It's been many months since the mysterious light struck the earth, yet what everyone had feared is yet to come.
Every kingdom or continent had its guards on, not willing to be caught off guard. It doesn't matter how long it takes, such a mysterious event would certainly lead to an unpleasant occurrence... They are not wrong.
In a very developed city many weeks away from Skyrock, life looks more wonderful over here. With a glance, it is no doubt that this is a place solely for the rich and powerful.
There is almost no end to how vast the city is. Walls in form of a watchtower protected it from the outside world.
A few warriors are patrolling every corner of the city, especially the walls. Their job, of course, is to protect her from anyone who would be a threat to the land, and they have been doing a great job so far... until...
"Rooaarrr!!!*
*BOOM!!*
Explosive energy broke through the entrance of the city, which sent most of the guards to the sky. Their agonizing screams filled the air. This caught a lot of attention. However, the thick smoke limited their sight, and no one could fully discern what had happened.
The ground shook as some kind of unknown creature came to their point of view. Its glimmering eyes are visible within the fume.
"A magical beast,"
"No, this is different... I'm not sure why it feels that way," one warrior said.
The creature is a Bear that is way more terrifying. It is many feet tall, a lot larger than the regular Bear, even taller when it is standing on its two feet. Parting its mouth, an energy ball gradually forms in between, and is emitting a very disturbing aura.
"Run!!"
Survival instinct kicks in, and the civilians flee for their lives... except, they acted too late.
The Magical Beast shot its energy blast towards them. However, a warrior appeared in between and enchanted a magical word. As a result, a huge Magical Circle blocks the attack from going any further. This gave the civilians enough time to make a run for it... or at least, it tried to.
"Shit! I can't hold it back," says the guard.
He is getting pushed back, and his defensive Circular Halo is breaking. It's just a matter of time before the worse happens.
Two other fellow guards joined him as they cast their defensive spell to last a little longer. The energy blast broke through their defense and struck all three of them, incinerating them into a barbecue.
The explosive power brought everything it touches down to nothing. Properties suffered the most, a few civilians who weren't fast enough did not survive.
More defenders appeared, many of them leaping from one roof to another to avoid getting blown, and this worked... for a few of them.
Several Mages came together and enchanted a magic word in unison, saying; "Fire style, Dragon's breath,"
In synchronized movements, all seven Mage took in a deep breath, and in the next moment, a surge of flame shot out from their mouths towards the beast. Their joined attacks slowed down the giant bear... It slowed it down, but was nowhere close to stopping it.
With a single swing, the enormous Beast smashed three buildings at once. This is where the Mages are located and five of them got sent to the sky, the rest were still fortunate enough to escape... that is what I would like to say, however, one of them got blown to oblivion and the other one got squeezed to death.
... All seven mages died.
Its anger increased as more defenders kept coming. The end result remained the same. More gruesome occurred.
With a rumble in the clouds, a blue bolt of lightning struck the beast right from the sky, immobilizing it for a while.
*Fffffttt!!*
Its left arm got slit off by a Mage, most likely the same one who had summoned the lightning bolt. This person had a more superior demeanor compare to the others...
"The Matriarch's son is here!!"
"We are saved!"
The presence of this Mage brought the other mages at ease and thus, this boost their morale.
"Keep the civilians safe, make sure they are far off from here as much as possible," says the so-called matriarch's son. His expression, as you might have expected, is stern.
The giant bear roared in a fit of elevated anger due to its pain. Locking on its target, which is the Matriarch's son, it shot a concentrated energy beam to this individual.
With a slight swing, the Matriarch's son tore through the blast with his sword, effectively deflecting it in two different directions. This action led to properties of all sorts getting caught up in flames as repeated explosions resounded.
"Killer_Blade, lightning cut," The Matriarch's son called Anwyl enchants and as a result, eleven gigantic swords in form of lightning appeared around him and shot their way towards the Beast.
*"Shunk! Plorkk! Sphhhit! Thump! Shank! Fffftt!*
Stabbed multiple times is as disturbing as should be, but the creature wasn't going down, not yet. In actuality, Anwyl sensed a difference in its demeanor, almost like it still has something up its sleeve.
The Beast's severed right arm was replaced by dark energy. Multiple balls of orbs appeared and increases in size by absorbing natural energy from the surrounding.
"Take cover!" says Anwyl in panic.
*Peww!!*
*KaBoom!! BadaBoom!! Bwroom!!*
Eruptions of alarming heights occurred. This took more lives.
"Call for backup, now!!"
"I will do just so," says a Mage before warping off.
Most of the city has been brought to ruin, yet the only damage they inflicted on this otherworldly foe seems very insignificant.
"Do not falter. Give your lives and protect the city. Your deeds will never be forgotten,"
Anwyl's words encourage the Mages once again, especially those who had previously lost their will.
Encircling the beast from a safe distance, five mages from all corners cast a linked sealing spell and trapped the creature.
Unlike most of their futile efforts, the beast could not break through this one (not yet). The barrier shook as it tried to break it down.
"It won't hold much longer. Let's take it out while we still can,"
"Yeeeaaahhh!!!"
Magical lights of different colors flashed as the mages kept hurling spells at their gigantic foe.
*ROOAAARRR!!!*
The enormous bear finally broke through by fusing three explosions. Anwyl had expected this, and an additional barrier had already been prepared just ahead of the first.
With both hands to the sky, a deadly explosive ball materializes. Its aura is far disturbing than anything they had experienced since the attack.
Uttering no words, they all retreated as fast as they could, keeping a safe distance... or what they thought was safe.
The barrier broke down as an eruption of great feat expanded.
Its powerful impact knocked everything out of control and the massive combustion disintegrated those it came in contact with, living or non-living being. The floor ripped apart into different smaller boulders, and this kept broadening for a long time.
Those who witnessed this sight trembled. Those who had made it to safety were indeed grateful to be alive.
"There's more!"
The otherworldly being raised both hands to the sky once, preparing to repeat the same attack as the first.
The noise of a bird with its loud flaps got the Mages' attention as they all looked up to the sky. There, a huge flying creature could be seen many meters from the ground. Riding this being is a female mage everyone recognizes.
"Syden?" Anwyl mumbled. He wasn't expecting to see her.
She shot out multiple pinkish laser beams as they tore their way towards the wild beast.
The pinkish beam opened several holes on the beast's body, but the largest hole is at the chest, which vaporized whatever was left of the creature's Mana Core.
Seconds later, the enormous creature fell to the ground, undoubtedly dead.
"Took you long enough," says Anwyl in relief.
