A Sacred Treasure

Days away from Diabla felt like an eternity. I floated sullen behind Melia towards the armory. Mermaids snickered and flicked me with their aura. A dark cloud settled over my mood while I followed behind my teacher.

Taking a treasure from their armory felt like cheating. I drifted down to the hatch of an ancient submarine. Its black surface reflected my face blemished my sea barnacles. It made me feel tarnished less of what I was and could be.

My purpose felt far away. With each layer to this adventure I felt stretched. Soon I'd reach my limit and the bodies would pile up. These techniques while impressive couldn't surpass my own secret. I was more powerful than all of them. Unfortunately, the thought gave me no pleasure. It wasn't the time to act, even the blue within whispered that fact. It was disconcerting.
