I Love You

(At the Fire kingdom)

"Mother, is the food ready?" a little boy asked.

"Not yet. Are you already hungry?" Eleanor patted his head.

"Yes, but I can hold it a little bit longer."

"Mother, when will I be able to get to play with Ava again?"

"Aiden, your father and I are occupied with work lately."

Aiden gave his cutest smile. "Mother, can't you just ask Aunt Kaycee to bring me there?"

"She's busy preparing for her wedding—"

Before she was able to finish a servant came and informed that the food was ready. Eleanor then looked at her son and told him to eat first since she needed to talk to Cameron.

(In the master's bedroom)

"Aiden's been telling me that we aren't giving him much time," Eleanor began.

Cameron gave her a back hug. "Why don't we try taking a vacation then?"

"I don't think he'd appreciate that. He's only three."

"Kids like him needs to be given attention."

Eleanor sighed, "I never knew that this would be problematic—"

Before she was able to finish, the king suddenly covered her eyes and told her that she was forgetting something. Eleanor then asked what he was talking about.

Cameron frowned. "Do you really not know? I'm disappointed."

"What is it...?"

Cameron removed his hands. "This."

When Eleanor opened her eyes, she saw a tiny box on top of their bed. She then opened it and saw drawings of Aiden inside.

"What is this?" Eleanor held the drawing.

"Do you not remember? It's our wedding anniversary."

Tears started falling from the queen's eyes. "I-I completely forgot."

"A few days ago, I told Aiden to draw pictures of us."

As soon as she heard what Cameron said, she cried louder. All those memories in the past, she recollected it. She felt both joyful and unhappy at the same time. Among all the things Aiden could draw, why did he choose to draw them?

Eleanor kissed his cheek. "Thank you."

"It took a me a while before I was able to decide what to give you for our anniversary."

She wrapped her arms around him. "This drawing is more than enough for me."

"I wanted to give you something more, but Aiden told me that it didn't matter to you."

"All I want is you, Cameron. Today, tomorrow, next week, and for the rest of my life."

The king pulled her closer. "Don't you think that we should change the way we call each other?"

"What-What? Do you feel uncomfortable if I call you by your name?"

"I want a change. Something like darling."

For a few seconds, Eleanor just stared at him in astonishment. She didn't know how to respond. Darling? She's never actually called him by that. She was used to calling him by his name, and now he wanted to change it to darling? The more she thought about it, the faster her heart beat was. What was he thinking? Did he expect her to adjust that easily?

"Eleanor?" Cameron called for the third time.

The queen snapped back to her senses. "Ah, Yes?"

"What do you say, darling?"

"Why-Why did you call me that? Just call me by my name."

Cameron kissed her neck. "I'll keep kissing you if you don't call me darling."

Eleanor folded her arms. "I have a choice not to do that."

"I am the king. Shouldn't you obey me?"

"I'm the queen, so shouldn't you—"

Cameron kissed her lips. "Stop making excuses."

"I'm never gonna call you by that," Eleanor said with her lips close to his.

"Then I'll make you," Cameron responded.

He then kissed her lips, carried her by the waist, and brought her to the bed. Eleanor then started pulling him closer as he deepened the kiss. There wasn't even a moment of hesitation. She then cupped his face with her eyes closed as his lips started traveling to her cheek and down to her neck.

Eleanor broke the kiss. "We should stop. Aiden's waiting for us."

"You haven't called me darling yet." Cameron smirked.

"What will you do if I don't?"

"Then you can't get out of this room."

"That's fine. The door's locked."

Cameron kissed her forehead. "Darling, what makes you so sure about that?"

After taking a closer look at the door, the queen realized that the door was left unlocked. She then started panicking as Cameron just stood in front of her, laughing. What should she do? If she doesn't follow him, then Aiden might see them kissing. As a mother, she can never let him see that!

"Have you made up your mind?" the king asked.

Eleanor looked away. "I-I love you, darling."

"That's how I like it."

"Can I get out now...?"

"Of course you can't, you're mine which means I don't share," Cameron said before claiming her mouth again and again.

It might take weeks, it might take years, but what's meant to be will always find its way. Eleanor never imagined that Cameron would fall in love with her, but like people say, we fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time. To love is nothing, to be loved is something, but to be loved by the person you love means everything.
