"You're on!" I said, rushing towards the man.
I swung my sword but the man easily parried it and countered with a knee to the gut. I quickly jumped back just in time to block his own attack.
The man began onslaught barrage of slashes which made it impossible to try and play on the offensive. All I could do was dodge and even then I was just barely managing to evade them.
"You're not half bad, kid. Guess I'll have to try a little harder." The man said, ending his barrage by jumping back.
The man lowered the cloth on his head to cover his eyes completely. He positioned his swords in the shape of an X and leaned forward a bit.
I gripped the handle of my sword and took a defensive position as I waited in anticipation for the man's attack.
"Blind Slash."
The man vanished from my line of sight just to reappear right in front of me, already halfway done with his attack. Although I managed to block it, the power behind the attack send my flying back into a wall.
"He's too fast. There's no way I can keep up." I said, slowly picking myself back up.
"You rely on your eyes too much. With where you're at now, you'll never beat me." The man said, adjusting the cloth so it would only cover his ears.
The man's words echoed in my mind. What did he mean when he said that I relied on my eyes too much? Before I could think anymore, the man readied himself for another attack.
"Wait… That's it!" I said, smiling at my new found answer.
As the man moved forward, I sat myself down and closed my eyes. I cleared all my current thoughts and focused on what would be in front of me. Although nothing happened immediately, I still continued to focus my mind.
"It seems you took what I said to heart. Now the question is if you can successfully pull it off." The man said, most likely in the same position I last saw him.
"Silent Thrust." The man said.
As I sat there with my eyes closed, a bright yellow light appeared just inches away from my face. I quickly leaned my head to the side and felt something sharp cut my cheek.
