Wild Card

"Wild Card?" I asked with an intrigued look on my face.

"There are multiple stories about heroes like that. In short, they all revolve around a mysterious adventurer who is tasked with completing an almost impossible task." Katsu explained.

"There's no proof that people like that actually existed, Katsu." Megumi said, shaking her head with a disapproved look on her face.

"They're real." Katsu said with an angry look on his face.

The two of them then proceeded to argue about if the stories were real as I just stood back and watched. I felt like we were forgetting something important though. Oh yeah, the dungeon.

"Hey guys?" I said, trying to get their attention.

"What?!" They both yelled simultaneously.

I pointed at our surroundings which caused both of them to be hit with a sudden realization. I let out an annoyed sigh and lowered my hand.

"We can talk about the wild card later. Right now let's just focus on clearing this dungeon." I said, walking towards one of the doors in the room.

When I opened the door I was hit with a sudden blast of heat. I think I'll just leave this closed for now.

"Katsu, what doors have you checked out?" I asked, looking back at him.

"Only the one where the spider attacked me." He answered.

So what door leads to the next part of the dungeon? There was eight doors here and we've already checked out two of them so we we'd find it eventually, I just didn't want to enter another wrong door.

"What do you think is in the other doors?" Megumi asked.

Katsu shrugged and walked to the door next to me. Without hesitation he flung the thing open and took a step inside.

"I found it!" Katsu yelled, poking his head out the door to look at us.

Well that was… anticlimactic.
