CHAPTER FOUR [F a d e d]

IT TOOK more than ten months before the young man finally woke up from coma. At first, he's not speaking and seems like observing the premises.

Even Shibazaki keeps himself guarded and controls what he would say to twelve. When Twelve recovered, he slowly take a glance at him, but still remained speechless.

"How are you feeling? Is there something that hurts you? Do you want food or drink?" Shibazaki asked Twelve.

He just stared at him. His lips moved a little but no words came out of it.

"Just tell me what you need so that. . ."

"Where am I? Who are you? Who am I?" He asked her perpetually. He didn't let Shibazaki even finish his sentence.

Shibazaki was so shocked and unable to speak that it was only fitting that he hit the intercom to call the Doctor.

They found that Twelve had amnesia because of its coma. But he will definitely regain his lost memories eventually.

He and his seniors had already discussed what to name him.

"Sachi. . ." Shibazaki said. "You are Sachi Uchida."

The young man looked at Shibazaki with disbelief on his face. For the young man, the name was foreign to him.

But the young man let it go. He was told to rest because he would be able to get out of the hospital by next week.

The young man smiled warmly. His gaze flying out the window of his room where he could see the beautiful view. Sachi's flying white wings ascending to the sky were seen outside. Suddenly, his eyes glittered in excitement.

Shibazaki had just nurtured him, letting him take over what was now in his mind. After all, he had been sleeping for so long that he knew the young man was still alive.

From the stare he remembered what his seniors had said. All of his papers has been prepared for its immediate departure from Japan. It took a long time to process everything he needed.

He will live in France. He will also study there. But he admits that even though Sashi didn't go to school, he was already smart. He's IQ level is high. He's actually a genius. He is confident that he will quickly adapt to the culture of the country he would be in.

They want him to have a normal and wonderful future. They should not put the boy's talent into waste. They will develop his skills so that he could achieve a good future.

Everything is planned, even his position in the department they have in France.

He is happy because he knows that the young man will be successful. Nine's sacrifice will be worth it. Somehow, a victim of the Athena plan was able to survive. Shibazaki knew that their Government wanted to help Sachi and for that, he was happy for the young man.

[END OF FLASHBACK]

Days passed by, Sachi quickly took over life in Japan. One day, he met Shibazaki in the hallway which led to the cafeteria.

"Hi, Sir Shibazaki," he greeted.

Suddenly, Sachi hesitated to ask him what was troubling him. Eventually, he decided to ask again. He removed a lump oh his throat first. He quickly slid both hands on his slack's pockets.

"I just had to ask. The other day. . . is something wrong?" Sachi looked into the eyes of Detective.

"Ah, yes, that's nothing. I just remembered something and I was just wondering why they sent you here when there could be more suitable position for you in France," Shibazaki said to the young man. He quickly diverted their conversation to another topic so that the young man's attention will be turned. But inside, he was worried that Sachi would notice that he was restless.

The expression on the young man's face soon changed. The smile she posted on the lips became friendly again.

"I am really happy to be back in our own country, sir. This is where I really want to serve. I just satisfied the wish of the superiors for me to work there. Fortunately, they have agreed to my request that I stay here even temporarily, too."

Shibazaki did not replied. He could not help but admire Sachi. Knowing that many cases have been resolved, it has outperformed others in their sector. At a very young age this is a lot of achievement.

"Sir, you want me to go get you rame?" Sachi asked.

"Right, Shibazaki. Sir Sachi is free," Hamura invited.

"Sorry. I will still go to Mukasa," Shibazaki declined.

"It's fine. Maybe next time," Sachi said.

He also changed his decision to eat in the cafeteria. Suddenly he wanted to eat outside. Since he came home to Japan, he has never been out. It was a job he immediately cared about..

"Where are we?" he asked as Sachi glanced around. They are currently in the city of Tokyo.

"I know something that has good recipe," Hamura suggested to the young man.

"Sir Sachi, I heard you will be here for good?" Hamura said.

Sachi smiled, but he couldn't answer it right now.

Just in time, the hot ramen they ordered arrive. When they started eating. Sachi was halfway done when suddenly his cellphone rang.

"Chief Kurahashi," he uttered from his mind only.

"Ah, excuse me. I just have to talk," he apologized to Hamura who nodded and continued to eat the ramen.

He first went out of the restaurant to talk to their senior. He strolls around as he talks. As he walk, he looks at each person he meets.

With the voices he hears. . . he sees every color in their voices.

He has Synesthesia. It's just a rare disease. He has the ability to see color in people's voices.

Once again he turned his attention to the speaker from the other line and he greeted him warmly. He was told to just enjoy and continue his wonderful accomplishments as they did in their France branch. The young man heard a lot of compliments before their conversation ended. He smiled at him for being so kind to him.

He was stunned when he noticed that he was walking too far. He was already in front of a mall. He didn't even know how to get back where they were eating. Luckily, his cellphone had a cellular map just in case he needs to return to his motorcycle.

His attempt to return to the dining room suddenly disappeared. He didn't know but he started looking from inside the mall.

Maybe he was going to go first. He called Hamura if he had anything else to do. It's good that he paid for their food before he left.

He just walked around until he stopped at the stuffed toys store. A medium sized rabbit caught his attention immediately. Feeling a strange sensation upon seeing it, he couldn't help but take one of them as he immediately pinched the stuffed toy.

"Sir, do you want to buy? That so affordable!" asked the saleslady who stared at him. He smiled at her and immediately paid for the stuffed toy.

He didn't know why he bought it. Sachi's shoulder twitched with a strange feeling.

He just kept walking out of the stuffed toy store. He stopped again when he found a bookstore. He also likes to read things. He immediately went inside and bought a book.

"There are so many options here. . ." Sachi whispered to himself as he smiled at the book shelves. When he finished the selection, he immediately went to the cashier.

He watched the books he held in his hand. Until he reached the cashier booth, he immediately dropped the books on the counter while the woman was busy scrambling to the bottom of her cabinet.

Suddenly, she stopped from the stand looking at the woman's image. His heartbeat fluttered in those moments.

"Is this all right, sir?" the cashier asked him. He saw the color pale yellow in her voice. Suddenly, a little girl's dark memories entered her. Similarly, the girl's voice is also pale yellow.

"You know what, sir? You have a great taste! All you bought are must reads." The woman kept talking to him while calculating the price of the books.

He stared at the woman in front of him, unable to recall the strange emotions that were raging through him.

Until the woman raised his face—they stared at each other.

Sachi could see the shock in her expression, like what he had a while ago.

She seemed like crying at that moment. She was totally stunned even her assistance to him. He could see how shaky the woman's hands were. But she still didn't take away her gaze on him.

Same thing goes with him. He feels the same way. Suddenly he wants to embrace her, but he knows that it's too much and too bad.

They just realized that the manager at the bookstore suddenly spoke.

"Oh, Lisa, is there a problem?"

"N-nothing, Ma'am!"

"Your name is Lisa," Sachi said suddenly.

She glanced at the man once again. She could see the glimmering end of his eyes staring at him. Lisa just ignores that and continue working.

Sachi couldn't help his admiration to Lisa. She's not like the usual girls he met that stares at him differently.

It was as if they had known each other for a long time.

After paying, he left. Sachi was about to leave the store when he saw Lisa again. She was still there staring at him in that moment.

It was the first time he had ever felt shy because of a woman. He couldn't explain how he feel but he felt weird thet he caught Lisa also looking at him. He couldn't stop the grin on his lips as if something else had happened between them. He was confused by his feelings.

"Maybe because Lisa is pretty. . ." Sachi whispered.

He suddenly stopped himself from analyzing his feelings for Lisa. He felt a void in his thoughts.

"I-I'm not ready. . . I still have a lot to achieve and do in my job. I'll focus on dating later on," Sachi whispered.

But there was one part in his mind that strongly opposed to it. It seemed that his heart was broken at the thought of avoiding that woman.

It is contrary to what he really wants.

"There's something different about Lisa. . ." Sachi said hesitantly.

But he quickly shook his head. He just knew recently but a lot of things already marvel his mind.

"God damn! For Christ sake, Sachi! You're being crazy over a girl!"

He had decided to return to the office because he was late again. His seniors will definitely talk to him again when he arrive at the office.
