The Matter of Freya VI

Nox literally could want for nothing and that made it incredibly difficult to hire him. After all, what could you give to someone who lacked nothing? What could possibly tempt them to work for you?

There were certainly things he wanted, his ever constant search for security by continuously making himself more powerful and harder to kill was certainly far from over after all.

Alas, the only one who could help him in that endeavour was Nox himself so it was not something others could feasibly take advantage of.

Eventually, though, Horn came to a similar conclusion as Nox did previously. Even if he was rich, no one would dislike getting even richer right?

Nox had already clearly stated that taking a trip to Folkvangr was a trifle and that he cared little for the so called "dangers" he might face during said trip. As such, so long as the offer was even slightly tempting, there was no reason to refuse making such a small effort right?

Horn was absolutely correct in her thinking and Nox too came to the conclusion that he would simply milk pure resources out of the Freya Familia since in the end, he had to make the trip for his own sake or reach Freya going completely nuts and messing up everyone's plans and ideas, his own included.

The question for Nox was, how much could he squeeze. Meanwhile, the question for Horn was, how much had to be offered to tempt Nox.

All she had to do was tempt him slightly and she was pretty sure he'd agree but to even make a slight temptation for someone as rich as him, the Freya Familia had to be prepared to suffer significant losses or it most certainly would no be possible.

"How about we offer you a cut of our earnings in the dungeon for a set period of time?" Horn suggested.

Everyone fell into silence yet again while Finn and loki drew a sharp breath.

The Freya Familia was the strongest exploration type familia, a cut of all their earnings would be astronomical even if the percentage was not that high but, if they were offering that much . . . How desperate exactly were they?

"Let's talk specifics first. How much are we talking exactly?" Nox inquired and it was enough to show he was interested which, despite the high offer, almost brought a smile of success to Horn's face.

From now on though, it was up to Ottar since he knew the Dungeoneering aspect of things infinitely better than her and was thus better equipped to deal with the following negotiations.

"Negotiations are far from my forte so I'll give you a value that will be the highest I can afford without an issue that might cause the whole matter to fall through" The Boaz started.

"Fair enough." Nox agreed.

"25%. No more no less, with my guarantee that it will be delivered without fail." Ottar spoke.

"Sounds good. However . . . There are some things that need to be ironed out and only after they are settled while I make the trip. Your people have not be exactly deserving of trust so I'll only do my part once guarantees that you all with do yours are in place." Nox replied with straightforwardness.

"I can understand your point of view. However, it would be best if these guarantees can be taken care of quickly as time is of the essence." Ottar responded.

"That is an issue on your end. If the other executives defer to you then it will be done as soon as you gather them. If they do not . . . Well, you may face some issues." Nox said.

After he did so, he pulled out a blank contract scroll, one with only the formations required to enforce whatever would be written on it afterwards. It was something far more serious and unbreakable that what he sold for general use.

He traced his finger on the paper and words formed, detailing the guarantees that Nox seeked from the Freya Familia executives.

"25% Cut, not of your earnings in money though, a percentage of whatever you bring out as money couldn't be more useless to me." Nox casually said and while Ottar showed no reaction and Horn just made an undecipherable expression, Finn and Loki had their brows twitching.

After all, they haggled and every coin, paid as little as possible even though they never skimped on supplies and maximized their profit by doing their best to jack up prices. It was not just the Loki familia of course, everyone did as such.

So to see Nox care so truly little, it didn't sit well with them at all.

"Hey Noxy . . . Just how much money do ya have?" Loki questioned, right in front of the guest to since it would only boost Nox's status which would always be good since acting low key or hiding was no longer desirable or even possible.

"No idea." Nox simply shrugged, earning him quizzical looks from everybody in the room.

"Do you remember how many breaths have you take in your life?" He followed up with that question.

"It can't be that exaggerated right?" Loki seemed like she was on the verge of losing her mind.

Truth be spoken, Nox had never really bothered to give her specifics about his more mercantile activities since he put nearly zero focus on them but with trustworthy distributors like Hephaestus and an ability like Arcana Craft which allowed for quick and easy mass production without a drop in quality, the profits were truly staggering.

"Millions of vallis come in every day. I quite literally can't spend enough to stop the increase. And before you ask, I have already offered to sponsor the familia, you simply refused."
