Four: Mission Done
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
"WHAT THE HELL, PAXLEY?" I yelled and spread my arms to catch him.
"You better thank me after this, idiot!"
I screamed when he pulled me over. He wrapped his left hand around my waist and gripped me tight. I clung unto his neck with my impervious grip. The helicopter flew away from the building as Gusion and I hang in the air after falling for a couple of seconds. I thought we were going to fall, we just bounced in the air and there I realized Gusion wouldn't mind jumping over me if he, himself is not prepared.
He was tied with a rope in his waist, it might hurt a lot since he's carrying me. I felt his grip tightened, and his breathing became uneven. I didn't mind how close we were, I just clung unto his neck and buried his face on my chest.
"You'll pay for this, Agent Baroque." He warned. His breathing became rapid, if I am uneasy with my breathes, he's 10x suffering right now due to our position.
I glanced at Moscov, he's giving us, probably me death glares. I immediately looked away and gazed at Lesley who's also having a hard time gripping her rope while trying to climb up. She continued to clamber until she reached the helicopter.
"Lesley!" I yelled to catch her attention.
"Got an additional rope here, catch!" She yelled and throw another rope at our position. I immediately catched the rope using my left hand and tied my hands.
We've been training half our lives for this life and death missions. Since we pledge our loyalty and service to the Dawn Organization, for the people and for the world, we already buried one of our foot in the ground.
"Hold on," I whispered to Gusion and tied my waist.
"Tie it well, I will not catch you nor follow you further anymore if you fall," Gusion bellowed.
I rolled my eyes and tightened the rope around me. I clamber up as Gusion slowly let me go.
"Don't look at me you pervert!" I glared daggers at Gusion.
He looked away and groaned in anger, "Don't you dare accuse random things. Be grateful I saved your life,"
I sighed and shut myself as I felt guilty for a second, "Just don't look up," I said in a low tone.
For heaven's sake, I'm wearing fleur de blue, I'm wearing dress, if it's not for disguise so that we could enter the building, I'll never wear such dress in missions.
I gathered all my strength and pulled myself up. Lesley helped me by pulling my rope over. My heart raced when I reached the helicopter, but instead of laying down to rest, I immediately glanced at Gusion. I heave a deep sigh when I saw him clambering up fast.
Lesley and I offered our hands, he chose Lesley's hands and ignored me.
Damn, I can feel his madness and annoyance over me. What the hell, did I just got rejected? Right, the Paxley rejected my offer to help.
"Damnit," he cursed as Lesley pulled him up.
I moved away, but I froze when he suddenly reached for my feet but accidentally grabbed my legs instead as he fully get in the helicopter.
I became hysterical and gripped his hands away from my legs which turned out bad. I pulled him hard and he fell off my chest. I squealed as my back hit the floor, my heart raced when I realized he's panting on top of me.
I glanced at Lesley with wide eyes, I somehow felt good when she seemed not to care. Looks like she doesn't mind at all since we are all tired with the bloody mission.
I pushed Gusion, "Move away,"
Gusion immediately roused and lay right beside me. He panted and chased his breathing, so as Lesley and I. Lesley closed her eyes and stretched her arms, while Gusion and I stared at the ceiling of the helicopter.
We are panting, and bloody messy.
"Congratulations, ladies..."
"Oh shit!"
"Oh, damn fucking goose!"
Lesley and I cursed at the same time when someone spoke abaft our earpiece. My heart thumped loud, I was really shocked. Our earpiece was quiet along our fights, and now someone have the guts to speak because we're done with our mission? Bloody annoying.
"Damn you, officer Vale." I scoffed.
The officer just laughed.
"Way to go ladies, see you in our headquarters."
"By the way, I already congratulated Agent Gusion, but yeah, since you were a big help to the ladies, congratulations again..."
"Shut up," Gusion retorted and closed his eyes.
I glanced at Lesley who's now staring at me as well. "Congratulations, buddy."
She smiled and closed her eyes again, "Congratulations, buddy." She responded.
"Congratulations Baroque and Vance. You really amazed us with your undeniably perfect combos and skills. Everyone was successful, and since we liked all your performances together with the mission aboard agents, we will be having a party here so you better make yourself quick and join us when you arrive."
"Oh, damn. Can we at least have some rest, Officer Vale?" I weakly whispered.
"You can, of course you can, Agent Guinevere. Want my embrace?"
"Tss," Gusion reacted.
I rolled my eyes. I'm sure heading back to our headquarters will be wearier than paving such missions. Those officers won't stop their shipping grudges, and I am pretty sure I'll get a bunch of roasts together with that handsome tan officer Vale once we get back.
"Whatever."
Lesley smirked, "Look, Guinevere is blushing."
"Oh shut up, why don't you date Officer Valir!" I hissed.
Both of us became quiet while the officers behind our earpieces laughed their asses off.
"We should have a rest," Lesley sighed and heave a deep sigh before resting on her knees.
I glanced at Gusion who's quiet beside me "Rest,"
"You too," Lesley responded, "By the way, thank you Agent Paxley. I don't know what might happen to Guinevere if you didn't come to help,"
I whined, "Duh?"
"Can you just be grateful, Baroque?" Lesley whispered. I can feel her tiredness, because we all are exhausted.
I stared at Gusion again, it's my pride that's keeping me from thanking him.
I sighed, "Thank you, Paxley."
I felt Lesley smiled, "That's right, grow up you two."
I heard Gusion smirked, "We still have some unfinished business, Baroque. Calling me a dickhead? You are terribly short and that's a fact!"
I stiffened, I almost forgot, this damn Paxley has the same pride as mine.
I clenched my fist as my anger fired up again, "You are such a fucking cuckoo, Gusion! I'm being kind here!"
Gusion opened his eyes and stared back at me, "Since when you showed your kindness? You were never kind, Baroque."
"Paxley," I warned.
Lesley interrupted, "Can you two just shut up and rest for a moment? Just this moment okay?"
"You too." Gusion responded.
Lesley rolled her eyes and softly kicked Gusion, "You dumbass, I'm being serious here."
"I am as well,"
"Hah!" I chimed in, "I told you! He's a dickhead!"
"A dickhead?!" Gusion exclaimed.
"Yes, I will never take back what I've said!"
"Oh, how foolish of me to jump and save you! I should've just let you die in Moscov's arms! You ungrateful short girl!"
"How dare you!" I roared and furrowed, "Don't test me!"
"Oh yeah?" Gusion mocked.
"You two, stop it!" Lesley's voice raged, "Fight when I'm not around! I can't stand your voices, you're too loud!"
"They are just back to normal, Agent Vance." Officer Vale suddenly intruded.
"Nothing's new, at least we know they're fine." Agent Lunox chuckled.
"Tss," Gusion and I reacted and turned our backs from each other. I mumbled and heave a deep sigh before I closed my eyes to sleep.
"We are not yet done, Baroque."
"As if I care, Paxley."
I embraced myself as the three of us overcome the cold night. We are done with our bloody missions, now we are struggling controlling ourselves not to whimper with the deadly cold breeze. The helicopter is wide open so the wind is freely fondling our almost frozen bodies making us shiver like crazy.
