Aftermath of the Show IV

Having everyone's attention, she stepped forward to share what she had gleaned from her bond with their goddess.

"Although everyone here must have realized it already, Freya-sama's obsession with Nox Lyros has complete surpassed every other she has had in the past. Freya-sama literally cannot stop thinking about him." Horn started.

Immediately, all hell broke loose as jealous and indignant rants began.

"That bastard, suckepunching me and taking the chance to assault me was not enough, he even dares to have intentions on Freya-sama!?" Allen spoke, perhaps suffering from insanity due to Nox frying him a little too hard.

Excusing his defeat by saying Nox only managed to secure such an overwhelming advantage towards him due to his initial suckerpunch and even saying Nox wanted to take their goddess even though he had done literally nothing other than flirting with her when she took the guise of Syr.

However, the insanity seemed to be shared amongst other higher ups of the familia. While they correctly dismissing Allen's initial words as the ravings of a looser who couldn't accept his defeat, they very much believed his following statement.

In fact, other than Ottar who saw things as they were and Horn who constantly had the truth hammered into her head every time she transformed into Freya, all of the others thought Nox must have been working some ploy to capture their goddess' affections.

"Stop being a bunch of jealous idiots and think of Freya-sama!" Horn suddenly shouted, making all of them turn to her with some measure of anger but Ottar's presence worked wonders to make sure they did not step out of line.

"Nox Lyros did literally nothing to gain Freya-sama's affections. Nothing other than existing that is." Horna said and while the higher ups wanted to refute her they elected to restrain their outrage and wait for her to finish her piece.

"No one can deny Freya-sama's eye for talent and though I do not know what exactly she saw that drew her to Nox Lyros so much, I can tell from her thoughts and emotions how shocking it was. Something beyond talent or beauty, something which drew her to him more than anyone ever."

"The more he shows off, the more Freya-sama's obsession grows as all of her thoughts and theories on him are confirmed. The main reason she is so unstable now, is due to the simple fact she can't get Lyros' words that the two of them are not compatible out of her head." Horn finally revealed the crux of the matter.

". . ." Silence. That was all everyone could give in response to what they had heard. They wanted to deny it, to lash out and claim Horn to be wrong or a lier, whatever made them feel better.

To admit Freya's obsessive love for Nox was greater than whatever she felt for all of them combined, that the reason for that love, was purely the fact that he was an existence who utterly surpassed them based on something innate that they could never beat, that their beloved goddess goddess was going mad based on a single comment he had made to Allen . . .

How could they accept such a thing?

All of the higher ups of the Freya familia loved Freya from the bottom of their hearts with no exception. The difference between them, was how that love manifested, its nature.

Their loves carried great selfishness and possessiveness, some more than others but while that was natural, it had the potential to blind them and drive them to extremes they should not go to.

The only two exceptions were Horn and Ottar. Horn's wish towards her goddess had already been fulfilled and she lived only to serve her and help her in fulfilling her desires while also seeking to protect her from any who might harm her.

Ottar on the other hand, saw Freya as his everything due to to her picking him up from the streets as a starving child, granting him a name, food, a home, and emotional warmth. To him her love was like the wind, something for everyone and that was never bound.

As such, he never was bothered whenever the goddess found someone new to love, and never felt jealous towards any of Freya's lovers, even respecting them as worthy for gaining his goddess' affections. He considered Nox much in the same vein as well.

Alas, there were critical issues with the current state of affairs. Barring the childish tantrums of the other higher ups. Ottar believed the something should be done to solve Freya's current state, for the sake goddess' own pursuits at that.

Meanwhile, Horn, affected by Freya in a colossal way, felt even more urgence at solving the current situation. Unlike Ottar's simple respect for Nox however, her emotions towards the rising star were far more extreme.

Horn both loved and hated Nox Lyros to such an extreme that it threatened to tear her soul apart. The source of these contradictory feelings, was none other than Freya.

On one hand, being on the receiving hand of all of her goddess' thoughts and emotions, made Horn fall hopelessly in love with Nox, her obsession for him being just as strong as Freya's.

On the other however, she saw him as the unwitting architect of Freya's suffering and thus hated him with a passion and wished him gone.

One thing was clear though, something had to be done with the utmost haste and that something was clear to everyone and though their intentions in doing so might differ, they all knew Nox Lyros had to be brought before their goddess . . .
