Chapter 49

Jasmine's POV

Immediately his friend called Asher left promising that he would come back.

It broke my heart to see him walk away.

I knew he had a million and one other things to do but I wished he would stay.

I reluctantly walked back into the midst of my friends after Asher's retreating figure disappeared from my sight.

The makeshift hideout wasn't what I expected at all.

He and his friends really outdid themselves.

I spotted Tobias lying on the duvet Francine by his side.

She was a beautiful legged blonde and also a strong fighter. Unfortunately for her she left her mate back in the cell in the underground dungeon. Even if we weren't close friends we talked whenever we approached each other.

I took the space right beside Tobias on the side Francine wasn't occupying.

They were both looking at the lantern lit ceiling of the cozy cave.

"How are you holding up Fi?" I asked softly my gaze settling on her features.
