"Boss, I want to give a chance to him" Dan voiced his opinion. In James' absence, Dan was the acting soldier.

"Fine" Amara didn't oppose at it was Dan's decision and she was fine with it.

Dan stepped towards the young man and asked in a hoarse voice, he wanted to sound scary "What's your name?"

"Joshua Taylor" the young man confidently replied unaffected by Dan's intimidating personality.

"I do part time jobs wherever there is an opening"

"You are a grown man and still doing part time, isn't that weird?"

"I am just 20, I do part time work just to survive in this world, my main interest is being a part of a mafia group" Joshua confidently smiled.

He gave a very cold vibe and although he was smiling, it looked scary and Dan felt chills pass through him.

"I just told you, it interests me"

"What interests you Dan?" Joshua rather questioned him.

Jim got annoyed and wanted to punch Josh in the face, no one ever dared to question Dan, although he treated his team as close allies, the always respected him and saw Dan as their mentor, he was second to James so it really pissed Jim the way Josh questioned Dan but Carl put his hand on Jim's shoulder and signaled him not to meddle and let Dan handle it himself.

Dan thought what interests him, lot of things came to his mind and then he thought why they interest him but he too couldn't find a concrete reason, this made him understand Joshua's point and he smiled at him.

"Wow you are a quick learner" Joshua commented on him.

Jim again got annoyed with Joshua's tone, it was full of pride and arrogance.

"Yeah that's why I am in mafia, are you a quick learner too?" Dan questioned him back.

Amara who was standing on the side was observing the interaction between the two men and she weirdly felt attracted to Joshua, she shook her head brushing off such thoughts, she motivated herself still staring at Joshua, 'I am here to lead the Russo gang, I should not be distracted by useless things, Amara you are still a Brown and you have not yet proved yourself to be worthy of the name Russo, so please focus on important things'

Just then Joshua looked at her and smirked, Amara was startled, she felt like Joshua saw through her and this made her feel uncomfortable.

She always looked so cold and indifferent that no one had any idea what was going on in her mind thanks to the vigorous training she had to go through, she could clearly hide her thoughts, at least that's what she thought but the way Joshua smirked at her, it was obvious he knew her thoughts, she slowly turned her head away as if Joshua is someone insignificant.

"Come with us, tomorrow I'll try you and then I will make the final decision, is that fine?" Dan's words brought Joshua's attention back to him.

"Absolutely" Joshua quickly agreed.

Joshua who already started walking towards their car stopped in his track and turned back, "What is weird?"

"You didn't even ask where we are going?" Dan felt doubtful of Joshua's personality.

"Yeah because I don't care, I just want to join you guys and be a part of your group" Joshua honestly replied.

"You don't have a family who would be worried of you?"

Dan felt relieved as they prefer people with less baggage in life, their field is dangerous and having a family can be used against them, they can be blackmailed and it would only worse the matters.
