As Diana sat on the balcony her legs hanging over the edge kicking slightly as she watches the lights slowly die out in the distance slowly letting the kingdom drift into sleep. As she admired the view Diana noticed a rustling in the nearby bushes.
"Thank you again for today," she heard Alex say his tone light as he leaned on the balcony beside where Diana's sat.
"Once again there's no need to thank me," she replied in a nonchalant manner. They sat in silence for awhile admiring the view before once again Diana noticed the rustling in the bushes but this time she saw the ends of a scarf as it disappears. "Alex?"
"Hmmm,"
"Is anyone suppose to be in the bushes over there?" she asked pointing to the bushes which are northwest from where they're sat.
"No, but I've noticed the rustling too let's go check it out."
"Alright let's go," DianaI said before jumping off the balcony to stand beside him and they rushed out of the palace down to the bushes using the darkness to hide them selves from sight. Running through the forest swords at their hips the young teens scanned the area and in only a few minutes they ended up in the clearing where they had seen the rustling.
"Do you see anything?" Alex asked as they both scanned the area, gripping their swords hilt tight.
"No," she replied from the tree she had jumped into but then they heard rustling coming from deeper in the forest. Diana jumped down from the tree and they both headed towards the noise. Staying concealed by the shadows and making sure to make they movements as silent as the night surrounding them. Drawing their weapons in a clear movement they searched the area for any danger.
"This is strange,' Alex stated from Dianas side weapon poised for attack.
"I agree," Diana answered before they saw someone hide behind a tree they ran towards them only to find they've disappeared. "It seems they're leading us further and further away from the palace," she pointed out as they scanned the area.
"Your right," Alex agreed becoming more alert as they heard rustling nearby and ran towards it. Before they could even scan the area they were both suddenly flown into the air the shock caused them to both drop their swords onto the ground.
"Are you okay?" Alex' voice is etched with concern.
"I'm fine, are you?" Diana replied.
"Yes I'm alright but we need to get down from here,"
"I agree," the two young teens are dangling above the forest limbs tangled together as their feet dangle outside e nets gaps. Diana sitting in Alex' lap as they just dangle above the forest floor. Under the light of the moon Alex and Diana can see a rosy blush painting each of their cheeks and the tips of their ears.
"I'll try and see if I can cut us down," Diana told him as she tried to reach for one of her daggers that she had hid in her boots earlier that day but unfortunately she couldn't reach them because of how they're trapped.
"Do you want me to grab one for you?" Alex asked as his blush deepened.
Which caused me to blush slightly as well "If you can theres one in my boot," I explained trying to hide my blush by instead scanning our surroundings for anyone else but as the moons being blocked from the trees it's hard to see.
I try to ignore it as Alex puts his hand inside my left boot and reaches down until he finds the dagger and carefully pulls it out making sure not to cut me.
"Here, it's probably easier for you to cut us down as your closer to the top of the net." Alex said as he handed the dagger over to me.
"Thank you," I replied as I reached up to try and cut the net as Alex watched are surroundings.
However, just as I was about to cut the robe an arrow came flying knocking the dagger out my hand causing it to full through the gab into the net and land next to our swords on the ground skidding behind a bush.
"Who are you?" Alex called out in a demanding voice.
"Oh look we caught the Crown prince as well," one voice commented in a happy tone which caused both of us to tense up.
"I'm sure that they'd be even happier if we bring him along to," another said in a cunning tone.
"Well it's not like we can just leave him here afterall he could try to follow us and killing him could make them mad," another voice pointed out.
"Why dont you stop hiding like cowards and talking like we're not here and instead show your faces and tell is what the hell you want from us," I barked at them but not showing my seething anger and frustration.
"Oh, so she finally grew a back bone," the first voice said condesendingly towards me.
However, they finally walked out of the shadows all three our men around six foot in height each with blonde hair. The one on the right has a ponytail, the one in the middle has short hair which seems slightly wild and the one on the lefts hair is plated reaching just past his chin. They're all in long black robes but underneath I can tell their each wearing the armour of Malum.
"So my parents sent you," I said coldly.
"Yes, you've caused quiet an issue and caused your parents to worry over your well being. They've barely slept since you went missing." The one with a plat replied.
"I must say I pity your acting skills those monsters who think of themselves as my parents havent been working about me. There worried I'll untangle their deceptive web of lies and expose the truth about them not to mention ruin their reputation."
"Well it seems that we'll be dragging you back by force," the short haired man said with a dramatic sigh.
As I distracted them Alex' hand was slowly moving towards my right boot and sliding inside gribbing the dagger. I can tell the ponytail man is the one who shot the previous arrow as hes holding a bow as well as some arrows at his waist.
As Alex slowly pulls it out I continue to distract them. "So my parents know I'm here how did they figure it out. Or did they send you here to spy on Fortis and you stumbled across me but instead of informing those beasts you decided to catch me and hand me over to them. But now you've got a crown prince caught in your net to."
"Your very perceptive," the short haired man commented "out of the little respect I hold for you I'll tell you your right on your second guess about us being sent here to spy."
Before we could continue an arrow blew past us knocking the dagger out of Alex' hand joining my other dagger behind the bush.
"Nice try but your not going anywhere except with us back to Malum," the ponytail man says with a cocky grin. As he says that he fired to more arrows because of the persision Alex and I are forced to stay in we cant block. One arrow inpales itself into Alex' left leg while the over lands in my right thigh.
"That's no fun they didnt even flinch," the man with a plat moaned in protest. I can slowly feel my consciousness fade away and my body feel numb I can feel Alex is having the same problem and I cant even move to bite my arm and cause it to bleed the pain would keep me awake but my body feels to numb.
Even though we both try to remain conscious Alex and I are both slowly losing the fight as my head tilts and falls on his chest all I can see is those three despicable men. Although I cant feel my body I still feel something like guilt for causing Alex to get rapped up in my mess. Then my consciousness fade away but before it completely fades I feel Alex' head lay on mine and a few seconds later us fall to the ground and then darkness takes me.
