Magical Apocalypse I

With such a good deal Nox had brought her, Loki immediately started rubbing her hands together, thinking just how much she could rip off uders with the promise of a Panacea . . .

Unlike what Nox had initially envisioned, calling on the major players in Orario first and then letting the results spread throughout the world to draw in more interest, Loki decided to take an extra step to speed that process up.

Nox her underestimated how much influence Loki actually had, not only did she get all of the city's main forces, she also managed to draw out representatives from major powers around the world and, for those with lesser influence, they even reported they would come directly themselves.

Still, to leave time for the various major powers to gather in the city from the far reaches of the world, the meeting would only happen about month and a half later, subject to delays as well and so, Nox was planning two things to invest that time in.

First was improve his base abilities as far as possible, following that, he would used those enhanced abilities to once again try making some more key items. While the Panacea would be the start of the show, If Nox could bring in more revolutionary items, then it couldn't be better.

Still, his ability was the main goal and item making was only in case the ability growing part went better than expected.

Nox's plan for raising his abilities was simple enough. Since the Colosseum is not available for now, he would teleport to the 50th floor which was a no spawn zone like the 18th and set up and hideout from where he could operate on the 49th floor above.

The 49th had herds of Fomoires that made for excellent farming opportunity. Nox was aiming to get his magic ability to EX-9999 first by unleashing his various new large scale spells on the poor Fomoires and then, with his peak magic stat to get him out of trouble, start working on his other abilities.

It was a solid game plan that took into account all of Nox's abilities and the fact that improved magic also meant an improved physical combat ability due to Invictus. He also had three new and improved main abilities to test out.

Not only that, but his magic arsenal had a trump card for improving his abilities, a recent modification to one of Nox's ten grand spells.

He had a lot of space to build a safehouse this time so Nox spent the first few doing that, carrying supplies was now safer as the teleportation items were working much better as Nox improved them. Just using them while focusing let him feel the mysteries of spacetime and deepen his understanding.

Right now, so long as each use took less than one minute and the item had at least a cooldown of one hour, there were no hiccups at all, much better than before but still quite far from perfect.

After building a good enough safehouse, probably the most well equipped one he had ever built, an outright hidden mansion, Nox finally got ready to go up and start unleashing magical apocalypse up the poor Fomoires.

Thunderzone was already tested in combat so it was time to try out the others, beginning with the longer ranged ones and finishing up with those that required being closer to the enemy.

Nox had a total of 10 "Grand" spells as he called them. Six of them spread out with him as the epicenter, Thunderzone Tribulation was one of these, they were like "OH SHIT!" buttons to wipe out everything around him.

One of them worked best at the short to middle range while another, while also starting at Nox's position as a zone spell, it could them be moved extremely far if need be.

As for the last two, one of them was strictly long range or super long range at its after effects were very large and affected not only Nox's allies but even Nox himself, a spell for the pure purpose of destruction and nothing else.

As for the final spell, it was the one Nox was most proud of among the ten and four of the three that Nox was satisfied with and thought needed no adjustment, working at all ranges from short to super long without fail.

As for the six that still needed more work, they were obviously the ones that still only worked at close range which made it necessary for Nox to stand in the middle of the enemies, in the way of his allies' attack if he was fighting alongside any.

Starting safe, Nox located a faraway herd of Fomoire and activated his first grand spell with multiple magic circles flaring all around him, since he had the spells stored in the Arcana Matrix engraved in his body, it too lit up with runes.

"Perfect Storm."

A extremely violent windstorm, replete with slashing and ripping wind current, twister and hurricanes as well as powerful tornadoes.

It drew in wind energy from the air and grew amore and more once it was released, with Nox controlling it to move away from him in the direction of the monsters. Additionally, it picked up debris from the surrounding to up its lethality.

Even if ox stopped feeding it mind, it would last a couple of minutes according to his previous tests, done outside of the dungeon.

The storm was semi sentient spirit magic that could track foes and sustain itself by collecting part of the excelia they gave out when they died, becoming larger and stronger.

The consumed excelia was very small and Nox still got plenty though so after he saw the Perfect Storm mince two herds, he just let it go to find enemies on its own.

With the first test done to resounding success, Nox moved on to the next spell, this time, it was of the water element and the one with a good middle range performance but also effective at short range.

It required him getting a bit closer to the herd of Fomoire he was targeting but Nox was confident in both his magic and his ability to run away if things went wrong.

"Abyssal Summon."

Once again, a massive light show took place but the light became dark and what looked lime blotches of dark black ink stained reality and, form within them, dark blue water lentable appeared which Nox could control.

The tentacles could extend quite far and and they drained the health, mind and stamina of what they hit, they were powerful too and ,as they were made of water, impervious to actual physical damage.

Nox controlled the tentacles to slaughter a herd but, once he was nearly done and he loosened the control over the tentacles, the ones he let go of grabbed a Fomoire and dragged them into the "hole" they came out of before it closed.

'Looks like there is more to this spell than I initially thought . . .' Nox pondered.

Still, the test was done and Nox moved to test another, trying to locate another target when he came upon a very interesting sight.

'Balor . . .'

That's right it was Balor . . . Running around trying to get rid of the incorporeal Perfect Storm surrounding it and chasing the monster where it went, pulling in FOmoire it met along the way to sustain itself in its harrassment of the Balor.

Harassment because the storm was only dealing superficial damage. Nox had intended Perfect Storm to be a control/small fry cleanser so it didn't really come as a surprise but, since Nox was planning on testing the long ranged heavy hitter next, the situation came just at the right moment.

'It's all about that Luck development ability I guess!' Nox thought with a grin.

Nox prepared his most destructive spell. A spell of the earth element and an even bigger lightshow took place but the Balor was too busy to notice.

Nox commanded the storm to stretch out near him and drop all of the drop items and magic stones within near him rather than have them be destroyed but what came next.

"Heaven's Fall"

The lightshow stopped and everything went back to normal but then, a huge magic circle appeared far above the Balor, nearly at the ceiling of the 49th floor which was quite high as far as Dungeon ceilings went, hundreds of meters even.

Nox had remembered seeing the Meteor Swarm spell cast by the Demi Spirit in the Sword Oratoria LN and anime but always felt it was quite underwhelming and that it lacked the impact a real meteorite would have, that made even a small rock open of a huge crater.

And so, the spell he was currently using was born. the magic portal opened up what seemed to be a portal to outer space as an asteroid seemed to race to the opening, just one . . . But it was far more than enough.

It took a while for it to reach the "portal" but as it was going much faster that it seemed, after that, it reached the ground pretty much instantly and a deafening boom rang through the dungeon alerting even adventurers in floors considerably above the 49th.

A massive explosion that, despite occurring so far away, blew Nox off his feet, more due to surprise the shockwave reached him than its actual power.

Nox conjured up some wind to clear all the dust and debris in the air and see the result of his spell and it truly left an impression . . . .
