Chapter twenty-one part one
Build up to my depression
my build-up to depression came on gradually.
I got severely depressed at the age of 15 or 16 and It really changed my life. At school, I was always bullied and I'd come home crying every day. At my first secondary school the teachers would pick up that I wasn't happy and that something was wrong, so they would pull me to a side after and talk to me. I'd go from being very chatty to being completely silent. They had these small rooms that they'd take me and a friend that I'd fallen out with or that caused me to get upset and shut us in until things had been fixed between us; I hated it.
That's when I eventually moved schools in the hope that the bullying would stop but I found that the bullying just followed me wherever I went. The teachers even hated me, telling me that I didn't have a sense of humour or that I was unorganized, or that the clothes I wore weren't smart enough; making my mum take me out shopping to get smarter clothes...
That's when I developed depression, at my first college.
As I said, in the end they kicked me out because of my self harm and depression, saying that they couldn't deal with it, then saying "oh but you can come back next year...when your better.... (Like I could just get over depression that quickly 😣)
