'Did I say something wrong?'
I shook my head. 'Not at all; I just wasn't expecting to fill out a questionnaire.'
'I thought questionnaires, interviews and petitions were how you humans decided everything?'
I couldn't stifle a laugh. 'You're not entirely wrong, but...'
'I assure you, this questionnaire won't take long. Jake Goodwin, do you prefer ancient runic magic like us Ingara? Or would you rather cast spells as other modern-day types do? With the magic emanating from your hands.'
That's a tough question. I love runes, but sometimes in battle, there's no time to prepare a complicated spell.
'Got it, thanks.'
'You're taking my thoughts as answers?!'
'This is how I work. If you were to learn of a creature's true identity, would you judge it for disguising itself? Or would you greet it as you would any other person?'
Is this a trick question?
