Part 1: Death is just the beginning

The cool night breeze swept over Kiara and tossed her slightly wavy copper locks about and she took a moment to brush her fingers through her shoulder length hair while glancing around the quiet street she was on. Everything was peaceful, in contrast to the girls darting gaze and uneasy stance, almost as though she expected a stalker around the next corner, or some other uncalled for danger. But nothing happened.

She continued walking in silence, passing by the occasional store with eye catching wares set up just behind the glass that reflected her tired looking self. Pale skin, plain black hoodie, jeans, and all. For a second she stopped to gaze at her light grey eyes that reflected I'm the mirror like glass, deep in thought, when another girls voice sounded behind her. "Hey, what are you doing in my territory?" Kiara glanced back and saw a beautiful blond haired girl with hard brown eyes. She was already tall compared to Kiara's measly 5'3", but with the added fancy high heels she looked like she was almost six feet tall. However, what really gave Kiara pause was the girls aura. She was a half god. Probably Odin if she had to guess, and she didn't look too happy. "I'm sorry... What?" The girl narrowed her eyes and placed her perfectly manicured hands on her hips. "Why the fuck are you in my territory? I won't ask again." Kiara glances around again and starts edging down the sidewalk. "I'm sorry but I think you have the wrong person. I'm just walking home from the library." The girls gaze turns heated. "You know the fucking rules. Blessed blood's that are powerful enough get to pick their own territory in the city. This is mine. You know, I could kill you for trespassing, and quite easily too. It looks like your bloodline is weak and pathetic at best." Kiara does her best to ignore the insulting tone. "I'm just a human, so technically you're not allowed to restrict or hurt me. On that note I'll be heading home. It's getting pretty dark. Bye!" She turns to make hurried escape only to feel a hand grasp her arm in a vice like grip. 'Shit.'

"You really think I'm going to fall for that? I can see it in your aura, though weak it's definitely there. Lying only pisses me off more, so prepare yourself. I'm not letting you off easy like I was going to." The world seems to slow down as the girl spins her to face her and raises a now glowing fist while behind her Kiara spots a helicopter falling and heading straight for them. Her eyes widen a little and she tries to squirm free, but to no avail as the fist make contact with her cheek, seering the flesh where it strikes, just as the smoking machine crashes into them. The girl is outright crushed while her blood splatters everywhere, but Kiara isn't so lucky. She catches a glimpse of the unconscious looking pilot just as the spinning blades strike her, slicing her chest and gut open in a bright, overwhelming flash of agony. She felt herself flying backwards and into a nearby pole before slumping to the ground and watching her blood pool across the ground.

The cold was already seeping into her bones while the helicopter came to a stop halfway inside the pawn shop she was looking in just moments ago. Smoke drifted from the machine and flames began to lick upward.

*Now, you might be wondering why things took such a bad turn so fast. Well, for that I'll have to take you back. 19 years back, in fact, to the day I was born. My mother was good at one thing in particular. Cheating death. And, as one can expect, that didn't sit well with one of the gods. That very god tried to curse my mother, but for some reason the curse passed straight to me, her unborn child. Along with the damned blessing from another god. To elaborate a little, the curse was meant to create a life of misery and danger for the unlucky individual, while the blessing decidedly prevented said individual from dying from anything that resulted from the curse. This curse and blessing has made my life a living hell from the day I was born and dropped on the hard time by the doctor who suddenly started having a heart attack. I healed at an inhuman speed and began crying, but it only got worse from there...*

Kiara slowly dragged her gaze to the hand peeking out from under the helicopter and almost threw up, and probably would have if not for the fact that her own guts were spilled across the ground with most of her blood. "I....m....so....rry....." She chokes out through the burning sensation that suddenly fills her body, wrenching a terrible scream from her throat as her body starts knitting itself back together. This was always the worst part. Feeling her body reform was akin to being burned alive, something she'd experienced before, and having millions of worms wriggling around inside her. It was unpleasant to say the least.

After almost twenty minutes of incredible pain and discomfort her body is back together with newly formed blood and intestines. This time when she glanced at the river of blood and guts she had to quickly turn and get on all fours as she lost what little was left in her newly reformed stomach. She kneeled there for close to half an hour before she heard the sirens wailing in the distance. "Fuck... What a terrible end to the day.." She murmurs and gets up, wiping her mouth on her already ruined hoodie before taking the shortcut home to avoid anymore disastrous confrontations.
