Only sixty-four teams remained now. The rest were all told to rather go home or watch the rest of the games. Most people left but a solid few still stayed behind to watch.
"I never saw a maze when we entered this town, so when did they have the time to make one?" Steven asked me. I shrugged and continued making my way towards where Daz said the maze's entrance was located.
Daz stood in front of the entrance with his hands behind his back. Daz cleared his throat and gathered everyone's attention.
"For this challenge only the first thirty-two people will move on to the next round. Inside the maze there will be monsters you have to fight. Every thirty minutes the maze will change its shape but the exit will stay the same. You're free to start now." Daz said with a smile.
I grabbed Steven by the arm and pulled him into the maze before anyone could mentally prepare themselves. As I ran through the maze with Steven there were to people running next to us who had the same idea. One was a male with silver hair that was carrying a bow, while the other was a female with pink hair that carried a hammer.
"I'm guessing you're the guys who placed second, right? That means you lost to us." The girl with pink hair said. The silver haired boy turned his head and gave her an annoyed look. Before turning to face me.
"Sorry about Julia over there, she's really talkative. My name's Ashe, it's a pleasure to meet you." Ashe said with a smile.
"That's cool in all but maybe instead of talking we could focus on saving our breath for finding the exit?" I asked.
The maze was bigger than I ever imagined. As I ran through the maze I was stopped by two different paths leading in different directions. I looked at the left path then turned my head towards the right path. Before I could decide where I wanted to go Ashe and Julia went through the left path. As we watched them run we heard a loud screaming noise and what sounded like footsteps.
"Daz said there would be monsters. It was only a matter of time before we found one." Steven sighed. I let out a small laugh but stopped once I saw what Ashe and Julia were running from. There was a giant chicken chasing them.
"Guess we're going on the right path. Let's start running. Like now." I said. I made a break towards the right path as well as Steven, with Ashe and Julia on our rear.
The maze began to change its shape while we were running from the chicken. I noticed that up ahead the path in front of us was closing. I had an idea on how we could escape the chicken.
"Everyone jump through the closing wall, that might be our best chance of getting out of here!" I yelled. Everyone nodded and began running even faster towards the wall. Finally, we all made it through. That included the chicken who somehow managed to break the wall.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me."
