Endings and Beginnings Part-1

After two days of pure rest and being spoiled by dad and Julia with good food which I kept throwing up. I feel dizzy for some reason. My good guess is my medication doses are too strong for me. I have to call my doctor here.

I had to explain to Dad everything and I ended up bawling like a baby and he kept comforting me with his kind words. Words that will stick to me for a lifetime.

"Cassie, I'm sorry. I know it hurts, but it will pass someday, and it's just you and your dad now, we can be strong together right?"

He had said the same thing the last time I cried like that.

On Thursday, I cried after seeing the stupid expensive wedding dress of the lovelorn idiot.

"Cassie! We can return this, you can just sell it, forget about this okay? Don't think too much."

"I was so stupidly hopeful, what the fuck is wrong with me?" I ask Ashley angrily!

"Nothing! He is the scumbag! Julia?"

I turn around to find her standing in the bedroom doorway.

"I just came by to give you some apple slices. Sorry I overheard."

"No, it's okay Come in."

"Look Cassie, your dad did not tell me much in detail about what happened in Seattle, but from what I know is that you are a kind girl and you deserve so much more and better than all of this. You're 22 and already successful you have so many amazing things ahead of you, so don't let other people squash those dreams okay?"

"You're right. I should just focus on what I do best which is Science."

"There you go, My nerdy friend is back."

"Julia?"

"Yeah?"

"You haven't bought a wedding dress right?"

I get off my bed and grab the gown and hand it to Julia.

" I think you should have this gown. I want to gift it to you. Not because it's spare, but when I bought it I fell in love with the dream of being married with love and trust. While I am still dreaming about that you and dad have that dream in reality. I have seen it in his goofy smile and yours, those little bickering you have about who is going to cook dinner, it's all there. I am so glad you found my dad."

"Cassie, thank you. Thank you so much. I am so happy I chased after your dad."

We kept laughing at Julia, blushing at her bluntness.

"I think I am ready to release it!"

"What? Now?? Hold on... I will call up Xavier."

"Cool, I am going to set up my laptops and computer system."

I had called Sally to consult her about releasing the program myself.

I am going to use target ads and ad sense and relevant searches to direct people to access ATLAS software for free.

Sally Fox is also the webmaster and she has distributed the links among her circles already and posted it on MIT's dashboard. Soon I am sure it will spread on to Harvard's dashboard too if he chooses to. Dad is also helping to get the word spread.

After rigorous two hours of work with Debussy playing in the background.

We are ready to go. Ready to face the world. Me and ATLAS.

"Okay? Let's do it!"

Xavi and Ashley, Dad and Julia along with Nick sitting next to me. I enter the final passcode and press enter.

My heart is racing so fast I gulp down a bottle of water. We check out the other monitor to check if it's working or not. And...

IT DOES!!! ATLAS IS LIVE NOW!

"CONGRATS!!! Champagne everyone?"

Xavier burst opens a bottle as I sit dumbfounded with dad and I hug him.

"Thanks, Dad. It was possible because you never gave up on me."

"Sluggers! I am so proud of you! It's going to be brilliant."

I smile at the possibilities. I can hope for the best.

By the end of this week, The ATLAS Project is growing instantly in numbers of users and it created the hailstorm I wanted.

My old phone kept buzzing so I switched it off and took out its battery. I bought the Samsung Z fold. The first picture was of my friends and family with champagne glasses.

I also discussed with dad about applying to EPITA in France for my dual degree while working with Oscar. I got a seat! I did the virtual interview as well.

That same week, we got two visitors Craig along with Special Agent Sanchez and a prosecutor on the night of Saturday.

I underwent a deposition about the Hank Smith case.

They asked me so many questions before the trial as well. But I was well prepared.
