After getting all dressed up, Clarissa came out of her room and into the living room with a small hand bag to put her phone and wallet inside, she wore a simple yet elegant dress as her hair was in a half up, half down updo. The sun was just setting, as Emma and Rupert were waiting for her to come out of her room.
Clarissa had heard a whistle that sounded like a cat call, making her head turn towards Rupert with a raised eyebrow. "What? You've never seen a girl dress up before?" She snarkily asked as she smiled at Emma and turned to her. "Do you have to go to work? I Don't think I'd be able to handle Rupert all on my own." She said as she earned a smack on the arm from the boy.
"Oy, just be glad I'm not some stranger that's looking out for you, eh?" He had said as he went and grabbed his car keys. "I'll be waiting outside by the car." He mumbled before walking out of the loft, leaving Clarissa and Emma in the room.
"Okay, now remember-" Emma had started out to say as soon as her brother had left. "don't forget to have fun, and even though I'll be at work. If you are in any sort of trouble just give me a call, considering Rupert will be working I don't know if he will pay much attention to you." Emma had said to Clarissa. If She was being honest, Emma really liked having Clarissa around and even if some things were kinda weird between the three of them sometimes, it just showed that maybe she was meant to be their roommate all along and the spark between the two girls made it really easy for them to get along.
"Yes mom, I'll be sure to remember that. It's just I'm kinda scared to go out- I don't wanna run into Laurence or anything.." She had said as her smile turned upside down, as she felt the nerves starting to kick in again. The girl had fumbled around in her purse looking for some vampire teeth that she had, and held them closed in her left hand, before shoving them into her mouth to adjust the feel of it, and turned to Emma to give her a smile showing off the fake fangs.
"No. Absolutely not. Take those fangs out right now." Emma had said as she was trying to hide a laugh. "You're supposed to go out and have fun, not make yourself look like a fool!"
Clarissa could only smile at Emma as she still kept the teeth in. "watch out or I will bite you." She had hissed and cowared backwards, as she saw Emma trying to reach for the teeth to take them out.
"Clarissa." Emma had stated more sternly. "Out." Emma said as she held out her palm, giving Clarissa a pointed look.
"Hmph, you're no fun." Clarissa said as she leaned her head over and spat the teeth out. They were all wet and slimy like as soon as Emma held them, making her drop it in the progress. "Hey! Why'd you gotta make it all slimy for?" She asked as Clarissa giggled while she bent down to grab them off the floor, and shoved it back into her purse.
As soon as she did, she heard a car honking from outside. "I guess it's time to depart." Clarissa had said to Emma with a frown. "I'd rather stay here and watch Nemo.." She grumbled slightly heading for the door.
"Oh cheer up! Maybe you'll meet someone!" she could hear Emma say as she walked out the door, closing it behind her.
'pfft, yeah right. I ain't ready for that shit yet..' The girl had thought to herself as she made her way down to the car. Maybe she could crack some jokes with Rupert and show him the fangs. Hopefully he'd be more pleasant about it. Before reaching the car she took them out and placed them back into her mouth again, keeping her mouth shut as she climbed into his front seat.
"About damn time, I was getting impatient waiting out here, don't you know the creeps come out at night?" he had snapped in an instant and turned on the car, twisting the key into the slot to get it running.
Seeing as she couldn't say a whole lot just yet, Clarissa turned her head towards him and buckled up. She couldn't help but snicker as Rupert was looking at her in confusion. "what's so funny?" He asked as he started to drive towards his bar down the road. It wasn't that long of a drive, just maybe ten or fifteen minutes away from their loft.
"OH nothing- just hope I better not bite you." She said as Clarissa gave him a toothy grin, showing off her white fangs to him. His reaction was exactly what she was expecting.
"No. Absolutely not. No guy would want to see a girl wearing fangs in my bar." He had spoke, which caused her to laugh a great deal. "Oh come on, not you too! Emma seemed to like them!" She had spoke. Of course, it was a lie. But she just really needed a good excuse for her to stop being so nervous about going out that night.
"She did?!"
"no.."
Clarissa had admitted after a few moments of silence. "she too wanted me to get rid of them" the girl had explained as she took her teeth out and wiped them with the edge of her dress before placing them back in her purse.
"Good, good." Rupert had said, as he focused on driving towards the Bar. Once the pair got their, he parked his car in the employee parking lot, and got out. Clarissa following his lead, felt the butterflies in her stomach again. She really didn't like going out a whole lot and practically just binged movies all day every day after work. She was more of a theatre geek than a party girl. Maybe that was something that Laurence didn't like causing the breakup to happen, but again she couldn't be so sure.
The two walked into the bar, and saw people chatting away, some dancing, but mostly a lot sitting in booths eating and drinking.
"this isn't what I thought it was gonna be.." Clarissa had spoke to Rupert as she quietly followed behind him to the main bar where he served some drinks. The feeling she got when she walked in there was nice. The bar felt cozy, and not too crowded like she thought it was gonna be.
"trust me, it isn't all bad. Just on game days maybe it does get crowded." he said as he went behind the bar and watched Clarissa sit down in on one of the stools.
"what should I start you off with? Whiskey? the regular stuff?" he had asked, as she was glancing around the bar with a nervous look in her eye.
"Hey- Clarissa.." Rupert called out to her, causing her to turn her attention back to him. "Drink, it will help calm down the nerves." He had said, as he poured her a cup of vodka. "Just to start out with." he said and passed it to her.
"Oh uh, thanks?" she said as she took the cup and drank. She knew it was gonna be a long night as soon as she felt the burning of the liquid go down her throat. She enjoyed it to say the least it was different from the many coffee's she had served at her diner. She couldn't help but smile back at Rupert, knowing how fun this was gonna be.
"Not bad, Sinclaire. Not bad."
