Chapter Twenty-one

As Shrey boarded off the bus, warm rays of the sun greeted his half-sleepy face, driving out the chill his body had absorbed when he had entered the bus forty minutes ago. The quick morning rain shower had left puddles on the muddy campus ground. He tried to avoid stepping in any as he passed through the familiar enormous metal gate that granted entry into the school grounds.

On his way to Room 201, he saw several faces known to him. Some he had befriended over the course of past two weeks and some he knew he would make friends with in the future. He had assured victory to his team by scoring three out of five goals in their first inter-class match and since then wherever he went, eyes followed him. Most belonging to girls. Just not the ones he wanted.

He was about to make a call to Mayra when he felt a pat on his back. Turning around, he took in the smiling face of Roy, now his team-mate in the football team.
