A Bad Dream

Dianas dream was like last night's, a blur of memories not one seeming to fit with the other.

One minute she'd be ten riding Luna through the palace grounds a smile on her face and her hair blowing in the wind behind her. In the next moment she was in her parents office the day she left, fighting with them to let her become a knight.

Then Diana was thrown into another memory this time of her walking down the streets with her mother in a village near the castle been given flowers and well wishes and the next she was in the forest where she met Alex. Then Diana was thrown into the room she saw in last night's dream with the same people on the bed in the centre of the room with the baby girl in the ladies arms.

'Who are they?' Diana thought 'I don't remember them but they feel so...familiar, why?'

"My precious baby girl," she heard the man say as he looked lovingly at the baby in his Diana presumes wife's arms.

"We won't ever let you go," the women smiled with her promise as she kissed the babies forehead.

"Who are you?" Diana asked but they didn't answer her they didn't even seem to hear her.

"Our precious baby princess," the man said adoringly and not even sparing Diana a single glance.

"Who are you?" Diana asked again "Please answer me!"

'Why can't they hear me?' Diana thought.

She walked closer to the two people and as she walked closer she saw more similarities between her and the two people on the bed not to mention the child in the women's arms looked almost like Diana when she was a baby, but how?

"Who are you?" Diana tried again but still they didn't hear her. This is beginning to become agitating 'why can't they hear me? I know it's only a dream but still' Diana thought to herself.

"Answer me please! Who are you?!?!" Diana asked again as she reached out and touched the man's shoulder but he still didn't respond.

"Who are you? Why do I have memories of you?" Diana tried again agitation gripping her tighter by the second.

"Our precious..." but before he could finish the memories started to close in on her noises and memories overlapping it felt like thousands of daggers stabbing at her head over and over again.

"Ahhhhh! What..the hell...is this pain?!?!" The pain continued to grow as Diana continued to fight back against it.

"Diana," she heard someone calling for her "Diana," they continued calling but the pain continued to grow.

"Ahhhhhhhh!!!" the pain was continuing to grow with every passing second 'What is this?' Diana thought 'What's going on?'

"Diana, Diana it's okay wake up." Someone continued to call her "Diana," they kept trying to wake her up. Diana felt a hand on her shoulder "Diana, every things alright wake up."

Slowly Diana began to regain consciousness, only to find Alex staring at her worriedly.

"Are you okay?" he asked her worriedly.

"I'm fine," Diana replied as she sat up.

"Are you sure you started talking in your sleep and then your face contorted in pain so I became worried about you and decided to try and wake you."

"I'm alright Alex I promise," Diana said reassuringly as worry was still etched on his face "I didn't wake you did I?"

"No I woke up a little while ago," he reassured her "the others still aren't up."

"That's good, what time is it?"

"Just gone six we'll leave around eight so they can still rest for a while you can get some more sleep as well if you need it."

"No I'm alright, why were you up so early anyway?" Diana asked brushing the remains of sleep out of her eyes.

"I couldn't sleep and I wanted to enjoy some peace and quiet before we start heading back to Fortis." He explained with a sigh as he sat down beside Diana.

"That's fair enough," she said before leaning back on her hands and watching as the sun rose. After some time of sitting there in blissful silence she stood up and readjusted her cloaks hood. "I think I'll go hunting for this mornings breakfast if that's alright with you."

"That's fine by me, do you want any help?" Alex asked Diana.

"I'll be alright," she smiled at him "I'll scout the area while I'm at it," Diana informed him before heading deeper into the forest.

"Don't go too far Diana none of us know this forest as well as you it'd be hard to find you if you get lost," Alex called out to her before she left.

It's peaceful out here in the forest and it helps Diana clear her head. 'I can't get too close to them they'd get hurt in the end and they'll hate me when they learn who I truly am they'll just think I've been using them. My parents would probably not hesitate to hurt one of them to get to me either I've seen them do it before I may have only been six years old but I remember it.' Diana thought to herself as she hunted for some breakfast.

Diana was running with her best friend they were running away from the castle she couldn't take it all the rules and the expectations she didn't want that burden so they were running far away from all of it. They didn't get to far before her parents found them they slaughtered Diana's best friend right in front of her eyes just because she helped Diana get away and ever since then she could feel that the love they showed her wasn't real love, no it was something else. Since that day for six long years she became like a perfect puppet obeying their every decree except for when she turned ten since then she fought back and didn't back down that's when the malice in their eyes became even clearer.

Diana won't let that stop her though she will avenge her friend, she will find out what it is her parents are hiding and she will accomplish her dreams, she just has to do it alone. Diana won't let anyone else get hurt.

"Morning," Crystal said with a yawn as she sat down with the other four near the campfire they'd made. "Where's Diana?" she asked after a minute.

"She went out hunting a while ago," Alex answered.

"Yeah she left while us four were still sleeping Alex was the only one a wake," Maddy explained "she should be back soon."

"Speak of the devil," Kylo joked as Diana appeared from the forest holding a dead rabbits.

"Sorry I took so long," she apologised before settling down and pulling out a dagger setting to work on the rabbit.

"No need to apologise if any of us were trusted to hunt for breakfast we'd probably have just left," Kylo joked which made the others laugh.

"Do you have anything to report as you were scouting the surrounding area at the same time?" Alex asked Diana curiously.

"I didn't see anyone or anything no one really comes to this forest anyway." Diana explained as she started skinning the rabbit.

"Oh, and why's that?" Hunter asked curiously.

"Well it's rather far from any town or village and it's also close to Fortis which as you know is at war with Noblis and no one really wants to get caught in the cross fire also this forest is home to many wild animals which won't think twice before they rip you apart." Diana explained to them all as she finished skinning the rabbit and began cooking it over the fire.

"Your not serious right?" Crystal asked shock plasterd over her face.

"Why would I be joking?" Diana asked nonchalantly.
