Second Day

Ridwan could not stand the situation he had to go through with his friends then got up and tried to open his laptop. Although at first, he was hesitant, he still tried to turn on the laptop while plugging in the charger. He was very grateful when he found the wifi network at his school was still running well. He tried to open several news sites, but there was only chaos there. news is trending for human cannibals who eat fellow humans horribly. Ridwan got goosebumps. After reading all the news he finally gave up on his family situation. Madi came closer and joined in reading what was displayed on Ridwan's laptop screen.

"Oh my God!!! Is everything that bad?" Madi was shocked. The other students who heard this became curious and came closer to reading what had just made Madi so shocked. Several nearby countries have already been infected. Even before scientists and specialists can detect it properly. Everything happened very quickly. 20 hours.

Some of the students who were afraid returned to their positions and cried loudly. Their second day is now filled with loud crying voices. Some looked panicked while typing something on their smartphones. Contact anyone who can still respond to their calls and ask for help. They are busy. Unlike before, this time none of their calls were connected. Again, the female students were crying in fear. The class gets rowdy again. They all worry about their family at home. Some even shout the name of the family, father, mother, and brother like whining like a child.

"BRRUUUKKK !!!!" Ridwan hit the table hard. "CAN YOU ALL SHUT UP ??? Stop whining! How about me? My father is divorced, and no one cares. They don't even know where I go to school !!!" Ridwan said carried away with emotion and poured out everything that was in his head. "So stop whining and crying like a little baby!" No one cared so Ridwan fell silent again because he was sulking. All the students just stared at Ridwan strangely. Fahya turned to Amir.

"OK! Everyone stop and find a position to rest. At least we have to have the strength for tomorrow to survive." Amir tries to calm his friends by acting as a class leader. He tried to put his fear aside for all of his friends. Everyone obeyed Amir's words even though they were still feeling anxious, except for Ridwan who was still angry and still sat fiddling with his laptop to do something.

The morning sun began to peek over the horizon line in the sky. And the second day really started. All the students in the classroom 2-2 wake up even though none of them are actually sleeping because they are too scared. Ridwan is still in his place with the laptop screen open. Fahya sat leaning against the wall, she stares in the blank.

"Why? Is there something wrong?" Zahra asked while sitting next to Fahya, followed by Sita.

"Everything is wrong..." Fahya answered. Then back in silence. Zahra sighed, not knowing what to do with her best friend.

"Since when has she become like this?" Sita asks Zahra.

"Yesterday, at this hour, I was getting ready in my room to go to school ... My mom cooked fried rice for breakfast and I complained that it had peas in it. But, today, right now ... I don't even know if my mother is still in this world or not. I... I want to back..." Fahya did not continue her words, but both of her friends understood what Fahya meant. The three friends who are known to be very cheerful suddenly turn into a group of crybaby girls who now hug each other to strengthen one another.

Isti and Pena sprayed insect repellent around their classroom. And without orders from anyone, with their own awareness, the students take on their respective duties such as sweeping and tidying their beds so that their place becomes wider. Although there are still some students who are still asleep, they don't care about the noise around them. Classroom 2-2 conditions seemed to return to normal for a while. Amir led the task of making rainwater reservoirs with cleaning equipment in the classroom with a pipe connecting the outside of the classroom with a container inside the classroom.

"Now we can fill the drinking water bottles we have. All of them immediately take turns filling it when it rains because the reservoirs are too small." Amir telling all his friends.

"Calm down, we'll be safe as soon as possible!" Masri replied to Amir's words, trying to calm his friends. Amir just turned his head towards Masri for a moment, nodding uncertainly.

After everything was finished and all the students really got up, Oki and Juan took some food for all their friends to share from the warehouse which was right above their classroom building.

"Hey, you! Why are you taking our food?" Masri makes fun of Angel.

"Hmmm..., Masri!!!" Angel said with an attitude that even made the other students want to mock him.

"HEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMM~ MAAAASSSRIIIII~!?" Amir tried to say a funnier version of Angel's words to make fun of Angel. Angel sighed in annoyance then fell silent.

"Hahaaaaaa!!! Angel beeecame angryyyy!! Wooaaahhh!" Tiwi said blaming Amir jokingly.

"Good!!! If she doesn't want to, we can save the food again. Hahaha" Amir replied with a laugh.

"This afternoon we have to go out!" Alwa said suddenly. All stared at him in surprise. "You don't think we're going to stay in this room and just wait for someone to come, right?" Alwa continued.

"Then, what are you going to do if we get out and no one is saved?" Masri asked.

"Maybe there's a survivor too, like us!" Alwa's eyes showed doubt. "O... Or they can save us!"

"Our food is limited! If there are survivors, our food supply will decrease!" Septi denied. Everyone was silent for a moment staring at Alwa who was restless for no reason.

"But what if Alwa is right? What if the survivors we saved had more food than we thought. We don't even know what the situation is like on the outside, right?" Iki began to open his voice, this time he was on Alwa's side. Amir and Masri stared at Alwa and Iki, no one knows what the two of them are planning.

"And this will be our second and last day here, we will save!" This time Alwa said confidently after getting support from one of her friends. All the students were still silent.

To be continued...
