Its been three days and there had been nothing from my godly parent. Gods it was driving me nuts! But for now, I needed to focus on what the Athena kids plan to capture the flag. I was both anxious and excited, plus I was on the Hermes's cabin and Athena's cabin team.
"Then Travis and a group of Hermes kids will move in and BAM game over for the other team." An Athena kid finished.
"Got it, so, I can choose anyone?" Travis asked.
"Yes, and be fast about it."
I didn't hear any of the other names except for my own name.
"And... Peck." Travis looked over at her.
I nodded and Travis, she and four other Hermes and Athena kids trudged into the forest. I heard a war cry from the Ares cabin.
"Ok, Peck, no one expects you to be the one to grab the flag." Travis looked over at me. "You'll be the one to grab the flag, got it?"
"Yeah, I understand." I nodded.
"Ok, listen up everyone." Travis looked at the group. "The rest of the Hermes cabin has set up traps at our flag and the rest of the Athena cabin is going to cause a distraction, while we run in and take the flag."
The group agreed and they moved closer, using the forest as cover.

The flag blew in the wind a group of seven Ares kids were guarding it.
"Do we move in now or what?" A boy from the Athena cabin whispered.
"Wait, the Athena kids should be here any minute," Travis replied and if on cue the distraction came out of the forest and five of the Ares kids responded by charging at them.
"Ok, let's go they've caused a distraction." Five of them raced towards the two Ares kids that were left behind and overwhelmed them.
Then it was my turn, I ran as fast as I could to the flag. I was stopped by a familiar face, Alex.
"Come on, you can't take me on. You've hardly had any training." Alex unsheathed his own dagger.
"Ha, you're just saying that only because you're a child of Ares, the god of war," I growled and something she couldn't possibly explain happened.
The ground broke open and three skeletons crawled out. The group of kids I was with stopped and so did the Ares kids. Nausea swept over me but I swallowed it down and the skeletons charged at Alex.
"Go, Peck!" A kid yelled.
I ran past Alex and grabbed the flag. I turned and ran back, past the skeletons and Alex, past the rest of the Ares kids and my group and back into the forest. If I remembered correctly I knew the path back to the border, so I ran through the forest with the flag. I could see the border less than a quarter-mile away. I stumbled when I saw a kid carrying the flag, he was in the open and farther than me from the border. I unsheathed her dagger and ran out of the woods to the border even faster. I hurtled past the border then fell over and threw up, dropping the flag and winning the game.
"Aw man, I was almost at the border!" The Ares kid threw their flag on the ground.
"Ha!" I laughed, "Athena and Hermes won!" I then crawled to the flag, stood up and picked it up.
The group of kids that she was with came racing over, they then stopped and looked above her head.
"What?" I asked looking at them confused.
"You're a- a child of Hades." A kid gasped.
"I'm a child of Hades?" I looked up and recognized the mark of Hades.
