I walked back to my room to see her lifeless body with the mask that was helping her breath over her nose. What I saw in her journal and Levi’s words hit me so hard. I wanted to get close to her but I was scared she would wake up and see me. 
I didn’t deserve to be close to her after all I’ve done yet I couldn’t stay away from her. 
I went to the bed and feel on my knees, the tears in my eyes had made my vision blur so I blinked to let them flow freely. 
“I’m sorry Elisa,” I mumbled, my eyes on her burnt hand….the same hand I burnt. Looking at it brought all the memories back and I fucking hated myself. I hated myself for everything I had put her through and I just wanted to put a gun to my head and pull the trigger.

I was seated with the kids in the living room as we had our usual Saturday sitcom marathon when Nikolai descended the stairs in a suit.

"Daddy today is a Saturday, No work" Tessa whined as Nikolai chuckled.

"Daddy has to take care of something important regarding some bad men, I would have taken Elisa along but you are busy with her right now. I will be back soon don't worry" Nikolai said as he pecked her forehead and did same to Leandro who didn't pay much attention to his father.

"If I let you go will you give me one of Mommy's pepperonis on her neck" My eyes widened after hearing that.

I decided to avoid that yesterday thinking she would forget all about it today but turns out I was wrong. The memory of Tessa's curiosity about the intriguing "pepperonis" on my neck still made me blush, and I couldn't help but chuckle as I realized that there was no escaping her relentless curiosity.
