Episode 13 - The Last Survivors
Previously: When The Whisperers took over the planet after being brought over by The Doctor from a transference modular, The Doctor caused a shatter effect, making Earth uninhabitable for The Whisperers, causing them to evacuate the planet to find some different shelter.
The Tardis materialises outside the Redburn House. Maya and Greg exit the Tardis smiling.
The Doctor then closes the door behind him as he walks outside and says "there we go" Maya nods "I need to check on Todd and Emma" The Doctor smiles as Maya runs into the house.
Greg then turns around, looking at The Doctor and he says "what happens now?" The Doctor says "I need to check a couple of things, try and see if I can find whoever it was that did that thing to Mary" Greg nods at him "be safe, yeah?" The Doctor smiles at him "of course I wi-".
Suddenly, a shrieking sound is heard as a Whisperer appears behind them, The Doctor then says "impossible!" Greg shakes his head "but we stopped them-" The Whisperers then says "not all of us" The Doctor then says "how many of you are here?" The Whisperer then starts to laugh "we are of many" The Doctor looks at Greg in shock.
Maya then stands looking in shock as Emma, Todd, Frank and Karla both look at The Whisperer.

The Doctor stands there glaring at The Whisperer, until it then fades away, disappearing.
Maya looks over at The Doctor "how is that possible? You made the planet uninhabitable for them" The Doctor nods "like everything, some always stay behind, some managed to survive" Karla nods "the last survivors?" The Doctor nods at him "yep" Frank then says "we can't let them do what they did before, they took over the entire planet" The Doctor then says "they can't there's not enough of them, but they're still a big threat, I'll call Kate, see if she can help-".
The Doctor then opens up the phone compartment in the Tardis, and he dials a number.
As The Doctor stands there, hearing the phone ringing, the phone stops ringing and it goes through to voicemail saying "welcome to the Vodaphone voicemail service for Oh-Seven-One-".
The Doctor then hangs up and he sighs "I hate when people don't answer phones" Maya then says "so, we're on our own?" The Doctor nods at her "yeah, we're on our own" Todd looks at Maya and says "wait, I'm sorry, what's going on?" Maya looks at him "I should've told you, but The Doctor, he's an alien, and that thing earlier, it was an alien" Todd stares at her "right-".
Inside Karla and Frank's house, The Doctor stands near a whiteboard, and he writes some numbers down. The Doctor then says "so, what do we know about them?" Greg then says "they're from another universe?" The Doctor nods "right-" The Doctor then writes another number onto the board. Maya then says "oh, you said they're an in-disc-ern-inble species?" The Doctor nods and he writes another number onto the board. Karla then shouts "oh! You brought them over to this planet?" The Doctor nods at her "yeah, thanks for that reminder" Karla smiles.
Frank then says "they're evil creatures, that executed people for not doing as we were told" The Doctor nods and writes another number onto the board. Todd then asks "what do the numbers mean?" The Doctor looks at Todd, then at the whiteboard, then back at Todd "oh, nothing, it just helps me focus" Todd nods "oh, right" Maya smiles at Todd as Emma sits beside her. The Doctor looks at Emma, then at Maya and Greg "right, you two...time to find ourselves a Whisperer".
(Commercial Break)
The Doctor, Maya, Greg, Frank and Karla all stand inside Barrow College.
The Doctor then says "right, I need to stay here, make sure the Whisper-meter stays active, but I need someone to go out and lure one of them towards us" Maya then looks at him "Whisper-what?" The Doctor smiles "I made the word up, it's a device that will help keep the Whisperer here, so it shouldn't disappear unless we say so" Frank then says "I'll do it" The Doctor smiles.
Down one of the corridors, Frank stands holding a small script that The Doctor has written and Frank starts to read it "we know you're here, creatures from another universe, make yourself present, I'm talking to you, the race known as THE WHISPERERS".
A Whisperer then emerges from the floor, and it looks at Frank weirdly "you will not survive us" Frank stares at The Whisperer "yeah? Well, just you wait and see-".
The Whisperer then starts coming for Frank, but Frank runs down the corridor.
Running down the corridor, The Whisperer is close behind him.
Frank then turns, and into a room, where The Whisperer follows him inside.
The Doctor then shouts "NOW!".
Karla flicks on the light inside the room, where The Whisperer sees itself inside a room with Maya, Greg, Karla, Frank and The Doctor.
The Doctor then presses a button, where an impulse is sent going through the room.
The Doctor then says "I've just sent a transportation impulse right through you, you're stuck here until I say so, answer my questions, help us to help you, and maybe I'll let you go, got it?".
The Whisperer continues to stare at The Doctor. The Doctor then says "how did you survive?" The Whisperer says "many of our race returned back to our universe, but some of us remained, held on. We've managed to hide for so long due to our difference in frequency's" The Doctor stares at him "frequency...FREQUENCY!" Maya then says "Doctor?" The Doctor smiles "I know exactly how to stop you all...and you just gave it away". The Whisperer screeches.
(Commercial Break)
Walking back down the corridor of Barrow College, The Doctor walks with everyone.
The Doctor then says "humans, you vibrate, your bodies do, but you have a very low frequency, The Whisperers vibrate too, but extremely high, enough that you can't see them, every so often they have to stop, and that's when we see them. But with the right frequency, we can remove them off of this planet" Karla then says "how do we do that?" The Doctor then says "the same way we...I brought them onto this planet-" Greg then smiles "a transference modular?" The Doctor nods "only, I'll need to revamp it a little bit, enough to be able to lock onto certain frequency's...The Whisperer's frequency" Maya and Greg both smile.
Back in the Redburn's house, Maya and Greg sit together, tying wires up together for The Doctor.
Beside them, Frank and Karla sit together doing the exact same thing.
Emma and Todd sit together watching TV as The Doctor sits beside them wiring a box.
Maya looks at Greg and she smiles at him "you know, I know I said one adventure with The Doctor then home, and things changed because we're looking for that Timelord who's doing things, but I'm starting to wonder if maybe we should stay...I mean, I forgot how much I loved it" Greg looks at her "but don't forget how dangerous it is" Maya stares at him "I thought you wanted to stay?" Greg nods at her "I do because I have nothing to lose, but you? You have a daughter now, and Todd...they both need you. I can go and risk my life, but you can't!" Maya then sighs and she says "what about me? What if I lost you?" Greg smiles at her "you won't ever lose me" Maya nods at him and she smiles "you're not ever losing me either" Greg nods at her.
Karla looks at Frank and she smiles at him "it's kinda nice you know, seeing you help The Doctor, I never thought we would, you know?" Frank nods at her "there's some sort of thrill to it when I was running from that Whisperer, my heart was racing, and...and-" Karla smiles at him "you enjoyed it?" Frank nods at her "all I'm saying is I understand why Maya and Greg love it so much" Karla nods at him "don't enjoy it too much, or you'll run off with The Doctor too".
(Commercial Break)
As The Doctor connects some wires up to the box he is holding, the box then lights up.
The Doctor smiles "here we go, the transference modular...version two".
Maya, Greg, Karla and Frank stand beside him.
Todd and Emma walk over to them. Todd then looks at Maya "do you have to go? It's going to be dangerous, and I want you to stay" Maya kisses Todd on the lips and smiles "when I get back, I promise I'm going to explain everything to you, I will! But I need you to trust me now and stay here with Emma, keep her safe!" Todd looks at her and he nods "I will, I promise" Maya nods.
The Doctor then opens the door to leave the house, but as he opens it, Billy stands there smiling "Doctor!" The Doctor smiles "hey, Billy!".
Billy walks inside and he hugs Maya and Greg "hey, what's going on?" Frank looks at Karla and The Doctor "you guys get going, I'll fill Billy in and I'll catch up".
The Doctor, Karla, Maya and Greg leave the house as Billy stands with Frank.
Frank looks at Billy "listen, I need you to take care of Todd and Emma-" Billy says "what's going on?" Frank sighs "it's The Whisperers Billy, they're back...the ones from when you were a child. Me and your mum are helping The Doctor, he's found a way to stop them, so I need to get going, but you know what to do if they come?" Billy nods "I'll get them into the Tardis, it's safe there".
Frank waves to Emma and smiles "I love you, sweetheart". Frank smiles at Billy.
Frank then walks out of the house, and he looks at the Tardis in the garden, Frank smiles at the Tardis and he walks off, towards where The Doctor and the others are going too.
The Doctor, Maya, Greg and Karla then walk into Barrow College, The Doctor then says "right, let's end the Whisperers, once...and for all" Maya and Greg smile at The Doctor.
Setting up their transference modular, The Doctor places the box in the middle of the corridor, on the floor. The Doctor looks at a wire, leading into one of the classrooms.
(Commercial Break)
The Doctor looks at Maya, Greg and Karla "right, it's set up, the modular outside, will pull anything with the same frequency as The Whisperers to it, and I've set it to send them back to their universe, as long as we stay in here, away from the modular we'll be safe, we let it do its thing, and we'll be okay, ready?" Maya and Greg nod at The Doctor. Karla smiles "let's do it".
As the transference modular begins, a loud high pitched sound is heard, and Whisperers start to appear down the corridor, being pulled towards it and trying to fight to stay on Earth.
Suddenly, a door opens and Frank walks in "DOCTOR? MAYA?".
A Whisperer then grabs Frank's wrist, and Frank starts to get pulled with the Whisperer.
Maya and Greg run out of the classroom, standing near the door.
Maya screams "DAD!". Greg watches in shock as Frank gets pulled closer to the modular.
The Doctor and Karla then run out, but The Doctor says "we can't touch him, there's a lake right in the middle of the corridor, pulling the last of The Whisperers in, if we go in, we get pulled in".
Karla shakes her head "what do you mean? How do we save him?".
Frank looks over at them all and he says "don't watch, just turn around-".
The Whisperer lets go of Frank, and Frank tries to grip onto the floor, but he continues to get pulled in by the modular. The Doctor then says "Frank, because of the vibration you give off, you won't go to their universe, but you won't survive, I can't stop it, I'm so sorry".
Maya and Greg both stand there in tears. Karla holds onto The Doctor's hand.
As the high pitched sound continues, the sound of Frank struggling to hold on is also heard.
Everyone closes their eyes as Frank watches as Whisperers continue to disappear into the transference modular. Frank then smiles "I love you, I love you all".
Frank's eyes close as he's then swooshed back by an impulse, causing all the windows to smash and the transference modular to stop and finish its job. Maya then turns around in tears.
(Commercial Break)
Stood outside, The Doctor stands with Emma, holding her hand as they watch Maya, Greg, Todd and Billy carrying a coffin for Frank.
Karla stands beside, walking beside the coffin, crying.
The Doctor looks at Emma and he says "I did this to them, I couldn't stop myself from being with two of my best friends, and now Frank's dead, if I don't stop, it could be-".
Emma looks at The Doctor "my mum always talks about you, she thinks you're amazing" The Doctor then smiles at Emma "and I think your mum and Greg are amazing".
The Doctor sits down on the couch in the Redburn's House. Maya and Greg sit beside him.
Karla and Billy then sit on armchairs near them. Emma walks over, sitting beside Maya. Todd then stands behind the couch, with his hand on Maya's shoulder.
The Doctor then says "I think...for the first time ever, I can finally say...I'm really sorry".
Maya and Greg both look at The Doctor, and he looks at the two of them.
Suddenly, UNIT the break through the front door, aiming guns at everyone.
Karla stares in shock until Kate then walks in and she says "apologies for the break-in, these guys are getting trigger happy" The Doctor stares at her, Kate says "maybe not a time to relax, and I apologise for not returning your call from earlier, but we've been very busy today".
The Doctor then watches Kate walk over to the TV and she switches it on.
The Doctor and everyone look at the TV where they see The Master broadcasting on live television. The Doctor then stares in shock "what is this?" Kate points at the TV again.
The Master then starts to talk "hello fellow Americans, fellow British, fellow Australians, fellow Canadians...fellow everybody, I'm the new president of the world, and all of your lives are now in my hands, with a push of a button, I could nuke this entire planet. Unless you hand me, one person...The Doctor. Come to me, or watch this planet die!".
The Doctor and everyone else stare in shock at the TV.

Maya runs up to the window, looking outside and she stares in shock "DOCTOR!".
The Doctor runs over to the window, watching a spaceship lower down into Earth's atmosphere, The Doctor then looks at The Master "what have you done?"
The Doctor, Maya and Greg run outside, where they see hundreds of Sycorax attacking people.
The Doctor pulls out his Sonic Screwdriver and he aims it at the gate, sonicking it.
a bright purple box, that looks like The Doctor's Tardis, starts to materialise.
The Master smiles at him "I obviously didn't come alone Doctor, I brought an army"
The Sycorax Commander then steps off its throne and moves towards The Doctor "Doctor?".

Back on Earth, Kate calls The Doctor for help when The Master takes over as president of the world. The Doctor and the others head to the White House where they confront The Master who has brought a deadly race to attack Earth.
