Night

It was getting late, the clock hands in the classroom 2-2 showed 10 pm. It was only 4 hours that the sun was replaced by the moon, but all the students felt that this darkness seemed endless. The atmosphere in class 2-2 was terrifying. The entire school was silent, it seemed like really only their classrooms still had life in them. the silence seemed to wrap around the bodies lying on the floor and the table. No one is really asleep. They just closed their eyes, no one could sleep peacefully after what happened even if they tried their best. Sometimes they heard slow footsteps from outside the classroom. The first, second, and so on sounded closer and closer. Amir was getting restless and in the end, he opened his eyes and got up from where he was (supposed to be) sleeping. Some of the other students got up too, the rest of them closed their eyes even harder in fear. Amir checked the door and gestured to his friends to keep quiet. Angel and Sita, who were still closing their eyes, were crying to themselves, thinking they would end soon.

Masri raised his head to the window to see what was outside. Something moved slowly. Not one, but three. No, it's more than that. Masri opened his eyes wide and turned to face Amir, who was still standing holding the door. Masri's gaze that seemed to tell Amir that they were in danger was clearly understood by all his friends. Yuki also climbed onto the table and looked.

"This isn't good, right?" Yuki asked Masri. But, Masri only let out a heavy sigh and turned away. Yuki's heart was beating so hard that she almost lost consciousness. She was scared.

"Are we going to die?" Sita asked her friend Fahya while sobbing.

"Where are they?" Amir asked in a whisper.

"Closer! It's too dark outside to estimate their distance." Masri replied.

"Just throw something. Maybe they will follow and look for it." Septi said.

"Can they see it?" Rianis try to observe. Masri was ready with a whiteboard eraser in his right hand.

"Just throw it!!" Yuki was panic when strange people come closer. Then, Masri finally threw away the whiteboard eraser.

"Shush !!!" Yuki gestured for his friends to remain silent. The entire classroom was shrouded in fear.

The whiteboard eraser made a sound that was quieter than Masri expected and only made the strange person turn around briefly then continued on their steps.

"Sh*t!" Masri hurried down from the table to find another thing that could be thrown further.

"Keep quiet!!" Amir lay his pointer finger in front of his so that friends don't panic. Masri opened Oka's bag and poured all its contents on the floor. He got Oka's smartphone with an empty battery. Once again he cursed softly. But quickly got up while removing the SIM card from Oka's smartphone.

"What would you do?" Yuki stopped Masri. Masri ignored Yuki and returned to his original position after pocketing the Oka SIM Card.

"BRAKKK!!" A loud voice rang out as Masri actually threw Oka's smartphone against the wall of the building opposite his classroom. The strange people turned towards the loud sound with a movement faster than the students had seen before.

"Did we got it?" Amir asked curiously.

"We got it!" Masri answered confidently then closed the window.

Amir stepped away from the door and climbed onto the table. He raised his head to take a look and confirm the situation outside. Suddenly, a powerful punch was directed at the window which caused the window to have small cracks in it. Amir's eyes opened wide and the other students screamed in fear. All the boys who were on the table descended to the floor, joining the girls.

"It's not even midnight ..." Melly grumbled. Melly, who had been sleeping, finally really woke up. "Just turn off the lights!" All eyeballs rotate towards her in confusion. "Won't the insects get close just because there's light?" Melly continued her words. But, her friends were still frozen with fear.

"At least use your brains, you idiot!" Melly said again because she was annoyed that she had to get up and turn off the lights herself. "Go back to your places and sleep! You will get hungry quickly if you stay up all night, our food is very limited." When she wanted to return, Melly saw a crack in her classroom window.

"Does anyone have a big duct tape here?" Melly spoke loudly. Tiwi immediately opened her bag and felt the inside of the bag in a hurry. She also threw it at Melly when she was sure what she was holding was duct tape. Melly walked like a blind man with her hands groping in the dark so she wouldn't get hit by a table at the edge of the classroom. Melly put tape on almost half the surface of the cracked window. Then she just realized something and turned to look at her friends.

"The unicorns??? Seriously???" Melly protested the drawing on the tape she stuck to the window.

"I use it to decorate my notebook..." Tiwi allowed it.

"Can you not talk about it now?" Jesi defended.

"Whatever!" Melly jumped from the table to the floor and looked for her bag to turn back into a pillow to sleep on.

The gathered students finally disbanded and formed small groups based on their closest friends. One by one the boy's students climbed onto the table to sleep on guard, even though they were actually afraid that the monsters would break the windows and pull them out while they were sleeping. The classroom turned silent again. All that was heard was the ASMR voices of the students who couldn't sleep and whispering to each other. Amir was silent and continued to look at the window Melly had taped on. He shuddered because she was afraid of what she had just experienced and she was almost on the menu for the next dinner. Amir immediately shifted the curtains to close the window and immediately closed his eyes because Melly's words came true. He became very hungry because he stayed up late.
