The Classes of Magic

"Ew…" I said, holding onto my new weapon.

Megumi had fused my training sword and the spider leg together to make the thing Katsu and I were holding now. Just looking at this thing gave me shivers.

"We can be grossed out about our new weapons later but right now I want to congratulate you on learning your first spell." Katsu said, having the same disgusted look as I did.

"Oh yeah! Do you know what kind of magic you're gonna specialize in?" Megumi asked.

"Well let's see… you focus on healing, Katsu uses projectile and basic attack magic. What others are there?" I asked.

"Well there's the ones where you can fuse elemental magic into a weapon, though there's not many people who specialize in it. Then there's summoner type casters." Megumi explained.

The summoner magic seemed pretty interesting and so did the one where you could fuse magic into a weapon.

"Hey wait, how come I can only specialize in one form of magic?" I asked.

"To put it simply, your body can't handle it. That's why people who can cast multiple spells of different types tend to be weaker then casters who specialize in just one category." Megumi answered.

So I can use multiple spells but it would be better if I just specialized in one? Seems simple enough. I only had one question left for Megumi though.

"How come there aren't many magic casters that specialize in fusing their weapon with magic?" I asked.

"It's only useful if you have a weapon. So if your weapon were to break you'd be defenseless." Megumi answered.

Well that sounded kind of useless. Did the class even come with anything good or was it just a waste of time?

"It's not as bad as it sounds though. People who specialize in it tend to be called Wild Cards."
