A few weeks later...
(At an unknown place)
"Let me out, please," Cameron begged.
"What's wrong? Do you not like staying in a cage?" Licia laughed.
"It's been half a month. Let me go."
"I've already told you that I won't, and you know why."
"I'll give you anything. Please just let me go."
Licia then told him that she started pitying him, so she's changed her mind. She's letting him out in one condition, and that is to tell Eleanor that he loves someone else now.
As soon as Cameron heard that, anger started piling up. He'd never do anything to break Eleanor's heart. She was his only happiness in life, the only woman he ever loved truly.
Cameron's eyes widened. "You know that I'd never agree to that!"
"Instead of making her wait, why not just show up and tell her everything? The sooner you tell her, the better."
"How many times do I have to tell you that we're never—"
"I don't need you to love me, Cameron. What I want is for you to break her heart."
"I'd rather die than do that!"
Licia played with the tips of her hair. "Haven't you guys ended your relationship already? It'll be easier for you to say it."
"How-How did you know?"
"That's not what's important. The thing is, why do you still love her? You aren't together, yet you're always thinking about her."
Cameron looked at the ceiling. "I still love her. She just needed a break, and I'm willing to wait for her."
Licia laughed. "You're willing to wait for her, but you didn't even wait for me?"
"Our relationship was different."
"You've been with me longer! How can you say that you'll wait for her, and not me?"
"You don't deserve my patience, Licia. You never will."
Licia clenched her fist. "Don't piss me off."
"I cannot love anyone else the way I love Eleanor. When I first met her, my heart pounded not because she reminded me of you, it's because I've finally found the missing piece of my heart."
Licia threw the book she was reading onto the floor. "Are you just going to tell me how your love story started?"
"You broke my heart, Licia. We're over."
"Is it that hard to give me a second chance? Everyone makes mistakes! Why can't you just let it go?"
Cameron yelled, "Leaving me on the day of our wedding? Do you think it'll be easy to let that go?"
"I had to attend something!" Licia shouted.
"Well, why didn't you just tell me? I waited there looking like a fool!"
Licia looked at him. "I'm sorry."
"Your apologizing after four years? Have some shame."
"Look, I know that I've hurt you, but I didn't mean it!"
Cameron rolled his eyes. "I don't want to hear your explanation. We're just wasting each other's time."
"I went to the wedding."
Cameron's eyes widened. "What?"
Licia then explained that a few hours after the wedding ended, she came. No one el ese was there except her. She was still wearing the wedding gown at that time. She was a late because her father had an emergency. Then ever since that day, she tried looking for him everywhere, but he was no where to be found. Until one day, she met his father. Albert to,d her that he'd let her be with him if I'd help him with his plan, and so she did.
"Don't expect me to feel guilty after everything you've said."
"You were wrong all these years," Licia responded.
"I'm sorry, but I've fallen for another woman."
"Now that you know the truth, let's bring our relationship back."
"Look, I have no idea whether you're telling the truth or not, but even if you are, my answer will still be the same."
"Cameron, I'm not lying. All these years, a lot of men wanted to pursue me, but I refused because of you."
"I appreciate that, but you'll just have to find the right person for you when the time comes."
Tears started falling from Licia's eyes. "I wanted it to be you!"
Cameron looked away. "Well, we aren't meant to be."
"That's it? Are you just going to say that? Do you not pity me?"
"Even if I do, there's nothing we can do about it. It's all in the past."
"You were the one at fault because you hid from me!"
"It's been four years, don't bring it up."
"Fine, but for now, think about how you'll be able to face Eleanor when the time comes," Licia said as she was clutching her dress.
