The Merchant

Outside of the hideout a merchant stood before the ocean, watching the waves as they went by. The sound of our footsteps caused him to turn around revealing who he was.

"Hey wait… you're that merchant from before!" I shouted.

"It's thanks to him that Emma and I managed to get into the hideout." Steven said.

If that was the case then I should thank him.

I went to turn towards the man and thank him but he just shook his head and gave Steven an annoyed look.

"Steven over there decided to use me as a decoy without telling me anything so I'm just gonna repay the favor." The merchant said, cracking his knuckles.

I turned back towards Steven and he immediately started avoiding eye contact. I let out a sigh and shrugged my shoulders.

"What do you need him to do?" I asked cautiously.

"Nothing too serious. I just want him helping around my shop for the week." The merchant answered.

With the merchant's expression, I was expecting his request to be much worse. If it really was just helping around his shop then I see no problem with that.

"John can you wait for a second?" Alice suddenly walked in front of me.

"I guess?" I answered back.

Alice stopped halfway between me and the merchant and stared him down. The merchant's wavy brown hair blew in the wind as Alice stared him down.

"Um… can I help you?" The merchant tilted his head a little.

"We don't even know who you are so I'm not going to just let my idiot of a leader just give away his guild members to a stranger."

Was the idiot part really necessary?

The merchant smiled at Alice's words, "how rude of me to not introduce myself earlier. The name's Felix and I'm going to be the greatest merchant to ever exist!"
