"Where would it have hidden?" The elderly woman asked.
"I do not know," says the male cook in reply.
These two are still zealously searching for the little Squirrel, but with no luck, at least, not yet.
Unknown to them, Ambrose is currently hiding among the endless rooms in the building and he stayed there until they passed by.
*sigh*
"That was a close one," Ambrose mumbles in relief, "Next time you should be more careful," he spoke to the little creature currently hiding in his chest pocket.
Finally turning his attention to the room he was in, he got taken aback by the many books lined up cleanly. This is indeed a library, and an interesting one at that.
With an elevated interest, Ambrose stayed a little more and surveyed this place.
So for the next seven minutes, Ambrose kept searching for a book that might interest him.
"Who are you?"
A feminine voice came to his ears from a distance. There, he caught sight of an older girl who seems to be in her teenage years since there are a few blossoms present on her... If you know what I mean.
"What are you doing here?" she asked once again.
Behind her stood a younger female, most likely her sister, since they kind of look alike. This one is still too young, probably the same age as Ambrose. The younger one wears a recommended eyeglass on her and probably can't see clearly without it... I'm not sure, just saying.
"Um... I lost my way," says Ambrose.
"Is that so?" the teenage girl said. She looks more friendly now, thank goodness.
She must think he is the son of one of the maids working for them. It seems they are so welcoming to an extent, lowly individuals could bring their child over with no trouble arising.
"Do you like books?" she asked.
"I... guess," says Ambrose in reply.
No! Ambrose doesn't like books, he is only here for a reason, and that is to find any magic books that cover the use of class B or A techniques, hoping to find instructions on how to use sealing techniques.
"May I?" Ambrose asked.
"Sure," she replied.
After receiving permission, Ambrose began surfing the library without a word...
"He's not the chatting type," the teenage girl mumbles while gently holding on to her younger sister.
The teenage girl goes by the name; Charlotte and the younger one is called Ella.
"Do you know him?" Ella asked.
"Not," says Charlotte in reply.

Back to Mr. Ackley and Chief Barden...
"We may have a problem," says Barden.
"I don't like the sound of that," Ackley said. He already has a slightly worried expression written on his face.
"What are we talking about now?" he asked.
"A group of mages were found dead in a deserted part of our city," Chief Barden said.
"How did that happen?"
"We do not know, however, this group is from an organization known as 'Snake',"
"Snake!" Ackley was bewildered by this.
"I suppose you understand where I'm going with this," says Chief Barden.
"What were they doing here in the first place?" Ackley asked.
"I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it's nothing good, just like always," Chief Barden replied, "However, whoever might have slaughtered them does not know what he he's brought on himself or the city in general."
"Maybe it wasn't a who, but a what," Ackley said.
"That is highly unlikely by still plausible, I guess. We found cut wounds on most of them, but they are a few who had injuries that may not have been done by a Mage,"
"Perhaps, this group were attacked by a Mage and a beast,"
"Yes, that should be it,"
Ackley had a thoughtful look on his face...
"What exactly do you want to do about this?" Ackley asked.
"I was hoping you could help us find out who the culprit is, or perhaps when the Snake organization loses their cool, you could perhaps, reason with them on our behalf,"
"That is not possible. That organization doesn't know that word. The best I can do is make them overlook us and go after whoever may have put their comrades in this condition."
"Though, if I'm to be honest, they kind of deserved it. There is a high possibility they got killed while trying to assassinate their target. They got a taste of their own medicine," Ackley continued; "And if that is the case, then we may have nothing to be worried about. This is due to their pride,"
Those words calm the Chief greatly...
"But they mostly won't let this go, will they?"
"Yes, indeed... While they may not give us trouble, I can't say the same for whoever might have killed their comrades,"
"That should be of no concern to us," Barden said, "I know that sounds kind of cold but_"
"No, you are right, we'll keep a low profile,"

*Huff! Huff! Huff!!*
In a quiet area among the trees, there is a vulnerable individual who seems to be in a terrible shape.
"What's with that kid?" he said while still in pain.
This person is disguised which helps to keep his identity a secret. He is among the unfortunate assassin who fell victim to Ambrose's fatal beating.
Unlike his comrades, he somehow stayed alive even after having his inner organs damaged. He's been in hiding for three days now while waiting for his body to slowly heal itself, and this is a long process.
Contacting his teams is not possible at the moment, since he doesn't have a transmitter to help with that.
Recalling back to how he got in this pitiful condition fills him with terror. How was Ambrose able to adjust his body position at the last minute when he was about to cut him down?
Even if he did not successfully cut deep enough, the little kid's healing speed is still on the top. He also single-handedly took out all seven of his comrades by himself.
"I have to make it back alive," he said in between his pain.
He forcefully stands on his feet and slowly walks deeper into the forested area. He can't afford to be found out by anyone apart from his teammates.

Deep in the library, Ambrose had been endlessly searching for a useful book… He found none.
Most of what he found just has something to do with past stories of legendary mages and archmages who have been a significant influence on the world while they were still alive. Other books are just stories, yes, like my novel, the one you're currently reading right now.
"You seem to have trouble deciding what to read." Charlotte is standing right behind him.
"Yeah, I guess so," says Ambrose in reply.
"How about a suggestion?" she said in a friendly way.
'No, thank you,' Ambrose thought.
"Here," Charlotte said while handing a book to Ambrose.
'You're kidding me. What makes her think this is what I enjoy reading?'
Ambrose had to act like he didn't hate it...
"Thanks," he said.
"You're welcome... Do you perhaps want to join us over there, it is more comfortable when reading," Charlotte said.
She is very nice, which should be rare for a noble like her. Ambrose may need to reevaluate his views concerning rich folks.
"Do you have any Magic Book," he asked as politely as possible.
"A Grimoire?"
"Yeah, that,"
"Yeah, we have a few of those, but what do you need it for?" she asked.
Ambrose made a hand gesture and a red sphere of magical light appeared afloat on one of his fingers as it radiates so brilliantly.
"Wow, you can use magic," Charlotte is surprised at this realization.
What Ambrose just displayed is called Mana_Zone. This is a simple technique every Mage should be able to perform.
Ambrose had learned of this from the Magic book that was handed to him by Dexter but he did not bother with it and quickly lost interest.
However, Ackley had taught him the importance of it and what he could do with it, which was enough to catch his interest once again.
Mana_Zone comes in different colors, all of which depend on the person and the nature of their mana core.
For Ackley, his Zone is cyan, while Ambrose has a red mana_zone. There is a reason it is called mana_zone, and that is a subject for another time.
"Yes, I can," Ambrose said in reply to Charlotte.
His display just got her more interested in him, but not weirdly, if you're wondering.
"Come over," she said, and Ambrose followed almost immediately.
It seems she's about to give him what he had always wanted...
"Magic books are kept carefully in a different library," says Charlotte as she leads the way to whatever destination they are headed.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, it's precious, especially to my dad,"
Ambrose scans her and unsurprisingly, he sensed spiritual energy emitted by her.
"I'm guessing you are also knowledgeable in the use of magic," Ambrose asked.
"Yes, I am," she replied. "My siblings aren't very interested in Magic like I am, so it feels lonely sometimes. It is nice, getting to meet someone just like me,"
