Scum (2)

"There she is boss," the man from earlier said to his 'boss' as he pointed at me his eyes full of hatred and fear.

"So your the one who killed my men," the boss spat his tone venomous.

"Of course, they deserved to die I merely helped them end their miserable lives," Diana said her face and voice void of any emotion.

"How dare you!!!" a man behind them roared in anger at her words.

"I'm merely telling you the truth," Diana answered nonchalantly as they began roaring at her in anger and some came charging towards her swords raised.

Diana swiftly drew her sword and slashed through their bodies before they even got close, their bodies dropping to the ground lifeless. Sending fear into the hearts of those around, not to mention a burning hatred.

"Y-you killed them," one man pointed out, his voice trembling as he looks at his fallen companions that now lay lifeless on the ground engulfed in a sea of red.

"Of course I did, they meant to hurt innocents and I can't allow that," Diana said her voice empty but menacing "now let's get this over with," she proclaimed as she walks towards them only one blade in hand.

As the fight began the sunflower haired knight arrived at the palace and burst through Alex's office doors causing Kylo to drop his book. "Y-your majesty!" he yelled out of breath.

"What's wrong? Alex asked suddenly alert as he set down the documents.

"Th-there's trouble in town," he explained "my partner and I ran into the knight Sol and she said she ran into three scum and one got away. She said she was going after him and his boss and told us to clean up the mess. My partner went and got some back up while I came to report it."

"Wait, who's the knight Sol?" Hunter asked now sitting up straight.

"That's what people are calling that new silver haired knight, you're all friends with." The lemon haired man explained.

"Wait, you mean Diana?" Kylo asked shocked "Since when did she get a nickname?'

"That's not important," Alex scolded "did she tell you anything else?"

"No she just said that if we saw you, to tell you that she'd be back before midnight and not to worry."

This caused Kylo and Hunter to chuckle "That's definitely Diana," Kylo giggled.

"Was she injured?" Hunter asked the question they all wanted to ask.

"I'm not sure," the knight answered "she was covered in blood but I don't think she was injured."

"Ok, thank you. Please keep me updated." Alex said dismissing the knight.

"What are we going to do?" Hunter asked.

"Nothing," Alex replied.

"What?!" Kylo and Hunter exclaimed in unison.

"You heard me we're going to do nothing. If she's not back by midnight then we'll act," Alex informed them before going back to his paperwork. The others exchanged glance but said nothing.

Meanwhile the battle was beginning, some scum backed away in fear, where as others charged towards Diana. Some managed to land a hit before they were swiftly blocked and killed meeting a far earlier demise then a few of their other comrades.

"You monster!" some roared.

"Goddess of death!"

"Murderer!"

Different names were called as the walls are painted red with their blood. Tainting the ground crimson.

When only ten men were left two came charging towards Diana 'they're obviously more skilled than their friends,' she thought to herself as she once again engages in battle.

The ginger man attacked from her ight where as the brown-haired man attacked from her left aiming to trap Diana. However, you can't stop Diana that easily, quickly jumping back she avoids their blades and instead causing them to stab each other through the torso dropping dead in seconds.

As she steps over the bodies their boss and seven others began to slowly back away.

"You two deal with her," the boss ordered as he pushed two of his men forward this enraged Diana further.

'A leader who doesn't care for his men, is no leader and deserves to die,' Diana thought enraged at his actions but making sure to keep the flawless mask she wears intact letting no emotions slip through.

Diana quickly killed the two men before they could even lift their swords.

'How sad they chose this path I almost pity them.' She thought.

Within seconds all that was left was one man...the boss and he deserves death far more than any of his lackeys.

"W-who are you?" he asked fear evident in his voice.

"I wonder are you worthy to know?" Diana asked allowed as shivers caress his back.

"DIE!!!" He roared as he charges towards her, his sword raised as he attacks. Diana qickly parryed the blade before attacking him however, he quickly dodged only suffering a minor cut on his arm. It seems he can actually fight, unlike the others.

"Who are you?" he asked again as their swords clash, using the momentum to push herself back Diana leapt off the alleyway wall and over his head.

"Are you worthy enough to know?" Diana asked before plunging her sword through his heart.

"God...dess of d-death," he muttered bearly audible as he breathed his last landing with a distinctive thud, as he hits the ground.

"M-miss are you alright?" the knight with blonde hair from before asks as he comes running down the alley accompanied by three other men. "We heard the sound of a battle and came as quickly as we could," he explained as he and his men took in the blood-covered site before them.

"I'm fine," Diana answered to appease their concerns "I trust I can leave this mess up to you and your men I have somewhere to be," she said before walking off down the alleyway leaving the already shocked men dumbfounded.

Thanks to the recent commotion and time there aren't too many people out on the streets.

'Alex will probably moan and if the others are there I'll have to endure their moaning as well,' Diana thought with a sigh as she got Luna out her stall leading her outside the stables.

Luckily Luna knows it's not Dianas blood so she didn't get into a frenzy about seeing Diana covered in it.

"Come on girl," she said after mounting Luna "let's get back," she instructed before setting her off into a gallop as they rode to the palace the moon high overhead and the stars trolling brightly. The trees a blur as they ride through the palace gates stopping in front of a dumbfounded Alex.

After Diana unmounted Luna someone was quick to come and take her to her stall.

"What happened?" Alex asked a serious expression painted on his face as he takes in Dianas blood-covered state.

"I ran into some trouble on the way back but it's dealt with now," Diana answered blankly.

"What kind of trouble?" he continued asking as he follows her down the hallways, leading to her room so she can clean up.

"Just around thirty-six barbarians," she answers as she walks into her room.

"What?!" he asked astounded as he waits outside as she grabs a fresh pair of clothes and heads to her bathroom.

"I encountered six of them harassing a young girl and her mother so I dealt with them however, one got away," Diana explains as she scrubs the blood off, of herself as Alex listened from her bedroom door. "The one that escaped got his boss I had to deal with them before they got any further out of hand and so I did."

"And their bodies?"she heard him ask after a moment.

"I got some knights that were in the surrounding proximity to take care of it," she explained as she finishes washing herself and starts to drying herself off. "I hope you're not angered by my actions today," she said sincerely as she changes into the fresh pair of clothes and dries off her hair.

"No your actions sound reasonable I would have probably done the same, however, I do have to ask, since when have you cared if someone agrees with you?" he said after a moment as she walks out the bathroom.

"I don't however, it saves me a lot of trouble if someone does agree," she explains.

As she finishes explaining, something seems to suddenly dawn on Alex. "You're not hurt are you?" he asked his voice full of sincere worry as he strides into her room and looks her over, resting his hands on her shoulders.

It actually through Diana of guard, no ones ever been so genuinely worried about her welfare before and did this is the second time in a week he's chipped away at the hard layers of stone Diana encased her heart inside.

After a moment she replied to his question quickly regaining her composure. "I'm fine," Diana said reassuringly.

"Are you sure Diana?" Alex asked his voice and eyes filled with concern.

"I'm sure Alex," she reassured him with a small genuine smile one that he always seems to drag out of her.

"Are you sure though, you look pale?" he asks in worry "It could be because you haven't slept since you got here," he added before she could reply causing her to go speechless a knowing smile tugging at his lips. "What? Did you think I didn't know? Of course, I knew, but I also know that you're too stubborn to listen to me if I told you to rest," Alex pointed out before catching her as her legs gave way darkness swallowing Diana and blanketing her vision. "You silly, stubborn girl," is all Diana heard him say before she felt Alex carry her to her bed. Before, sleep completely took hold of her.
