The funeral

Soon after she was declared dead her family held a funeral. Jasper was asked to speak and he agreed.

"Emily was and always will be my best friend. I loved her more than anything else in this world. For reasons I don't know... she left this earth and I can only pray that her death was painless... Emma was my everything... and now..." Jasper couldn't continue. Instead, he broke down crying.

Emma's parents helped him back to his seat. After her memorial they berried an empty coffin. Her parents had given up hope that her body would ever be found due to how deep the river was and the speed of the current.

For the days that followed Jasper spent his days by at the rivers edge. He would stare at the water blankly for hours or he'd cry.

After the fifth day of this he realized, something didn't add up. The spot where she had drown had a rather weak current. While it was strong enough to drown someone, it wasn't likely she would be swept very far. So, why hadn't her body been found?

That night he remembered something she had once asked him.

[A year ago]

"How amazing would it be to attend your own funeral? You would finally see the real them, not the fake face they wear. Of course, you would have to stay out of sight." She told him.

[End Of flashback]

"How amazing would it be to attend your own funeral?" He repeated the question out loud. "Indeed amazing Emma But, did you really pull it off?" He thought for a moment about where she could see but not be seen. That's when it hit him, it would have been easy to hide behind the dark vails most of the girls wore.

Now, the game Emma had set up before she jumped was afoot. While I cannot tell you whether she lived or died, I can tell you that it was nearly impossible to survive that jump... nearly. She could be alive or she could be dead but you won't have a sure answer until he solves the elaborate game she had set for him. I can also tell you that Emma was aware of the likelihood of death and was willing to risk it all to achieve her goal.
