The Hobo's Mission

Two men were patrolling the front of a warehouse. Both men were up since 5 A.M way earlier than their usual shift on patrol and were guarding till now, but the boss himself said so, so they had to reluctantly do their shift. One then let out a yawn while leaning on a wall.

"Long night huh?" The other guard said to the one who yawned.

The guard glanced at him. " Nah, Just doing this damn patrol earlier than a rooster. You know, if only the boss didn't have to be so bloody paranoid, I might actually get some bloody sleep."

" Oh stop barking around, you've always been a lazy bastard." The other guard said while crossing his arms. "Bah" was all the other guard said while leaning and digging through his pocket and pulled out a cigarette. And the other guard just shakes his head in disappointment.

While the guards were chatting, Hank was able to sneak through the gaze of both guards. He snuck by hiding through buildings and quickly darting through alleyways. Before Hank turned towards another alley, he stopped himself. On the ceiling of a building and being hidden by withered pot plants was a camera. It scanned the alleyway almost capturing Hank, despite his age and the lack of action Hank gaze quickly found another camera almost completely invisible which was placed near a window of an abandoned building with the roof's shadow covering it.

Placing his bag down, Hank shuffled through his bag and pulled out a small device. It was a motherboard with a battery and wires with its covering being a clear tape. " You better bloody work," Hank whispered to himself and he outstretched his hand and pressed a button. The cameras which were blinking red and being connected then shut down.

Upon seeing this a smirk crept upon his face, Hank then starts to walk through and towards the back door of the factory. After walking towards the door Hank sees that the door is made of thick solid steel and a number keypad on the side with a card scanner. Hank then dug through his back again, after a few moments he cursed to himself. " Why didn't I bring them?" Hank then had an idea.

He then moved and hid on the side where he would be hidden if the door would be opened. After waiting for a few minutes, the door opened and a man walked out and start to observe the cameras. The moment the man exited the door, Hank grabbed the man and grabbed a compact line of wire choking him. The man lets out a choking sound and struggled by grabbing the wire and attempted to grab Hank. He kicked the at the back of his legs knocking him down, and with a final tug, a crack was heard.

The man who was struggling is now limp upon hands grasp. Hank then backed away while the man dropped upon the pavement. Hank was panting for a moment from the struggle, he picked the body up and searched it, and in a pocket, he pulled out an ID card.

"Hehe, got it." After obtaining the card Hank dropped the guy and moved him behind a bunch of trash bags. The ID card had the appearance of a credit card with the man's picture on it and his information. It had a black line on it and within the life was a number sequence.

Hank approached the wall panel, he slides the card on the slot, and the screen now lit up with it.

'ENTER PIN' displayed the screen, Hank looked at the card and input the numbers: 1 4 0 8. The panel emitted a small 'ting' sound. Hank then grabbed the doorknob and the door was now open. Before entering, Hank turned on the small device again, after a few moments Hank entered the door. Hank found himself in a hallway, he looked both ways scanning the area. He then saw a couple of cameras in each end which are now both deactivated. Hank starts to walk through the area discovering the inside to be more clean and tidy than the whole building's outside appearance. The floor which was furnished was now ruined by dusty footprints from Hank's boots.

"These lunatics have air conditioning, bastards," Hank said cursing to himself. Voices were heard from a corner. Hank then quickly entered a room just in time as a bunch of men walked by while chatting to each other. Hank found himself in a janitor's closet hiding from the men. He then dug through the bag and pulled out the phone that the man from the cafe gave to him. It was the floor plan of the whole warehouse. The warehouse is a three leveled building with a basement.

After tracing his finger through some paths he stopped upon a room at the center of the second floor labeled 'target', and with a note, at the bottom 'finish the job quickly, do not screw it up.'

Hank then placed the map back into the bag and exited the closet. He then starts to navigate through the warehouse yet again. Each time that Hank turned to a corner he firsts presses his device to disable any possible cameras. Hank usually takes paths that were labeled to have a low chance for people to walk by. But in a hallway Hank saw a shadow cast on the wall, it was of a single person. Instead of hiding and waiting for him or her to pass by, he hid and readied his knife. The shadow belonged to a woman who was wearing a large green and blue jumper with the word 'Maintenance' on the back and she wore a cap and mask. She seemed tired with smudges on her face and clothes.

The time the woman walked by, Hank grabbed the girl with his hand that covered the mouth and his other wrapped around her neck choking her. The woman struggled but was quickly extinguished by Hank driving the knife on the side of her neck. He twisted the knife eliminating the woman. Hank then carried the woman and starts to search for a place to hide her, he then finds a room labeled 'Staff Changing Room'.

"Huh, I'm oddly pretty lucky today," Hank said while entering the room. Upon entering, the room seemed to be a locker room connected to a shower room. Hank heard the shower running and quickly placed the woman behind some lockers and placed himself towards the wall.

"Hey anyone there? Cindy, is that you?" A male voice said from the showers. After a few seconds, the shower turned off. "Your shift's over huh? I thought you get lun-" The man was cut off with a punch from Hank. The man stumbled back and held onto his towel while balancing himself.

"What the-" Hank then bashed his head to the wall and pushed him back to the showers. Hank pinned down the man, the man still confused attempted to throw a blind punch which Hank dodged grabbing the arm and brought it down onto an elevated edge of the shower breaking it. Before the man could scream, Hank grabbed his mouth and stabbed him in his chest. The man now finally regained his senses finally had a view of his attacker. Fear filled his eyes and face as if he was staring at a monster. His fearful stare was met by Hank's red eyes, and Hank twisted his knife ending the man.

He then placed the man onto a shower cubicle and turned on the shower to wash the blood and to add the assumption of someone bathing. Hank then dragged the woman to another cubicle and did the same.

Hank then glances upon the uniforms and starts to put them on. He removed his gas mask and replaced it with a face mask. He placed all his equipment onto a large box and placed the bag inside it as well. Hank now looked like a staff member and exited the room.

At the time that Hank exited the room, a couple of large men walked by him. One glanced at him but all in all, paid to mind to him. Hank arrived at the entrance of the basement, it was stairs that led down to the basement. At the time he arrived at the bottom, he observed that nobody was on the floor. The floor had the main electrical system which was seen on the other side of the floor. The floor was a storage unit with lockers, boxes, cabinets, and systems. Hank opened the box and took out a small bomb that was the size of both of his hands. He opened the glass container and placed the bomb inside. Hank did the same on the generators as well with a bomb in each one of them. Seeing his job was done, Hank exited the basement.

" Now, time to find you, "Hank said to himself and starts to find the target's office. He met a lot of people inside the building but none truly recognized him. But suddenly, Hank was stopped as he confronts someone at an intersection of the hallway. A young girl stood in front of him, she was in her early twenties most likely just got out from being a teenager. She was wearing a baggy shirt and short shorts.

"Oh sorry." The girl said in which Hank said in his raspy voice. : "Don't mention it.". The girl then walked to the side of Hank and passing him. "Well, goodbye sir." Hank on the other hand just waved and continued forwards.

'Dear God...they got kids.' Hank repeated on his head with doubt now filling his heart.

"We raised you and took you as our family, that's why you must do your job." The man's words from the cafe echoed in his head. He then suppressed his doubt and focused on finding the office. And finally, Hank found the office. The door was a large wooden door. But despite its appearance, it came from sturdy wood and was supported with a metal layer behind the door. The door was luckily unlocked in which Hank entered and closed the door.

'He's probability still teaching, he'll be back right about now.' The door opened and a man entered the office. He was in a black suit with him being around his mid-30's and slightly obese but had large arms and had a decent height. The man sat down on his desk and turned on his computer and starts to write. But he quickly noticed Hank beside the door.

"Oh hey, are you here to fix the cabinet?" The man said but Hank didn't reply and locked the door. The man seeing what the maintenance crew member did, starts to be very suspicious to him. He discreetly moved his hand under his seat, but suddenly a knife was thrown at his shoulder.

"AAAARGH" The Man shouted in pain clutching his shoulder with his other hand. "Don't even try to call anyone, you'll just end up making things worse," Hank said clutching another knife.

The man upon hearing the voice looks at the maintenance man with recognition in his eyes. "You..." was what he said. Hank took off the face mask and stares at the man's eyes. "Hey, Manuel." A smirk creeps on Hank's face as he approaches the man.

"Hank why the hell are you doing this?!" The man cried out to Hank who in turn stares in silence. " We settled all of these back then, we ain't got any bad blood now for two years, just why Hank WHY!?"

Hank then placed his hands on the table and slightly bent down. "Unlike you all, you've blinded yourselves on the idea that breaking off from your real family is better than doing your part."

"That's it? THAT'S IT!?" Manuel starts to stand but Hank grabs the knife deep in his shoulder and pushes it down earning another painful cry from Manuel placing him back onto his chair.

Manuel then glared at Hank with betrayal in his eyes. "That's it Hank? you choose to follow each and every order they give you like the dog you are."

Hank twirls the knife he had in his hand. " A dog huh? That just bullsh-" Hank stopped himself looking away to compose himself. He then stared back again onto Manuel. "I'm not the one who got up and thought ' oh let's get the hell outta here' , YOU left the syndicate, YOU opposed the others, and YOU abandoned us. You left your family!"

"A family of murderers? You are willing to kill for what, pride and honor? Killing for honor still won't justify killing someone!" Manuel said. Hank who was now pacing the room, suddenly threw his other knife at Manuel's other shoulder.

"AAAGH, you bastard!" Hank then grabbed Manuel's collar pulling him close. "As I said, don't even try to call anyone." He then lets go of Manuel placing him back onto his chair. Hank opened the box on the floor, pulling out his silver revolver.

He opened the barrel checking his ammo then snapping it back in. "Remember what I said back then?" Pulling the hammer back and aimed it at Manuel who was now grunting with fear in his eyes as he stares down at the barrel. "I said that I'll personally shoot dirty backstabbing pigs like you."

Before pulling the trigger, Manuel said "wait" with a shaky voice. " Sometimes, being a pig is better than being a tool. I found my own happiness Hank, I hope you find yours too." And with that Manuel closed his eyes.

A loud bang echoed inside the room. Manuel now laid motionless on his chair, with a hole on top of his right eye. Hank stared at Manuel's corpse, his mind focused on Manuel's last words. Hank shook his head removing the thoughts. He grabbed the gas mask from the box and placed all the equipment back in the gym bag. He grabbed the phone inside the box and opened the contact list. He then called a number named 'B'.

"You did it?" A voice said from the other end.

"Yeah Yeah It's done," Hank said while running his hand through his hair.

"We'll be there." The voice simply said and hung up.

Hank then gave a long sigh. He placed the phone inside his coat. He then dug through his bag and pulled out a box of loaded-up cylinders full of bullets and extra ones just in it. He pulled out the bullet and reloaded the empty slot. He took another deep breath and waited for his signal.
