Greed

Light snoring could be heard as the nurse, a middle aged woman sighed at the angelic girl sleeping in the early morning. Pulling back the curtain to pull up the duvet over her shoulder. She took back the emptied glass of water and the foil paracetamol packet, that was to go into the trash.

Thinking that because classes were in session, she head out to the staff room to take advantage of the time to watch day time TV and enjoy the complementary tea and coffee provided by the school.

As the door clicked shut, thick black eyelashes trembled revealing a pair of hostile eyes. Looking a little evil with the white of the eyes reddening, after severely rubbing them. Opening her mouth she let out a silent yawn, annoyedly wiping away the tears that itched her sweaty skin.

Rolling on her front she shoved a heavily tangled headphone on her ear, lightly listening to some soft rock music.

(Note: She was listening to Tatsura Yamashita's Fragile, I recommend it's very good!)

The block out curtains, soft duvet and the relaxing melancholic voice helping her fall asleep. Hugging her warm hoodie to her stomach, the heat from the radiator helping to soothe her period pains.

"Enrique, what should I do?", Este said sluggishly rubbing his face guiltily. Sitting up in the bed of his hotel room, lighting a cigarette.

"Well it wouldn't help to mention that you lost two million yen to a high school girl." He snickered, watching as he threw his turned off phone onto the sofa where he sat.

"That person was wearing a hoodie and sweats." Replying in disbelief.

"You were too busy drinking with your buddies to notice that Mr. Ouyama brought in a soaking wet girl in a school uniform." Thinking about it curiously. "You didn't know because she got changed afterwards."

"Well- you're my bodyguard so you HAVE to listen to me." He commanded anxiously. "You switch off your phone too!"

'Sure but my boss is still your brother.' He thought with a sigh, a little worried about him using his brothers name as the debtor.

"I'm starving. Now let's get food." Changing the subject and reaching for the phone beside the bed, making Enrique roll his eyes in despair.

Looking at the vibrant yellow Pokémon bag with a raised eyebrow, overflowing with Pikachu plushies, pyjamas and other crap.

The Russo family, or the Russolini's were originally a Mafia family based in Venice. However, because of tensions between upcoming gangs and the frustrations of family politics, the main family moved to America in the early 80's. Building a name for themselves in the real estate, port trade and food industries.

Although, they reconnected with their Italian roots in the mid 90s- of the crime and violence of the Mafia. It was all well hidden and in the facades of the leading business conglomerate. The Russolini group.

Establishing themselves within the echelon of high society, the children attending expensive private schools. Raised delicately as upstanding individuals in society, the older generation choosing those with the qualities of continuing the family's dark legacy. The family's patriarch a pen in one hand and a gun in the other.

The family's current patriarch is the former heads youngest brother, Anthony Russolini. Father to the next successor in the technological age, Luca Russo.

A man who left home at 16, developing his own software company with a group of friends. Responsible for the creation of the most hard wearing firewalls and other internet security services. Later branching off in web development and mobile game productions.

Earning $50 million in the first year of operation, considering they were a company of four people.

After eventually being announced as successor, being considered the most reliable out of the male relatives. He revamped and organised The Russolini Group, merging his start-up company and putting their uses into the other industries proclaimed by the family. Both in their business and private lives.

However, the only problem was that Luca Russo was a social recluse who couldn't stand stupidity. He had a completely terrible personality and focused all his attention on building his family's empire and keeping the family politics clean. Whether that depended on a simple conversation or fighting it out, that depended on other people.

As the patriarch he could do as he wanted, most people listening because of the fear of his cruel ways of dealing with things. Because of that he wasn't well received by his family, unlike their likeable and bubbly personalities. He preferred silence.

His brother Este who was as bright as the sun, occasionally joked about him not being able to find anyone. But although being in past relationships, he was always the one who was asked out and broken up with because 'he didn't care enough.'

Which was true because he had other priorities, but none of the women he were involved with never peaked his curiosity. It was mutual selfishness in their thinking that she could make him fall for her, as it was his initial curiosity to think about the possibility.

He was handsome, that's not the issue but it was the fact he had never been... aroused by the women he had been with.

But now he just gave up.

Quietly suffering as he walked around the school grounds, slowly losing his patience as he sweated under the sun. He lamented over the monotonous process of listening to two people try to speak to him, paired with his jet lag that was simply mentally taxing.

However, despite his impatience he appreciated their constant politeness and professional behaviour, which other people he had worked with in the past never seemed to show. Additionally, despite the school being in a pretty nice part of the district, it was surprising how the school was still functioning. Considering how damaged the internal structure was, the walls crumbling and weeds overgrown in some places.

It was no wonder his older sister wanted to establish a connection to the school, the place was pretty great to look at as a foreigner going to visit. There were a lot of things to do here, especially for American students wanting to visit. So he was happy to invest, it was just that they wanted him to come in and have a look at the way they do things there.

It was a coincidence that he was going to Japan to visit someone with his father- an acquaintance, Carina just had to hear about it and inform them that he would go.

What a pain.

Receiving an important call from Mathew, after a string of unanswered texts he was unable to reply to. Cursing as he was thinking that it must be important for him to call him, he apologised to the English teacher that was showing him the way out. Implying if there was anywhere quiet he could go to, to answer his call.

"Because of classes no one will be in the infirmary, I'll be just down the hall in the coffee room if you need help later on." He said kindly before nodding his head in goodbye.

Giving him a grunt in thanks, he quickly pushed back the door allowing it to slam shut with a heavy thud. Locking the door before pulling out a plastic chair, he sat down as floor length opaque curtains drifted behind him.

"What's happened?" Asking coldly, a hand clenching his knee.

"Both Este and Enriques phones are switched off." Explaining straightforwardly. "I considered contacting back up, but I didn't want to do anything without you knowing about it and then your father worrying about it."

"I wasn't sure what I could do more than that...so I tried contacting Jason to see if he could somehow help?" Stuttering a little nervously.

"If you can't seem to find him, how do you expect someone who's not even in the same country to able to find him?" He retorted a little threatening, throwing the plastic chair aside in anger. A loud slamming sound vibrating against the cold concrete.

Eerie silence followed as he thought about how he was going to severely punish his brother, for his complete stupidity. Not expecting he wasn't the only one in the room.

"You... teme (asshole) bastard, Why are you making so much noise? Shitsukēndayo kudasai." (please leave me the fuck alone) A woman's raspy voice rang out, emanating an air of half threat and whining.

"Whats so difficult? That's easy... just hack into that persons email address. Certain apps need to use the location like the Maps app..." She said sluggishly, as if struggling to stay awake. Making whoever heard her immediately feel sorry for her.

However, Luca who stood quietly narrowed his green eyes coldly staring at the block out curtains, his hand brushing against the gun in his blazer pocket. The speaker phone function blaring, allowing Mathew to listen in.

"Recording the last location there were seen at, go away now." Her voice fading off, like she'd fallen asleep.
