wanted something in return?"

"I want to go back home! Is that so hard to ask?" Ruby shouted.

Mark got on his knees. "Ruby, we beg you."

Ruby rolled her eyes. "Get up."

"We're all doing this for the sake of Gabriel's safety."

"Fine, but in one condition."

Mark stood up. "Really?"

"I'll do it if you help King Mateo."

"What are you talking about? Aren't we helping him?" Charlotte asked.

"Keep him, his wife and their baby safe," Ruby answered.

"Queen Mia's pregnant?" Mark shouted.

"Yes, so do we got a deal?"

"No problem. I'll inform King Antonio about it."
