I opened my eyes, but everything was still black. I couldn't see anything, but I knew I was in a bed, I tried to get up out of it but I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder.
"Woah! Easy there, don't strain yourself, you're okay. You absolutely destroyed Nine!" I heard Kaminari's voice.
"K-Kaminari? Why can't I see? What's going on?" I fretted.
"Alyx, it's alright, calm down. You aren't hallucinating or anything like that. You've got gauze and wrap around your eyes. You won't be able to take it off for a little while." Jiro explained.
"Where are we? Where's everyone else, are they alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, they're fine. We're in a hospital, by the way." Jiro told me.
I gave a sigh of relief, I thought something was wrong! I felt around for some type of bar to hold onto. I wasn't sure how this bed was laid out so it was kind of hard to figure out.
"Are you wanting to get up?" Kaminari asked.
"Here, let us help you." Jiro added.
I heard Kaminari move towards the side of my bed, he grabbed my hand and my shoulder. It kind of hurt to move.
"Hey, don't strain yourself, take it easy." Jiro advised.
My right shoulder hurt like hell, not to mention my eyes, I guess I really must've screwed myself up! Kaminari and Jiro helped me off the bed.
"Where are you wanting to go?" Jiro questioned.
"I-I need to see Deku. Could you take me to see Momo after as well?" I replied.
"Sure, we're gonna start walking now." Kaminari told me.
We slowly walked outside of the room, and we went out to the hallway. It felt like forever before I heard one of them knock on the door and open it.
"Deku, are you-" I stopped myself.
I felt his Heat Energy. One For All, he still had it! But it hurt to feel for his Heat Energy, maybe I really can't use my eyes...
I softly smiled at him, "I just answered my own question."
"Alyx! Are you alright? What happened?" He questioned.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine, I just won't be able to see for a while." I answered.
"Well, can't you just heal your eyes?" Deku asked.
He brought up a very good point, why didn't I just heal them to begin with?
"Well, the Doctor said that they wouldn't exactly be as strong as before if he did. He'd be just a bit above being blind, I guess?" Kaminari responded.
"Oh, so he's gotta heal it naturally? Wouldn't that-" Deku stopped talking.
What was he gonna say? Why'd he stop talking?
"H-How's Momo doing, Alyx?" Deku suddenly asked.
"Oh! You're right! Kaminari, Jiro, can we go check on her too?" I questioned.
"Yep, we can go now." Jiro agreed.
I waved at Deku as we left the room. As we were walking down the hallway, I had a question in my head, was everyone else here as well?
"Where's everyone else at?" I spoke up.
"Well, everyone that's been cleared and okay are helping out around town. You know, disaster relief stuff." Jiro responded.
Disaster relief? Was the fight that bad? We stopped, and one of them knocked on a door. They opened it up and we walked inside.
"A-Alyx!" I heard Momo yell.
I broke out of Kaminari and Jiro's grip. I ran towards where I thought Momo was... Buuut, I tripped and sort of face planted into her hospital bed.
"I'm okay!" I laughed.
I got up and felt around and touched Momo's hand, she pulled me close and hugged me. I got my bearings and hugged her tightly.
"Are you alright?" Momo wondered.
"I'm fine, just a little blind, but fine. It's nothing I can't handle!" I joked.
"That's good, not the whole blind thing, but that's good." She giggled.
I stood back up after we stopped hugging, "So, how long until I can take this off?"
"Well, that's the thing," I heard someone else say, "With the current state of your eyes, kid, maybe a few months?"
"H-Hawks?! What are you doing here?" Kaminari exclaimed.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, a few months? I can't be wearing whatever was on my face for a few months!
"Y-You're... You're not kidding, are you?" I asked Hawks.
"From what I've heard and seen, yeah, I'm not. But, hey, look on the brightside! At least you won't have to do boring school work at U.A. for a while." He chuckled.
I slightly smiled, but what about hero work and everything else? Would I be stuck at the dorms doing nothing for the next month or so? I didn't want to be sitting at the dorms doing nothing.
[A Few Days Later...]
I was stuck in a hospital bed for quite a while, it was oddly peaceful. I heard my door open and someone walked in.
"Hey, we're leaving. Come on." Bakugo told me.
I sat there and looked in the direction that I heard his voice.
"I kind of can't see, you know. Just a thought." I sighed.
I heard Bakugo walk over to my bed, "Fine, get up. I'm not gonna move you myself, Amnesia."
I sat up and put my hand out, I found Bakugo's shoulder and grabbed it. I got off my bed and kept my hand on Bakugo's shoulder. We walked out of the room and into the hallway. I already hated this not seeing bullshit, I didn't want to have to have someone guide me around all the time.
"We're almost at the exit, we're going back home on a boat." Bakugo informed me.
I couldn't help but feel like I was just dead weight, I honestly couldn't wait to get my sight back. I heard Bakugo opened a door, and we walked through, I felt someone grab my hand and I let go of Bakugo's shoulder. I smiled as I already knew who it was.
"It'll be a little bit before we get to the boat." Momo spoke.
I nodded and we walked towards wherever this boat was. I wonder if it would be like a yacht of some kind?
"So, are you sure you'll be alright?" She wondered.
"I guess. I won't be of much use anymore, though." I lamented.
I felt her grip tighten a bit on my hand. She must've been feeling the same frustration I was about this.
"Alright, we're here. There's a ramp in front of you, it's steep." Momo advised.
We slowly went up the ramp and got onto the boat. There was a couch on the boat?! What kind of boat was this, a yacht maybe? As I laid there, I heard the familiar sounds of Kaminari's favorite song, I couldn't help but smile. I drifted off to sleep, I honestly needed it after all this time. I woke up in my bed, Shoji or Sato must've carried me here. That must've been a long way! All I could really do was lay there, as much as I wanted to cry, I couldn't. I heard a knock on my door, and my door opened.
"Hey, we just made dinner, I can help you get downstairs, bro." Kirishima bubbled.
I sat up from my bed and Kirishima walked over and put my arm around his shoulder. We walked out of my room and headed downstairs. Kirishima helped me sit down in a chair, and pushed me in a bit.
"Smells good. What did you guys make?" I asked.
"I tried out another thing I wanted to make. It's Okonomiyaki! I've had it quite a bit when I was younger and it was super good!" Mina answered.
Everyone started to eat. I stared at where I thought my plate was and put my hands on the table.
"Hey, you need help?" Sero wondered.
"Hm? Oh, no, I'm fine! I can handle it." I reassured him.
I started to indulge in Mina's Okonomiyaki. It was really, really good! After dinner, Kirishima helped me back upstairs to my room. After he left, I attempted to get ready for bed. It wasn't as hard as I thought, although finding the bathroom by myself was a little difficult, but I've gotten most of the layout memorized, kind of. As I got dressed for bed, someone knocked on my door. I slowly walked over to my door and opened it. I felt Momo fall into me, she hugged me tightly. Was she crying?
"I-I'm so sorry. I really wish I could help you; I honestly do!" Momo sniffled.
"Hey, it's alright. You don't need to apologize for something you didn't do." I told her.
I put my hand on her cheek and wiped the tears from her eyes, "See, I'm smiling. You should be too!"
I smiled at her, and I felt a smile start to form on her face. We walked over to my bed and I sat down on it, I could tell she was still standing there. I laid down and she practically melted on top of me.
"Were you really waiting for me to lay down to do that?" I asked her.
"Uh huh!" Momo responded.
I laughed and I put my arms around her. You know, maybe this isn't as bad as I thought. I sat up and felt her move a bit away from me.
"Sooo... How the hell am I suppose to shower?" I wondered.
"Oh, I can assist you with that!" Momo chirped.
"L-Like I'm some sort of baby?" I exclaimed.
"Well, if you'd like to put it that way, I guess so!" Momo giggled.
[25 Minutes Later...]
"O-Owch! Hey! Watch the hair!" I yelped.
"Well... It's not... My fault... That your hair is so miserably tough!" Momo argued.
Having her comb and dry my hair was a pain! It felt like she was trying to yank all of my hair out with the comb she was using!
"You complain more than a fussy child would while taking a bath, please remind me, how old are you again?" Momo remarked.
"What are you? My Mom or something?" I chuckled.
She stayed silent then whacked me in the head with the comb, "Don't get mouthy with me! I'm not the one who put themselves in this predicament now am I?"
I crossed my arms and puffed my cheeks out, I didn't answer her as she finished up drying my hair.
[The Next Morning...]
I woke up and Momo was still on top of me, sound asleep. I pulled down the eye wrap from my face. I could see! It hurt my eyes like hell though and everything looked like an 8-bit video game, but I could see! I smiled and laid my head back down on my pillow. I ended up falling back asleep again, which only felt like I slept for a few minutes. I felt my nose being booped and I woke up.
"Good Morning, sunshine." Momo smiled.
"Mornin'!" I replied after she kissed me.
"So, how are you feeling?" She questioned.
"Well, I guess my back hurts, that's about it though." I responded.
Momo got up off of me and stood up. I heard her create some things.
"Here, lay on your stomach." She instructed.
I flipped over onto my stomach and Momo pushed my shirt up. I felt her put something cold on my back and she rubbed it in on my back.
"Geez, you really need to start taking care of yourself! This back of yours is scarred up quite a bit, I believe that Nine must've had something to do with that." Momo noted.
"Really? Are there scars on my back?" I asked.
Momo took her finger and outlined the scars on my back. There were 3 huge scars going across my back!
"Woah, those are some pretty big scars!" I laughed.
I heard my door open and someone walked in.
"Hey I just-" Kirishima stopped talking.
I looked over towards him.
"Hey, Kiri! Good morning!" I smiled.
"I-I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" Kirishima wondered nervously.
"No, Kirishima, you aren't. I'm sure you would be able to distinguish whether you were or not." Momo replied.
[A Few Minutes Later...]
Deku told us about a tournament that's going on between Shiketsu and our school! I was super pumped for it!
"Yeah! I can't wait to enter! I wonder who I'll go up against!" I grinned with excitement.
"Alyx, you can't see, remember? How are you gonna fight if you can't see?" Kirishima chuckled.
"How about we show you ourselves, mortal!" I shouted.
I instantly covered my mouth, that wasn't my voice!
"Woah, Alyx, are you alright? That was some voice change you've got going on there." Jiro inquired.
I didn't know what to say, what in the hell was that?!
"Y-Yeah... I'm fine. I... I don't know what that was." I responded.
Who was that? That came from me, but it wasn't me?
"Anyways, I'm definitely entering that tournament! If you think I'm gonna miss that just because of some eye issue, then you're mistaken!" I grinned.
